What's Your New Year's Resolution?

I want to lose A LOT of weight. Hopefully the VA will finally see I'm trying to do everything and finally approve me for gastric bypass surgery. I want to see my body fat shift where it should be. Prepare myself for SRS for next year hopefully but preferably this year would be nice.

I want to have more pride in myself and feel less shame.

I want to find a good gender therapist.

I want to develop my self-care practices to be more robust. 

I want to continue to grow as a musician.

I'm going to work on living more into my body.   Trying to work out a little bit ever day (even if it's just 4 minutes of jumping jacks and whatever).  I'm thinking about ballet... I guess that doesn't sound like a resolution, does it?  But I've resolved to explore the idea of doing ballet as not only an adult learner, but as a trans guy who doesn't pass, and is deeply intimidated by the super gendered, aggressively pink nature of the average ballet studio.  

I'm going to try to cut back my hours at work to make time to heal from the last few years.

I don't call it a new year resolution but I have fully stopped eating food and drinking no beverages with added sugar. So no sweets on me either.

Whew I couldn’t do that. I don’t have a lot but I couldn’t completely give it up.

I believe any change you make is a resolution. Congratulations and keep it up. I couldn’t do ballet because my feet are in constant pain. I have to wait till February 28 to see a podiatrist. Plus bad knees and back. I can touch my toes so it’s not too bad.

It is not easy, but I have a strong mind when it comes to stop eating sugar. I now been without any added sugar for 3 days, and honestly it is not to difficult yet.

I put somewhere else that this year I was going to start living life for me & stop putting everyone else & what they need ahead of me. 

 

I have had a good think this past few days & know what I am going to do now. 

 

I'm also on-board with the 0 sugar. It really helps a ton with losing weight. Even a little bit for me, I end up gaining 10lbs. I've got probably another 50, 60lbs to lose before I'm at an ideal weight. I know that's do-able since I dropped almost 50 in 2023.
