I was just catching up on some reading, and I came across a posting regarding The NY Times OP-Ed piece speculating on Taylor Swift's sexuality.

The level of hate and vitriol against anybody who is trans or those who support them, seems to be out of control. When does this carousel of hate stop?

Both T. Swift and the Queer Community are known for being fabulous, absolutely fabulous in performance art.  My personal feeling is that her "team" should take it as an elevation and not a liability. But I do agree that the 5K word essay shows that a has-been writer is showing their uselessness.

The political "right" turns on anyone who shows the slightest ability to think, or be kind, or have empathy.  They are all "woke," whatever the heck they think that is.  Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Robert De Niro, you name it.  Of course it doesn't matter to many people what celebrities think or do.  But it's just more fodder the "red meat" loving base.

Don't be mistaken, the anti-trans propaganda also comes from the liberal side, not that I consider the mainstream NY Times all that much further left of the right (i.e.: not very progressive).
