First time in-store purchases

The other day I had to go to the mall and decided that I wanted to buy some frilly panties for myself (normally I shop online). I checked the Victoria's Secret web site ahead of time to see whether the local store had something I liked, but all my potential selections were out of stock. When I arrived at the mall, I went to the large department store and found the lingerie department. When the very old saleslady asked if she could help me, I told her I wanted lace panties. She asked "What is her size?" Without embarrassment or hesitation I said they were for me. I should mention that I present as male, although I wear small ornate gold hoops in both ears. The woman guided me to the limited selection of frilly panties. Since I rarely go to the mall, I hadn't realized that the department in this store caters to older ladies. The woman said I had narrow hips and showed me a couple of pair in my size. I was somewhat disappointed in the offerings, but bought a pair anyway, since she was so kind – and probably paid on commission. I also purchased a package of plain cotton women's briefs (various colors), since I'm gradually replacing my "tighty whities" with more feminine undies.

 

Buoyed by my positive feelings, I went to one of the cosmetic chains at the mall and asked for nude eyeliner. The saleswoman here was likewise helpful, and asked whether I had used it before. When I told her no, she offered to show me how to apply gel eyeliner. Although the shop had several customers, I didn't feel uncomfortable at being made up.

 

I felt really good about myself the rest of the day!
