I respect your right to your opinions, but I'm sorry, I disagree. The United States has a brutal, centuries-long history of racism including slavery, people of color still face racism and the effects thereof, and I don't see why a fear of the ramp up of racist persecution is hyperbole.

No one alive  is responsible for things that happened centuries ago!  No one alive is a slave owner!

The problem now a days is actual reverse racism, known as anti-whiteism.  I see reports of it coming from colleges, employers, etc.  Even movies that have anti-whiteism in them.   If you say you disagree, you aren't paying attention! That is on YOU.

"Reverse-racism", "anti-white sentiment", the "Great Replacement" or any other name for it are pure racist tripe used to manipulate people with fear and misinformation. Wanting people to have equality by identifying the systems that keep them from that equality isn't "reverse racism". Because people aren't literally enslaved in this country right now doesn't mean that everything's "better now". Outreach is better than divisiveness, so if you are interested in challenging your existing bias I'd be happy to share some information with on why what you've learned just isn't correct.

Who said anyone alive is responsible for slavery in the 1800's and before? I certainly did not. Although, since you mentioned it, there is still slavery and human trafficking going on around the world, including the US, and including trans people (look it up).

The negative effects of slavery and racism are still something that Black people are oppressed by (look it up).

I pay very close attention to these matters and I think you need to do some more learning.

The part I highlighted in bold font is hyperbolic.

----------

The best way to prevent this is urging our reps to pass the equality act. As its highly likely trump will be back because of the lack of self awareness of democrats, and democrat assets in the media.  Hyperbolic claims aren't going to stop trump.

----------

Want to stop trump? Here is how to do it.

Forget about climate change, it is a made up problem by the rich for the rich.  The rich fly on their private jets and lecture us, and the world about an imaginary foot print. Fear sells really well.

Climate change is some thing they don't like being questioned!  That is a major red flag when you can't question some thing.  Often times they pull the "conspiracy theory ( theorist )" card to shut down questioning.

Stop censoring your opposition, violating the first amendment repeatedly,  you aren't going to be told this is happening on government approved media sources.

Stop politically persecuting the opposition over political disagreements, as it open the door for them to do the same.

Stop tearing down the border wall and Secure the borders, deport all that are illegally here.

Stop violating constitutional rights.

Dump the toxic political correctness and wokeness, it doesn't help your cause.

Require establishment approved media sources to fairly report on both sides, no more media blackouts on the truth, facts.  The two party system would fall, and independents would likely win.

Term limits!  No more career politicians.

Definitely agree.

Where I live, what opposition there is towards transgender people is mostly due to the perceived link between them and the social agendas that big government loves. And when Trump is one of the very few to criticize big government openly, it's no surprise that he is popular. What I dislike is that the Republicans start with very valid criticism of big government and the Democrat Party and Socialism or leftism, but they just use it as a talking point and a tool. What have they spent their time talking about the last few years? Bathrooms and school sports. Not the economy, or inflation, or the climate change agenda, or crime or our borders or really anything else that's relevant to our lives.

Also, climate change is very, very real. Even some Republicans admit it. The fossil fuel industry has literally known about it for many decades with their own research, but promoted misinformation about climate change. (see article https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/exxon-knew-about-climate-change-almost-40-years-ago/).

You can literally see the effects of climate change by going outdoors and listening to the news of habitat loss, species extinction, wildfires, etc.

Climate policies are anti-human, anti-freedom, anti-pets too.  They hurt the poor the most due to increased energy, pump prices, raising costs of goods, as well as pump prices .  Obiden admits that.   https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidblackmon/2022/05/24/biden-says-the-quiet-part-about-the-energy-transition-out-loud/?sh=120a2c245306

Explain how making every thing cost more makes the climate be gooder?

I ask again,  why can't climate $cience be questioned? Questioning science is how you do science.

I strongly suggest you start questioning the climate narrative they are selling you.

Maybe a climate emergency would help people see what they have planned, it won't be happy fun time like the china virus lock downs!

I am in full agreement with you.  They need to get off the trans stuff, as it is not even close to as big of a deal they make it out to be.  I can count on one hand the bathroom problem claims, and still have a few fingers left over.

Both sides are the same, just in different ways.

what are you talking about even, all of the bills and laws that seek to erase us from the public sphere, to take away our health care, to literally make it legal to murder us if you are "frightened" of us are being put forward by one party there is no "both sides"ing this

Although I don't disagree on the points you make, I'd be hesitant to use stuff from establishment mouthpieces like CNN and NPR.

I don't think climate change is made up.  However the "rich" are able to insulate themselves from the effects, and so largely don't really give a [fill in the blank].

The burden of addressing climate issues should not be on the "less wealthy" while the incredibly wealthy continue to do as they please.  A private jet makes a bit more pollution than a single mother driving across town to her crap job.

I don't think merely acquiescing to the right-wing agenda would win trans-folks acceptance.  To them we the problem itself.  But I don't see how our eradication would solve any real problems.  All this culture war crap just distracts people from realizing how they are being used.

Your cherry picking of information and stating it as a full blown agenda on the scale of the repression of other ethnicities doesn’t make you right. I can only assume, with your brash rhetoric, that you feel discriminated against based on race and I’m sorry you do. The whole concept of reverse racism is to try to minimize or undermine the struggle others have and continue to deal with.

Thank you for having this rule.

This place is a haven for me.

I did not realize it until I joined ... wow .. just a couple of weeks ago.

I had never ever met anyone who had life experiences like I have had until here.

And now ... so many! Every day, there's someone new popping in, sharing their story. Being vulnerable in this most sacred of spaces.

Here - I do not ... no, I cannot do what I have done my whole life: insult myself.

Here, I can feel dignity.

