Blue eyeshadow

Hello all. Having a great National Dress Day I hope!

 

This question has been going around the women I work with, so I thought I'd bring it up here too to see what all the girls here think.

 

It has to do with blue eyeshadow, and specifically, should a woman with blue eyes wear blue eyeshadow.  I have blue eyes and have never really worn blue eyeshadow.  I just don't like the way it competes with your natural eye color, and I think wearing nice earth tones give your eyelids and the crease great texture and depth, with a nice light color below your brow line to give a nice highlight.  I just don't see where blue eyeshadow can fit into your color scheme when your eyes are blue.

 

But a few other women in the office disagree.  They seem to think a nice blue can make blue eyes appear bigger, and in that respect I can see their point, but I think it also takes the attention away from your eyeball itself, which your color scheme and contouring should be featuring.  Another girl in my office says blue eyeshadow works with blue eyes as long as you have a very prominent eyeliner and lashes, to separate the two blue areas.

 

I just wonder what all of you think about this question.

My eyes are hazel and I love to use blue eyeshadow - and a navy blue eyeliner gel. Just my own preference, though.

 

I'm wearing a dress and heels, too!

I think hazel eyes with blue shadow is fine.  It produces enough contrast in shades.  This all started when one of the women in the office started wearing a blue shade that was very close to her natural eye color.  I just feel there needs to be some contrast of color and shades there.  But she said she thought it made her eyes look bigger, so maybe it's a personal preference.

Honestly, I am so new to this that I make more poor choices than right ones - but blue really seems to work for me. It seems to make my eyes sparkle in the right light.

I think you can wear any colour as long as its framed right.  I'm a child of the 80's and electric blue is a fave of mine but I do match it with black eyeliner and have gray/green eyes.
