 Which is harder? Creating a new good habit or staying with a harmful one? Can you overcome a harmful one?

Staying with a harmful habit is harder because it causes ongoing misery in your life and the longer it is practiced, the more deeply embedded in your consciousness it becomes - you become increasingly degraded. Creating a new habit requires consistent self-effort which may seem like a strain at first and even for a long time, but with practice the good habit becomes progressively natural and spontaneous. And as you witness the result of the good habit in your life as greater ease, it inspires you to continue that good habit and even to adopt more good habits to accompany it. The rewards are exponential because by improving yourself, you become an inspiration to others whether or not you realize it.