That's where I want my passion to be in this space. To passionately help co-create that safe space for other Transgendered Beings.

Thank you.

And I do apologize if I got a bit carried away myself.

I doubt that many of us here are flying around in private jets.  LOL.

Nothing was cherry picked.  There is much more then that out there. The fact you aren't bothered by reverse racism, is troubling.    IBM is in trouble for discriminatory hiring practices now too!  https://www.bizpacreview.com/2023/12/12/ibm-chief-caught-coercing-managers-to-use-discriminatory-practices-in-hiring-process-leaked-video-shows-1419449/

Oppressing other races to lift others is wrong.  Discriminatory hiring practices based on race is wrong too, same with gender.  The divide and conquer agenda has sadly worked.  Divided we fall, united we stand.

Its ok to not explain any thing, as climate change is the biggest perpetual scam on most of the world.

Ask yourself what country benefits from climate change agenda, and controls almost all the resources?  Follow the money.  Good luck, to you.

Back on track, yes Project 2025 has some problematic, and some scary things, I do like that federal efficiency standards would go away.  Forcing efficiency makes things break down more because of unnecessary electronics, and raising the cost of the product on top of it.

I definitely agree on that part. Although I would prefer to just get rid of the EPA entirely. You wouldn't believe the modifications people have to do to vehicles and farm equipment of more recent models.  Plenty of examples of brand new equipment that simply won't run. The prices of old farm equipment are crazy high because the supply is limited and people want the stuff that the government hasn't ruined.

Yeah, dealing with climate change is inconvenient.  Denying it won't make it go away.

I'm becoming convinced that the human race is suicidal.

How did this thread go from expressing worry over an anti-trans agenda to debating the existence of climate change? I'm stuck between laughing and making a shocked face-

I'll just leave this here as food for thought for you wonderful folks out there. How conversations get hijacked:

SWAMPED:

S: Strawmen: Attack views or ideas, never expressed by the target.

W: Whataboutism: Deflect the discussion away from the subject.

A: Attack: Use brutal language to discourage the opposition.

M: Mockery: Use sarcasm to belittle the opposition.

P: Provocations: A false flag operations

E: Exhaust: Drown the opposition in details and technicalities

😧 Denial: Flatly deny any evidence

Yep, I can see that too, especially if satire goes wrong.  I can totally understand why the uneducated hoi polloi think that gender identity and sexual preference (and now, pedophilia) are one and the same, and it weaponizes their bigotry. I touched on this in another thread recently when I asked the question whether the LGBTQIA+ umbrella was actually too inclusive and should be split, in an attempt to stop this sort of nonsense. I don't know the answer; while I think it is important for non-cis and non-het folk to band together, it leaves us wide open to attack.

Good morning, everyone!   Sorry I've been absent so much. I truly miss the interaction with you all.    We have a new yellow Lab female puppy in the house as of Saturday so it's a challenge to find time to be here as we get her settled into a schedule, work on housebreaking and training, etc.    So, I'll check in as I can...when I can get a few minutes as she sleeps.   She slept 6 hours last night so we're making progress and we've been attentive to her schedule so no accidents in the house as of now.   She's consistently following the Sit command already - the wonder of puppy treats.    Be safe!!
    • April Marie
New puppy. New schedule for now.

Yeah, it is a real treat trying to combat the effects of an unwanted male puberty, or unwanted female puberty. Who will supply these kids with funding when they try to transition as adults? Insurance companies do everything they can to weasel out of paying for facial surgery, voice/speech therapy/voice surgery, and electrolysis. Not to mention the pain we all go through with these procedures that we may not have to endure as much with proper care at an early age. I cringe at what the next trans generations are going to face. The governor and his ilk, are typical of these super-majority R led states. Unless there is a huge change in the next 6 months, I am fearful of where things are heading. I feel like more bad stuff will unfold. I do not think they are done crucifying us.

Good morning    Work day today, no pool time, and no dress.  Just a uniform top and slacks.   Thank you for asking about my wife, @Ashley0616 , she is improving all the time and getting anxious to be rid of the med vac.  She keeps telling people a couple mor weeks be even with the speed at which she is recovering, I think that is more wishful than reality.   i received both compliments about my dress as well as my ability to speak before the congregation.  My little frog was right there with me but then he is a permanent resident in my voice.  Some days worse than others and I never know until I start speaking.  Maybe I need a frog exorcism.  Oh our church doesn’t do that.  Shucks.   well the humidity is coming back today along with possible rain and warmer weather.   I guess a lot of you are getting hit with smoke from Canada again this year. I recall last year you could see and smell it here.  It a shame to loose so many trees when we need them for climate control.  I was surprised to learn the South Carolina was the largest producer of wood in the states. We have a great deal of wet and swamp land that the plant and harvest and plant again.  While some makes it to the mills to become construction material, mose goes to one of several paper mills.  Those trees are clear cut and trucked to the mills to be cleaned mulched and processed along with recycled paper.the closest mill to here makes brown board which become packaging material like corrugated cardboard.   i guess we have rather ideal conditions for southern pine tree growing.  That along with cotton, rice indigo, tobacco and cash food crops fruits and vegitables and pecans, can’t forget the nuts.  You can take that more than one way and be right.   enjoy you day whether at work or at play.   Willow

I wasn't really aware of an emotional roller coaster possiblity when I started.    A few days in I realized i had been living with some tension that I was able to ignore until it went away. One morning it was just 'why I do I feel better than usual'?   So I googled around and found that it was possible to have such a result, I was thinking it would just take time for physical effects to work on my emotions.   Some talk about finally being able to cry, I have always been an excellent crier, so on HRT I cry REALLY hard.   But laughing was never really that easy for me, and now I laugh out loud way more often. Love that part of the roller coaster.
