I searched Google some, but I've found mixed results, so I thought I'd ask here: I'm wondering, about on average from what you all have experienced--whether your own or of others here you know--how long must one take estrogen hormones as well as the pills that reduce/limit the amount of testosterone until hair stops growing on areas of some/most male human bodies (such as the chest)? I've read that it varies between hair growth in those areas stopping completely or at least the rate being lowered significantly; if any of you would happen to know how long someone on average must be on this combination until hair growth is lowered significantly, that would be great, too. Also, for the doses involved of the medication in my questions, assume they are a safe and decently effective amount.

I'm providing a poll in case any of you have a good idea/experience on this matter, but you don't want to explain much.

LightNebula,

You mentioned a poll but none was attached - I can add one for you if you would send me a PM with the questions and multiple choice answers.

Love ya,

Body hair only - slows down at about six months. It takes several years to be silky fine. But that may vary according to the genetic makeup of thebody. It will NOT affect facial hair nor pubic hair growth.

Hope this helps - I am on month seven.

Depending on how old you are when you start. I'm 24 and I noticed a decrease in the texture of body hair after a month or so, and a thining out also. I noticed the growth is also slowed significantly for me around 1-2 month period.

I am 51 and nearly 2 moths on HRT the hair on my arms, legs and armpits has slowed dramatically (I only need to shave my legs every couple of weeks); my facial hair growth has also slowed but no where near as dramatically, I only have to shave once a day not the twice that I used to.

Honestly what iv'e learned from my time on hormones (3 mo.s) is that any changes at all are pretty much going to take a really long time so it seems logical to me that it wouldbe 6+ months.

Hello,

I have been on HRT for 5months and the hair on my arms is just starting to thin out. I have noticed that torso hair is growing more slowly but not disappearing.

I'm month 8.

The body hair, leg hair, once shaved, comes back finer and silker and takes longer to return.....

The face? I haven't noticed much difference...although I'm in electrolysis and that takes care of that!

HUGGS!

I just started my 17th month on hormones, my leg, arm and underarm hair has slowed to a crawl, i shave weekly but i could go two weeks in between shaves, my chest hair has all but vanished, the couple hairs that still show up i pluck, but then i was not that hairy to begin with.

Hormones make little or no change in facial hair, i am doing laser and electrolysis to get rid of that.

Sorry i cannot recommend hormones or dosages as that is not allowed here.

Any real significant changes in anything usually take place within the 2nd and 3rd year on HRT. Of course there are cases where it's taken less or longer but that is the average.

I've been thinking it is a matter of belief.  They simply do not believe someone can validly be transgender and should not be allowed to practice their beliefs, but should be forced to practice their belief, that is, that there is no such thing as transgender and it is all mental illness/sin/hormonal imbalance.

I am really kind of sick of everybody who is not transgender deciding on what we need and do not need in the way of procedures. They act like all of this is play acting, and we can just apply cosmetics to our entire body. It might be refreshing if someone asked us directly what services we need in order to transition. I could say more as I am frustrated, but I do not want to violate the TOS.

Good luck on selling your wife on the idea of a different car. This could be tougher than negotiating with a dealership.   My wife agreed to my taking profit out of the company to buy a used truck once we found out the 2014 F-250 I currently had with 267,244 miles on it was needing new torque converter solenoids and the DEF system is chocking up. We bought a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, Duramax 4X4, with 163,000 miles. LTZ Off Road package, power mirrors, chrome step boards, rear camera, exhaust brake, and air lift bags on the rear suspension. It belonged to a friend of mine who also owned a mobile training business.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

At the other end and in our favor is Julia Serano's analysis of the Cass Report Fiasco   https://juliaserano.medium.com/the-cass-review-wpath-files-and-the-perpetual-debate-over-gender-affirming-care-8f56d0c4d0c6   Serano is a Trans Woman and a molecular biologist herself, guess whose evaluation I honor.

That's great @MaeBe hopefully the company will offer your wife a moving package with the new job position. That's how I was transferred from the St. Louis Metro area to the Indianapolis Metro area. The company covered all the moving expenses, as well as a three week stay in an extended living hotel while we chose an area to build our current home.   Good Luck and make it a happy adventure.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Birdie is the day care in charge of your MyChart, Hospital, and Doctors as to how you are cared for? There has to be some way to prove that you were born intersex and have a choice on your chosen pronouns. I wish we could do more for you. Keep pushing forward.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
