Auroras's GCS Surgery

Aurora

Recommended Posts

Hey all:

I am getting even more excited and nervous for my life changing GCS surgery coming up on April 21st.  It is 25 days away and it is getting real.  Dr. Crane's office had sent me my conformation packet and everything and I am all cleared for vaginoplasty surgery.  It is getting real.

April alone is just a super busy month for me as well.

Looking forward to seeing Dr. Crane and finally getting the correct part that matches

Wonderful news @Aurora!   The month just got busier with all the needed prep.  Good luck and stay calm.

Congratulations! I was pretty giddy for my surgery date, but everything went smoothly as you could hope for. May your surgery bring all the joy you want it to and your recovery be swift and painless!

Also, do what your doctor says, no pushing the envelope. You're a princess until you're healed. Make sure everyone around you treats you like one.

Hugs!

I have been following Dr. Crane's pre requirements and them some.  I have had over 9 months of hair removal and also been asking alot of questions.  As this is my second major surgery, I know to follow what the doctor says and to stay up on post-op follow ups

Completed my lab order on Monday from my surgeon and got back my lab results and found out from the nurses at the office that they have my results and everything appears at the normal healthy range.  So everything is still moving in the good way and ready for my surgery

I told you it would work out just fine in the long run, which is now just a short jog down the road.  It will go just fine for you.

How exciting girl! I’ll be having my revision surgery April 27th at the same hospital with one of the other surgeons at Crane Center (DeLeon). Perhaps we can run into one another. Super excited for you!

Awesome.  I know Monday the 26th is my 1st post-op to take off the bandages and to start the dilation process.

If you dont mind me asking, what revision are you needing?

Now for the fun part.  Got a call from the Crane Clinic in Austin TX with going over all the financial stuff that no one talks about and the insurance.  found out how much I am going to be billed out of pocket for the procedure and hospital stay and everything.  My insurance is covering everything and just need to pay my deductible

Just saw my primary care doctor since Dr. Crane wanted a clearance letter since I had cancer back in 2008.  My primary care was like wow, so long ago, but understands and followed Dr. Crane's recommendation and I am healthy and ready for surgery.  For just in case, my primary care did 1 vile of blood just to check my tumor markers to say he checked it and no cancer after 12 years.  So got that letter to my surgeon and now I am on my way for my vigina and finally feeling complete.

I have a smile on my face and feeling both exited and nervous, but ready for it

Congratulations!

Once thing you're not ready for though: Peeing in a cup after you get your vagina. I had to do that for the first time yesterday. It was... challenging. Also messy.

I am just weird, but i am really looking forward to the messy and painful dilation.  I know that for the first 2 to 3 months that my life will be nothing more than eat, sleep, dilate.

But I am just weird

Honestly, I was looking forward to dilation too. It's part of the "Hey, I get a vagina!" process that I actually had some control over. Everything else was doctors in white coats, but that ONE thing, I could do myself. That was all me.

Now it's, not exactly a chore. I mean I do other things while I dilate so it's quiet time. Just for me.

Hugs!

Awesome! I need to get a COVID test 72 hours before my surgery anyway, but having the inside of my brain tickled... again... is a small price to pay.

I fly to Austin TX on Sunday.  Getting the final calls from my surgeon and doctor in Austin, TX to go over my surgery and pre-op with making sure that I am ready and knowing everything.

also I am planning on bringing my 2x of my stuff animals that I have had since I was a baby and have always been there for me for all my past surgeries from eyes and cancer and I want them with me for my surgery.

I am 40 years old and I still have my baby stuff animals that I love so much and that have always been there for me.

They are SO CUTE. My heart melted a little. They look well loved and I'm tearing up thinking about it. You have a pair of good protectors there.

Hugs!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.
    • Ivy
OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Ngl, probably Sonic the Hedgehog, the Beatles, or the Monkees. Those are the three subjects I know the most about so I could drop hours of info on them.

Isaac Asimov, Albert Einstein and Robert Kennedy, in that order.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

Congratulations Sam,   The common saying her once someone starts HRT is: “Enjoy the ride.”   Best wishes, stay positive and motivated    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.
