Transfeminine Physical Exercises

Hi,

Does anyone know of exercises, or resources on how to exercise, so as to achieve a more feminine body? I'm especially interested in developing a rounder and wider bum, as well as wider hips. I know there are videos on YouTube and posts here on Transgender Pulse, but I don't know if they are accurate/scientifically informed/safe.

Thanks!

I had the thought that I could enhance my butt, hips, and thighs with exercise to develop muscles in that area, but my doctor said that while my Testosterone levels were very low, building muscle mass was unlikely. I am 4 clothes sizes smaller at my hips/butt and it is a source of dysphoria for me, so I was disappointed by this news. Genetics and body type can help with this, so it's not impossible to get some improvement.

People tell me my dysphoria is unfounded as they really don't notice my much smaller lower body, and I know that many trans people are super critical of their bodies, but I simply can't buy body suits which fit both top and bottom. There are surgeries to widen hips, increase butt and hip sizes, but I have mostly read negative reports of unnatural shape, or implants moving.

So my hopes are that one day (I have been on HRT for 5 years) my upper body muscle mass will reduce and give me a more acceptable shape. Still waiting....

Hugs,

Allie

I know @Jackie C. had some exercises to share at some point, but I haven’t seen her around these parts for a while. Are you out there Jackie?

I have been taking Barre and Pilates classes at our local YMCA this last year to help speed surgery recovery and there are several exercises that I do in those classes that have really helped put some muscle and shape on my glutes and hips. In these classes the instructors have focused some of their efforts into helping us do exactly what you are wanting. Every class is dynamic and we rarely, if ever, do the same exact motions and exercises each class.

The exercises we do are called hip abductor exercises and the work the hip and the back part of your glutes (buttocks). I also do adductors which target the inner thighs to completely work the area around the hip and thighs. It has not only firmed up my butt, it has added some muscle and has helped make my jeans fit very nicely in that area.

Here is an example video of what we do in Barre on any particular day. In this video you can do it without the band but you’ll need to left your leg up much higher to get a similar result. You can use a chair instead of the barre.

BTW: These classes at the Y are free once you have a membership. The instructors at our location are so good.

Hope this helps,

Susan R🌷

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷

@Abigail Genevieve, that is not an appropriate question, IMO.  This isn't the Army/McCarthy hearings.   Carolyn Marie

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?

Congrats to your family on the new addition!

Funny you think that I would be able to get through more than two sentences with how bad my stutter gets (joking, of course)   My topic would probably be mythology, random Japan factoids in my mind, or a favorite story   (Best option would be a fave story of mine including a lot of factoids on Japanese myths-)
