Lately I’ve been researching and talking to my therapist about my cross dressing issues and fears. Am I trans and I non-binary and gender fluid etc. Recently I’ve  felt more comfortable in the gender fluid and non-binary term (even though I don’t like labels) So I’ve been thinking about taking hormones and I discovered I need to be in better health physically to do so. Is it strange that I needed such a drastic change in my life such as transitioning to finally get healthy? Any thoughts?

Not really. I had the same idea.

Funny thing, when I wasn't being me, my body was just rotting meat. The sooner I was done with it, the better. Now that I'm out as myself, I'm taking care of it and undoing as much damage as I can with a healthy diet and regular exercise. I've gotten certified as a personal trainer and I'm looking at starting my own gym someday. Go figure.

Hugs!

Awesome, I’m assuming since I’m finally discovering and loving myself in a new light just like you said I want to take care of me. Thank you so much

I know, right? Suddenly I found myself caring about my health and my appearance. Clothes matter. I'm looking into jewelry. Thinking about a tattoo (seriously, all my lesbian friends have cool ink, I feel deprived). All the things. It was like flipping on a light switch.

Hugs!

It's a thing. I abused the crap out of my body for so many years. Personal care was slightly above marginal, a lot of my clothes were so worn out and holy a resale shop wouldn't touch them. I ate fast food for almost every meal. And and cuts or scrapes? If it didn't rot off I was "fine". Now I'm the complete opposite. Personal care is one of my top priorities, no more stained or damaged clothing. I go a little overboard if I get a cut, last thing I want is more scars. I'm also now a vegetarian so no more fast food for me. My life has completely turned around for the better and all I had to do was accept the truth, I am transgender.

It's not strange at all to need to be in a healthier standing so your body can accept the treatment properly. The burning of body fat can greatly increase levels of estrogen in your system, as well as other hormones. Too much estrogen can lead to cancer as well as other health issues. So to make sure you're receiving the proper dosage and not having your treatment thrown off by the burning fat reserves, it's best to lose the excess.

I got extremely depressed out of college and got heavy. I wasn't feeling good, so I indulged to make things less grim. Food is my happiness, weakness and strength but, I hated how large I got. My arms and legs always felt painfully swollen and I couldn't move or breathe easily. I've known that at some point I'll need to change, cuz getting older isn't easier and I'll eventually want to go through my own changes which will require a healthier body anyway. When you're younger you don't worry as much about health, cuz you're full of energy, just living life and taking in experiences.

Don't be too harsh on yourself, and reward yourself when you finish your exercising. Don't be afraid to eat, just be aware about what you're eating and quantity. Reduce your carbohydrate and sugar intake as much as possible. Beans are my diet food of choice. Black beans and rice with roasted chicken, green salad and maduros, the best. 🤤 It's a perfect balanced meal and leaves you feeling full.

You don't need to cancel carbs., just focus on reducing your daily intake. Check labels for sugar and sugar added. Like for example milk has sugar in it, so I switched to half&half which has way less sugar to none. Instead of drinking soda, wean off it by drinking juice w. seltzer, saved my life. You're aiming for foods with specific types of sugar that are easy to break down. Try to enjoy your food time and explore, cuz being sad over strick diets can be stressful. May fortune favor your pursuit.

I was lacto-oval vegetarian and didn't eat sugar for 10 years while living in Tacoma back in the mid 70s-80s. I ate eggs and dairy, and fish. Belonged to a health food co-op, so got plenty of good quality food. Drank raw milk and made my own butter from raw cream. There was plenty of health food restaurants out there. I had tofu/peanut butter chili that you couldn't tell it was veg.

I was healthier than any other time in my life. After moving back to Illinois. all this good food was really difficult and expensive to find. Now I eat meat and sugar, and try to eat healthy. I miss those days.

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!

Things hit the fan today. I was reminded that "this is not a gender fluid establishment."   I had changed my preferred name and gender at the hospital on their app. My x-ray report came in with my preferred name and gender. It was not appreciated by the centre. 😬

I'm not a nutritionist but I've gone on bulking diets in the past so I can suggest a couple things to try. Foremost, food-prep stuff that you like to eat. Any 'real food' that usually sounds good to you. That way, you don't have the time-sink or hassle of cooking for every meal. You're more likely to eat if stuff if it's convenient and mostly ready. For example, I'll spend an hour or so one evening prepping burrito ingredients that will last me the next 3 nights. Then it's just a matter of microwaving the beef/beans and throwing them into a tortilla; takes 5 min.   If you need food 'on the go' often, consider prepping smoothies in advance pre-separated out into individual containers. I personally like low-no fat yogurt blended with fruit and, here's the weird part, those water flavor drops. They add sweetness without dumping in excess sugar. Insulated containers will keep them reasonably fresh non-refridgerated all day so they can even be tossed into a backpack.    Hope of those sparked some ideas!
