Leg Shaving

Does anyone think that shaving ones legs is a transitional step to the next level? I have been a cross dresser for most of my life and have been shaving my legs for the last couple years. I have been having serious thoughts of taking it to the next level. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether or not (if insignificant or not) shaving your legs has any impact on your femininity in your day-to-day life.

Hmm.. Good question.

I have been epilating my legs and upper body for over a year now. I love the smooth look and feel. :)

However i don't think that shaving ones legs necessary means they are on the path to transitioning, I guess it's different for everyone.

Speaking for myself i would probably go further and possibly transition if my life had taken a different turn, it's not likely to happen now due to my family and career choices.

I daydream of living as a female fulltime but this just isn't possible, so the next best thing is to let Rachael loose as much as I can get away with. B)

Well, Shelly...........

All of the things that you do are just part of a whole process.....Leg shaving helps bring a comfort level to you, but it of itself is no indicator of attaining a "Next level".....

All of the feminizing that you do are things that you do to become more in line with yourself.....

Actually the biggest part of transitioning happens in your head where no one sees it!

Are you refering to transitioning or the next level of cross dressing?

Many of us shave legs and body and wear underthings to help confirm our feminity to ourselves under male trappings as many of us are not out to the world yet!

Good luck, Sweetheart!

The first time I removed all my body hair it felt like a significant step. I used to be quite hairy but I was so very relieved when I removed it all. I felt so much more comfortable in my body when I looked in the mirror and saw my beautiful skin instead of skin covered in hair.

I'm not sure even now just how big a step towards transitioning it was for me, but it certainly felt like a moment I became much more feminine and it was significant for me. It also made me feel much better when dressed en-femme as my pretty clothes weren't surrounded by hair on any exposed body parts such as my arms or legs...not to mention how infinitely nicer, silky smooth, my clothes and lingerie feel on my body since then.

Shelley, if as Donna Jean mentioned, your question refers to transitioning as the next level, I'll repeat what you've

probably seen suggested here many times...therapy from an experienced gender therapist. I think that is the best way of determining your true self.

I've also been a lifelong cross-dresser, but have recently realized, as you have, that it may be much more than that.

I'm looking forward to my first therepy session and hope it will lead to the insights I desperately need.

Good luck, hon, whatever you decide to do.

I started shaving my armpits, next my chest, then my left thigh, and this week my right thigh. I love the smoothness, although when my wife noticed, she wasn't at all amused. I don't know why this brings me comfort, but I agree with the more practical reasons stated above - it's feminine, my dressing looks more naturally female when I remove the hair, shaving is becoming part of my daily life. I want to shave my legs completely this fall when shorts and bathing suit season is done!

Well Dear Shelly,

Shaving, and smelling sweet are two very important aspects to my female expression.

Oh, jewelery, and accessories help too. :)

One's own femininity is a personal thing, and whether or not one considers it a 'next level' will depend on the person. However, I believe committing oneself to shaving one's legs regularly is an important exercise in developing the self-discipline necessary for transitioning.

I epilate as it allows me expression and I feel daring when I'm out in public. I love being hair free and I'll never go back.

My wife also wasn't amused the other day after an eyebrow plucking session, she thinks I over did it. Oh well I love the look anyway. B)

Well for me it is another step. I have been shaving my legs for about 6 years, at first just in the winter now it is 24/7/265. I hate having hair on my legs and feel embarrassed when I miss a spot. I have recently started shaving my armpits it is just another step.

Hard to say, as far as I remember I always shaved armpits as a full male, just because -OK gross!- it itched often, and just felt better. Later on started to shave everything except the hair on my head. I would recommend it to anyone, not only does it look better (look younger as well!) it just rocks!

A classic question here at Laura's - gender dysphoric - but to what degree?

Only a therapist trained in gender dysphoria can tell you.

Other than that - don't worry about it. You are what you are.

And I shaved my legs because i love the feel - later I found I liked to depilate better - lasts longer. But I am talking years. And the next step? What is that? Body hair probably - just a guess. Yes - underarms need care and it helps with body odor to. As to full body? I don't have that problem - so i don't know - but I will warn that stubble in certain areas is a real bad thing! Arms? No - i used a razortrimmer - one rhat reduces the hair, not shaves it off. It worked better as I was not interested in shaving my entire body every other day.

So its a personal thing.

And the advice by the others above is really good.

All I want to add is I DID feel I was more than a crossdresser. It only took me 61 years to ask the right person, my therapist.

