Came out to my sister a few days ago

This past Thursday I had called up my sister. She is the one who I wanted to come out to first. I had gotten home from work and had dinner, then I called her up and we was talking about work, taxes, concerts, and such. We was on the phone for an hour and half be for I dropped the new. She took it well and she had a suspicion since I had changed my Bitmoji character and we was txting about a C2E2 that usually takes place in Chicago and I mentioned that I would probably dress up as a Sailor Moon character and I also mentioned that women's cloths felt more comfortable. She mentioned that a friend or two has came out, listens to music by a trans artist, and always wanted a sister (we have the same Dad, but different mothers, her mother only wanted one kid). I had felt a small weight off my shoulders.

So, today over Snapchat she mentions I could get a hair straightener to help make my hair look longer (my hair is poofy and in curling on the ends), I stopped at the store and got one (she mentioned one she uses, but they was sold out of that one, but got a different brand). I used it onec I had gotten home and I about cried after I used it since my hair was laying the way I wanted it to be.

This is truly a wonderful outcome. Congratulations. ?

  • 2 weeks later...

About a week later I had came out to my Mom and Grandma, they accepted it but had a million drilling questions and did not want me going on hormones. They seemed a bit confused since this seemed out of the blue to them. They both had seen clues before (women's cloths and such) but since I was not acting feminine outwardly. Have not came out to anyone else as of yet.

Thank you. Yeah, For my Mom and Grandma, I knew it was going to be a shock to them and they would be ok with it on some level. But, time it all it will take. It is my journey and I knw where I need to take it.

A BIG congratulations to you @Princess-audra!? That takes a lot of courage to come out to family especially your mom. I couldn’t do it myself way back when. Kudos to you. It all gets so much easier as you go. There may come a time when you’ll actually hate waiting to let someone know. You just want everyone you care about to know the real you!

I’m very happy for you and thank you for sharing your wonderful news!

My Best,

Susan R?

That you. I think I forgot to mention they don't want me to go on estrogen and think it through. But I have been think this through for years, and been seeing a therapist. They have a list of excuses on not to go down this path and I never appeared to be feminine from what they could tell, but seemed to be supportive for the most part.
