I don't thnk I've seen this poll yet. So let's see what classical music our members love

to listen to.

And you young people - I want to hear from you too! Headbanger music is great, but

you've got to have heard some good classical that turns you on too.

Some of my favorites:

Appalachian Spring - Aaron Copland

Symphony No. 8 - Beethoven

Brandenburg Concertos - J.S. Bach

Water Music - Handel

Rodeo Ballet - Aaron Copland

The Four Seasons - Vivaldi

Concierto de Aranjuez - Rodrigo

The Planets - Holst

Mandolin Concertos (all) - Vivaldi

Violin Concerto No. 1 - vivaldi

That is a very nice list Carolyn Marie, I would start there and add a few of the heavier Romantic Compositions (as I am a Brass Player and Mozart had little to offer there although Symphony Number 40 is very nice).

I like the Instrumental selections from Wagner's Ring but you really have to be in the mood and have a lot of spare time to listen to all four of the Operas. Also Orchestral versions of Tannhauser and Lohengrin.

Schubert's Symphony Number 8 - The Unfinished (it was really number nine but because of Beethoven's 9th being so good his friend's didn't like the idea of his 9th being unfinished so they switched nuumbers and called his 9th "The Great")

Dvorak's Symphony For the New World.

Smetena's The Moldau from Ma Vlast and the trumpet solo from the Bartered Bride

Brahams - Acedimic Festival Overture

"Professor" Peter Schickele -The Unbegun Symphony (he was born too late to write the first two movements) and the Quodlibet

Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition (Ravel's Orchestration - not the piano schetches)

There that's a few of them.

Love ya,

Sally

Peter Schickele - now there's a name I didn't expect to see! I saw him in concert once - he

entered the auditorium sliding down a rope from the rafters. Whatta guy!

Now... I really like classical music.

During HS my dad would play it in the car while he drove us to school.

It was a really good way to start the day.

Unluckily I dont remember any names of composers or the songs.

Now, Im really into Neo-Classical music. :P

Let's see... right now it's a lot of Mahler, Berg, and Stravinsky since I bought myself enormous CD collections of each for my birthday. I was just listening to Petrushka last night, Amelie!

I feel like this is the third time I've mentioned Zemlinsky's Lyric Symphony, but goodness, what an amazing piece.

And a few more I've had on lately...

Grainger - Lincolnshire Posy

Prokofiev - Toccata

Rachmaninoff - Piano Concerto No. 3

Schoenberg - Kammersymphonie

Does anyone else know Vaclav Nelhybel's "Chorale" for Band?

Very slow but the chord structure is amazing and the movement of the inner voices---ahhhh!

I like some classical music. It has more meaning to it than other music.

Beethoven: 4. und 5. Sinfonien (4th and 5th Symphonies), Für Elise

Mozart: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik

Holst: The Planets

John Williams: Star Wars (This should really be considered a classic)

That; I would have liked to have seen. :D

Alas my classical education leaves a lot to be desired but I think we should also include;

Richard Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries.

An excelent choice, do you have a favorite recording?

I have so many recordings of my favorite pieces that it is hard to decide which one to listen to.

But at least on the Planets by Holst, I do have a number of recordings ranging from Tomita's all electronic recording to my current favorite By The Royal Scottish Symphony conducted by Neeme Järvi.

Love ya,

I have a lot of favorites in various genre's, but one abiding love is classical guitar.

I probably have 15 different recordings with Segovia, John Williams, and Christopher

Parkening. I was fortunate to have seen Segovia in concert twice before he died.

There is just something so romantic, sensual and peaceful about guitar music.

Heck I didn't even know they could go up that high! I just have a four burner and one to keep stuff warm. What kind of pies did you make?

I'm sure you'd rock it, girl!

That's all the matters.   Well me and the wife rode to Perkins for breakfast. As we were waiting for our food. Being it is Sunday There are a few gentleman in suits, my guess from church. I think to myself. I hope I never have to wear one of those monkey suits ever again. Now a nice dress maybe.   Hugs,   Kymmie

From time to time I've looked at 'Who Is Online" and I have consistently noticed that members are ALWAYS outnumbered by Guests by a wide margin, sometimes, like a minute ago, by more than a 10:1 margin.  I have never seen that before on an internet forum.  It can be explained partly by the nature of what this is, that it draws the curious and they are certainly welcome to read here, and to join, but it leaves me with a feeling of being in a fishbowl.  I wonder who ARE these people?  Donald Trump, is that you? Biden? Sinwar? Putin?  We can only guess.

So from time to time my brain gets a hold of information and puts it together with other information in weird way that get me thinking. I was reading about a nudes cruise that they are running out if Miami. It got me thinking that a transgendered person who is also a naturalist, has to be one of the most unlucky people alive. How does one manage that and does that ever come up? Not trying to make fun here, just genuinely curious. Things that make you go hmmmm....

No luck there, really. She's getting a signing bonus plus a little extra that I don't think would cover much in the way of the move, but it is something!   Oh my! I am glad to hear you're not passing anymore blood. I hope they figure it out soon! How distressing!   @April Marie @KymmieL @Mirrabooka @Willow @Justine76, thank you for the kind words and thoughts! We told our best friends last night. There were many tears. Now it's all about the work: selling the house (my wife's friend's son said he may want to buy it direct!), a job (a former employee of mine wants to bring me over to his company--and they're based outside of Tacoma!), and moving (just started going through what we don't want bring and donating things). So things have kicked off.   I'm not so sure of the job, it would be good to work with my former employee (he's great) but I fear the culture may not be super welcoming to someone like me--and the guy doesn't know I'm trans in any way. But I'll give it a shot as my authentic self and see what happens!

@LadypcnjI'm sorry. I know the feeling my mom thinks I'm going through a phase too although I didn't come out till April 17, 2023, so it was later in life. I was in denial majority of my life. I would love to hear more about this if you are comfortable sharing more of it.

I love fashion. I have over 100 dresses and 74 pairs of shoes. My walk-in closet is full of other clothes as well. I'm getting more shorts soon. SHEIN is awesome for quality and price. Just when you get a leather coat from them it's just the shell not the liner. Most of my shoes are from Torrid because I wear size 13 women's.

Unfortunately Oklahoma is about as bad as Texas but definitely not as bad as Florida. Especially as a minor!

I'm sorry @Ladypcnj I can only sympathize with you on that. Therapist on the other hand is crazy. I have had 16 in 10 years. It sucks having to have to go over things. I will say though after 6 therapists I didn't have to explain my history they simply read the history.

I followed you and will give you my advice when I can. It has happened to me a lot too. If you want to you can always message me and I'll get back to you ASAP. I understand your concerns.
