Afraid to work out.

I have a few people that want to work out with me. Now I haven't been In a gym in nearly two years. I'm not worried about the locker room stuff. As I have always changed or showered at home.

What these lovely ladies don't understand. Is I still have testosterone running through my blood. Even though it's hardly there. I'm worried about looking like she hulk, and that's not some thing I want. They don't understand what testosterone is capable of doing. Even if myevels are super low. Some where around a 6-8 year old boys.

Testosterone or not, one can tailor workouts to develop either lean muscle or bulk. For lean muscle development, higher reps with lighter weights is recommended, as well as body weight exercises plus cardio and stretching. Here's one article with some guidelines. I think it's great you're considering getting back to the gym - great for physical and mental health, and an opportunity to socialize with motivated, health-minded people. Good luck & have fun!

I need to grt back to the gym. I hosntly kinda miss it. The only difference was before it was for muscle, and cardio. Before I stopped going I could jog like 3/4 miles. Don't think I could jog a mile today

I have similar worries.  Before COVID came along, I used to go with my sister every day to an all-female gym.  Very private and secure, contract-members-only (and it wasn't cheap), shirt-optional, and with a big pool.  I stopped going when it shut down because of the virus.  And once the virus was over, I found out that I'm not really a girl.

I'd like to go back to a gym, but I don't want to work out around a bunch of guys.  And I don't think I'd be very welcome at my old gym anymore because of my androgynous appearance.  I'm still legally female and my anatomy is still mostly female, but the thought just makes me nervous.  I also found out that they've updated their rules, and trans women are not welcome.  So I'm guessing they probably wouldn't be very friendly to me anymore.

It also makes me sad, because I'd kind of like to work out with my friend who's becoming like a second sister to me.   We can do a lot of the stuff here at home, but I especially miss the luxury items, the resistance machines, and our pond isn't as nice as the pool.

I have a treadmill, and usally can walk for a few hours. As long as I have music. I'm probably going to start doing that soon.

That's a good way to start back. Don't overdo it but do some exercise you enjoy and can do regularly and work up to what you need to do to feel better about yourself and if your goal is to go to the gym again, go when you are ready, not when you think "they" think you're ready. Remember to be good to You.

Hugs

I used to get ma'am'ed during my 45 years of boy-mode and it drove me nuts.    Now that I have accepted girl-mode I find it quite pleasant.    Either way, being miss gendered is quite disturbing. I upon a rare occasion might get sir'ed by strangers and it's quite annoying.

Good morning Ash,    Welcome to TransPulseForums, I have a young neighbor who plays several brass instruments who lives behind my house. He is always practicing and I could listen to them for hours, well I guess I have listened to them for hours, and my favorite is when they play the low tones on the French Horn.    Best wishes,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good morning everyone,    I had my first cup of coffee this morning with my wife, my second was a 20oz travel mug on the way to the airport. Once clearing TSA, I bought another 20oz to pass the time at the boarding gate. I’m flying Indy to Baltimore, then driving to Wilmington, DE for my last teaching engagement at the DE State Fire School.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

In my opinion, the gender neutral version of sir or ma'am is the omission of such honorifics.   "Excuse me, sir" becomes simply, "Excuse me", or better yet, "Excuse me, please."   "Yes, ma'am" becomes "Yes", or depending on the context, "Yes, it would be my pleasure" or "Yes, that is correct."   Else, to replace it with a commonly known neutral term such as friend, or credentialed or action-role-oriented term depending on the situation such as teacher, doctor, driver, or server.   And learn names when you can. It's a little known fact that MOST people are bad with names. So if you've ever told someone, "I'm bad with names", you're simply affirming you're typical in that way. A name, just like any other factoid, requires effort to commit to memory. And there are strategies which help.

@KymmieL it’s as if our spouses are two sides of the same coin. We never know which side will land up. Loving or Disliking.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

almost 45 min later. Still in self pity mode. I cannot figure out my wife. I shared a loving post on Facebook to my wife. Today she posts, you are my prayer. Yet, last week she puts up a post diragitory towards trans people. Does she not relate to me being trans?   ???

Hi Vivelacors!!  Like everyone else said, it is never too late to be you. It does feel too late at times but we can still enjoy our femininity every day, moment by moment!!                                                  💗 Cynthia

Well we have the white rain, about 2 inches. Work is still terrible, with me making stupid little mistakes. Yet, to the boss it is the end of the world. Still on the hunt for another.   life just still sucks for me. I just wish I could be happy for a day. I'd even settle for a couple hours.   Kymmie
