Anyone Play A Instrument

I play a lot of instruments. I play piano/keyboards, guitar, bass, sing. I could probably play anything that isn't wind. I'm probably going to be a musician when I grow up.

I can play basically any wind instrument and anything else is kinda iffy (I'm trying to learn guitar though, and I've sung in choir also).

I received a French horn in the mail yesterday!

I wouldn't exactly say I can play it quite yet... but give me a few weeks.

I play electric/acoustic guitar, bass, drums, and keys/piano pretty well. I mainly stick to all forms of rock music.

I played my sister's violin once and i wasn't too bad, could play mary had a little lamb in no time! haha

Now if only I could sing...

Piano for 14 years and violin for 10.

I'm not that good an either of them, though... I have joint problems so it's getting progressively harder to play them. Ironically, most people I know are trying to push me into a music career.

My younger brother plays electric guitar so I've been thinking of picking up acoustic, but we'll see.

I also sing for the heck of it, but I have such a strong dislike of my feminine range that I haven't been doing much singing at all lately.

Sorry to be such a downer, really!

I used to play the clarinet from 6th grade through 12th grade. I wish I still had mine but while I was away at college my Dad sold my instrument. I used to love playing music from the Disney movies for practice.

Seeing this topic makes me really miss my clarinet. I think I'm going to buy a new one.

lol, that's how I always was. I played recorder from like grade 1 to grade 4 then switched to flute, pretty straightforward transition - or 90 degree one, turn the recorder sideways and make it a little longer. ha. played on and off til 11th grade and obviously i can't rent an instrument from high school anymore but I also took piano lessons when I was 8 years old, found it pretty difficult and now can't remember much other than where your hands are supposed to go and which notes are which. Now like I've mentioned I'm trying to learn guitar and finding it difficult..even though I've always thought guitar was like the best instrument ever..

Because I feel like on guitar, I'm better at playing basslines than guitar parts, so now I kinda want to learn bass..but it would be nice to make reasonable progress with guitar first..

I have a talent with wind instruments: trumpet, trombone, sax, flugelhorn, French horn, and lately bugle. I can play the piano though. That's where I started out. I would really like to play a string instrument, but I don't seem to do well with them. Although I do have an accordion and a banjo now that I would love to learn how to play. I would also love to learn how to play blues harmonica.

Well for guitar, you learn chords, which you play very occasionally for bass. Guitar is hard since you have 2 more strings, and I can only remember which notes go to what fret on the low strings (i almost always have to count frets, like 1 is e, 2 is f...). But for playing, I like bass better. It's hard for me to play very fast notes on a guitar with complicated riffs. On bass, I play with my index and middle finger (which is easier for me). Like say Black Dog by Led Zeppelin. the bassline and guitar riff are the exact same, but I find it easier to play on bass than on guitar (playing with index finger and middle is easier than pick or thumb, and only bass you play with two fingers like that). anyway yeah that makes sense to me....also i can't pick too well because I got in the habit of using my thumb and now when i use a pick my hand-eye-other hand coordination is not too great lol.

Play a little on my digeridoo from time to time, amazing sound . and mouth harp is always fun.

Practicing beatboxing at the moment to combine that with my studio breakbeat/psy trance making. (sadly i have a very short attention span so it takes forever to get something finished...)

Plus the occational private karaoke

I play guitar, but have no talent whatsoever & have the attention span of a, errr...well the only the only thing that scares me more than playing in public is slowly starving to death in front of a huge plate of lutefisk!

I live and die by the guitar, and I like to sing. I am sticking with my one instrument to master my trade. I have been playing for 6 years and love every second of it, in fact my guitar is on my lap right now while I am typing. My guitar is an extension of my soul, with it I am everything, without it I am nothing. Currently I am playing a fender jaguar(electric) and a fender acoustic guitar( I will put pictures up some time. I love the clean sound of a marshall amplifier and I have a digitech gnx 3 effects pedal(amazing). I love to play all kinds of music from blues to metal. If you want to learn to play then stick with it and do not give up no matter how discouraged you get. I am a self taught guitarist, not that lessons are a bad thing. In fact, I recommend lessons. Its a little harder when you learn on your own, but definitely not impossible. I am quite skilled, but like Ac/Dc said " its a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll." You can always get better, so keep rocking and do not ever think you have learned everything. If you keep an open mind, you will continually get better at any instrument for that matter. Sorry I get excited about music.

I really badly want to learn drum kit. On rock band I moved from Easy -> Hard drums is a matter of 2 months. I know it isn't the same as the real thing, but it is pretty darn close.