OMG, Elizabeth that is an amazing idea, I love it!!!! Thanks for mentioning it, I'm going to do that tomorrow. Always wondered what to do about my hairy arms!

I highly recommend shaving your legs at least once. It's a great feeling. You notice every breeze, your bedsheets feel really good, clothing feels good, it's a whole different sensation of feeling and touch. The only downside to shaving legs is when it starts to grow back because it gets itchy.

On a plus side, if anyone notices you've shaved your legs you can always tell them you're competing in swimming competitions

Shaving your legs is just a cultural thing. It really doesn't make you and more or less feminine. It's all in your head. So if you think it makes you more feminine, then I guess you'll be more feminine and it can take you to that next level.

On a plus side, if anyone notices you've shaved your legs you can always tell them you're competing in swimming competitions

That only works when you're talking to people who don't know that you don't swim. One of my friends pretty much harassed me about it when I shaved my legs. And I told him the runners and swimmers did it, and he says, "So? You don't do that!".

That is a great idea, Lizzy! Are you talking about something like a razor comb?

Im glad to see this topic since i have recently started shaving my legs and so forth. I did question whether i was taking it to the next level or not, but for me its just one way that i can still feel feminine when im not able to. I never wear shorts or anything even during the summer so I dont have to worry bout someone finding out. My excuse though were someone to find out would be that my gf likes it. I think that would pretty much end the topic of it right there, but ill let u know if it comes up lol.

And Lizzy that idea of using a razortrimmer works very nicely i just tried it, and just doing a little bit helps but if i think i can get away with it after seeing how this goes around my family i mite try shaving it just a little bit shorter. Thanks for the tip.

I use that excuse when someone is rude enough to ask me why I epilate my body. Most people don't even notice however or if they do they are too polite to say anything. I wear shorts in summer so there is no hiding it. :P

Thank you, Lizzy. I picked one up at the beauty supply today.

And Virginia, just to second what Rachael said, I pretty much live in shorts during the summer and am still presenting myself as a guy almost 100% of the time. I have never had anyone even look twice at my shaved legs, let alone question me. Honestly I don't even think about it much anymore.

I shave my legs, and armpits and everything except my arms and head and I wear short shorts. Nobody has ever said a word to me about it. My wife, who doesn't shave because she's blond and doesn't have much hair anyway really does not care and she's the only person to whose opinion I would pay any attention. If you have friends who harass you about it, well, maybe you should look for less intrusive, more polite and more accepting friends. I simply don't know anyone who would dare to mention the presence or absence of hair on my body to me. Why ever would you associate with people so rude?

Not sure.  The perp is a minor.  The problem here is NOT transgender, the problem here is incompetent and criminal administration.  See https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/family-of-loudoun-co-student-sexually-assaulted-ineptitude-of-all-involved-is-staggering/3231725/ It is more than annoying that people think the problem here is TG and that other people think the solution is some stupid statewide law.  Like an appendectomy to deal with an ingrown toe nail.    Since Loudon, I recall a boy was asked not to use the girl's restroom at a high school by one of the girls.  He, overwhelming her with height and weight,  assaulted her, claiming he had a right to be there.   Later I think eight girls beat him severely in another girl's restroom.  Again the problem is not transgender, the problem is assaults in restrooms and common courtesy.  TG is used as a smokescreen and it seems to paralyze thought among administrators who do not want to do anything to provoke controversy.

Time to get with your Primary Care doctor and be referred to a neurologist or an orthopedist.  It could be many things, too many for any of us here to guess at.

Other than the Boy Scout motto, oath, and law. I use two:   When asked how I'm doing? In all honesty I reply. I would have to make something up to complain. If asked to explain further: I reply. I know someone is having a tougher time than I am, and I pray God blesses them.   I also recite this quote that I have tagged in my signature: Courage, doesn't always roar. Sometimes it's the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."-Unknown    Saying these things daily keep me motivated.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

If this goes on, I am conceding the real possibility of being stopped in WM or somewhere by a concerned citizen who tells me, "Lady, God made you female.  I don't think you should be trying to look like a man. You need to return to your true gender and be comfortable living your life out as a woman."   Begin odd and awkward conversation.  I have been thinking about this this morning.

There are many MAGA GOP types who are not transphobes, of course. Some MAGA GOP types are transgender.

I'm hoping to read the next section today.  Many of the reforms they are calling for are good, such as expediting the military procurement process, and have nothing to do with transgender issues.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.
