The Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law today in 1990!! What a huge win for the disabled community!!

Thanks for the reminder.  While things are certainly still difficult it is usually possible to find a curb cut and many public places are accessible.  One only notices when confined to a wheelchair.  My wife has  been cfor many years and since my hips have really started to act up i'm unfortunately finding myself looking for that curb cut,  I was pissed when at the end of a pride parade  found myself unable to go to any booths or later events because the YMCA playground they were using had a continuous curb.  There was no way a power chair could make it.  Better but like the civil rights act it requires a desire to improve things as well as legislation.

Hugs,

Charlize
