Yes, SOC 8 is real.  I have been following a group of therapists who reviewed it in depth.  According to some of them however it still contains some things that the conservatives will take for support of their side, and possibly be the parts their bought and paid for legislators get in their in-boxes.

Thanks for putting that out there, Delcina. I took the time to read it and found it very interesting. I especially like how they have different detailed sections that are easy to refer to at any time. If anything at all, I found the sections on child and adolescent care and non-binary care informative and interesting. In the past, I only had a small idea on how it worked for children but after reading it, I feel more confident on how such individuals can receive care.

 

With how the news has been towards children and adolescents who are trans, it's made me a little angry. Everything seems so uninformed and quick to wail and try to ban such things without even looking into it. I hope with this new edition, as well as more exposure to it, people will better understand the process and know not everything about trans care is manipulative or vicious.
