DIY Health Care Becoming a Thing In Some R-Run States

Believe me, folks, the warnings from medical professionals in this article are no joke.  DIY hormones can KILL you!  So please don't do it, or help anyone else do it.

We need to know what is going on in parts of America, and this aspect of the new restrictive laws is important for folks to know and understand.  I'm not publishing this article to give people ideas, and I would not have if it mentioned any company names or other how-to's.  If you have friends or relatives who are attempting to purchase overseas parmacy-based hormones, please help them find other ways to stay safe.  This is rapidly becoming a huge crisis in our community.

The R-run state officials apparently want us to either de-transition, move out of state, or simply die.  I can come to no other conclusion.

But what are the alternatives?

There are several legitimate mail-order pharmacies in the U.S.  Probably the largest is Express Scripts.  I use it myself and their service is very good.  There are others as well.  As long as the Postal Service is immune from the effects of these state laws customers should still be able to access the meds.  But I'm not an expert on this stuff; some folks may have insurance that doesn't cover it, or some doctors may not utilize it.

Another option for those not too far from a state line is to cross over into a non-R state to get your prescription filled, preferably several months-worth.  These option won't work for everyone, I know.  I wish there were better solutions.  Our best hope is the court system.

DIY healthcare has been a thing for some folks for a long time...and not just trans folks.  High cost, unavailability, discrimination, etc...  And in some places, it has caused quite a bit of pharmaceutical piracy and a thriving black market.  But that's what happens to anything the government chooses to regulate or prohibit for "safety" instead of letting people be responsible for themselves.  There are ways to get the real thing.  But some of those ways may not be the safest or most legal.

For now, folks should figure out how to access what they need in other states.  Perhaps some of those opportunities could turn into a pipeline to bring what's needed into unfriendly territory.

It's a pity that it's coming to this.  Looks like getting hormones will be like getting weed.

Before my state adopted the Federal "Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization" (RICO) Forfeiture laws of cash and property seized during certain search warrant and spontaneous arrest events, my job as a State Tax Compliance Agent included assessing and involuntarily collecting state income taxes on street dealers of Black Market Drugs.  The job included the "business financial analysis" of how the drugs got to the street dealer from manufacturers.  The drugs we had to take into account were not just the illegal addiction drugs. Some were hormone and birth control pills or even experimental versions of Viagra and the pregnancy termination drugs that were legitimately manufactured in Mexico or points south but were smuggled into the State in a variety of ways, but all of which found buyers willing to pay millions of dollars for.  I know it was that much because of cash I actually inventoried and the seller's own records which were seized by search warrants.  So big illegal business will once again come to the rescue for us like it did back then I am certain of.  I mean, it was BIG with a lot of money (along with tragedy) but "STUFF" will become available without the safety.  There are no bad decisions without unexpected consequences to the government from people making our current prohibitions of Trans care.  The new laws are going to cost money, not save "children's lives".

This is all so absurd.  Doctors have been able to (and did) prescribe these hormones for years, and now suddenly, it's an emergency.  I am so disgusted.

They're starting this stuff in NC now.  They're having a vote today over banning affirming care for minors.  The other stuff will no doubt follow.  It's the Death of a Thousand Cuts.

I'm actually living a pretty good life as Ivy.  Sure, I watch my back and all that, but these people want to take even that away.  And for what?  It's not like I'm molesting kids or anything.

I just don't understand the mindless animosity.

I am a little confused about the word in your title there.    Defamation is a variation I know about, and it is akin to Libel and Slander in meaning, and could be the object of a court action or a couple of types.   If you are referring to the act of denying or taking away your feminine gender, ie. they keep using masculine names and pronouns or referring to you as  a "man" or "man in a dress", then yes it happens to me on rare occasion and if it is online, I simply block the moron doing it or leave the group where they are doing it, and may or may not come back if the person is there.  When people are willing to learn about Trans Folks I do give what are jokingly referred to as Trans 101 or even more in depth classes to the receptive and accepting audiences.  I DO NOT however try to teach a pig to sing, which as they say sounds like hell and annoys the pig.  If someone is invalidating your gender, get away from them safely and FAST.

My inner child likes to cuddle with Blahaj.  I know it's weird, but it works for me.

I'm not sure they can do this.  Not on line anyway.  LOL   Defamation?  Not that I personally know of.

Nice! I've found myself shopping around for astrophotography gear more than once but haven't taken the plunge yet. To close to a metro area to do it from my home.

It never occurred to me to be able to see them here in the south.   Maybe tonight if it's not cloudy.

Well, this last post brings my trans life up to date.  What happens from here is anyone's guess.  The next big milestone will be retirement, probably next year some time.  I don't think that will change things much for Sally because as I have stated previously, I am in a mostly happy place where she is concerned.    I do have a few more posts planned, as I would like to write in more detail about a few occurrences that were memorable to me.  Hopefully they will be of interest to others.    Hugs,   Sally

Has anyone been a victim of online defemination? and what to do about it?
    • Vidanjali
Yes, this is very therapeutic. You are able to see different aspects of your own personality. There is the part which has survived life thus far through decision making and lots of trial and error. That part of you is your wise and capable parent. When you feel strongly identified with the scared child in you, you can turn to the wise parent part of you whom you trust to guide you. You have faith and trust in that part of you necessarily because it has gotten you this far. Naturally, we all have room for improvement and advancement, but you can only start where you are and try to do your best with what you have to work with and deal with. But by adopting this attitude, you see that wise parental part of you become stronger, wiser, and more steadfast and skillful. Then the child in you increasingly becomes more trusting and carefree.

You want to hear coincidence? I just posted that and my neighbor just texted me and said she has been up early because there were Northen Lights outside. Then 2 seconds later I get an extreme weather alert. “We are experiencing Extreme Geomagnetic conditions observed and continued severe geomagnetic storms expected to continue through the weekend”.

No you aren't!!  There were reports from Texas, Arkansas and the Carolinas of spectacular shows last night.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime event, the best show since 1938, someone said.  Tonight is supposed to be just as good.  (OK, maybe a twice-in-a-lifetime event.  )

@KathyLauren That’s absolutely beautiful. Love those colors! That would be so nice to see some time. I’m too far South to ever see these spectacular events.   Very Nice, Susan R🌷
