Tuberous Breasts

Hi!

Does anyone know how to get breasts to stop growing in a tuberous shape and to grow in more "typical" pattern?

Thanks!

I know, leaning over and it looks like I have sand filled tube socks on my chest. 🙄

Tuberous breasts are not all that uncommon on transgender females. One of the big debates is whether the lack of progesterone. There has been great debate in the lay public about this, as well as healthcare providers who manage transgender patients. There is clearly a divide, and the other really big problem is that there are few studies supporting the routine addition of progesterone. The other issue is that progesterone is poorly studied to begin with. The other point is that cisgender females are blessed with endogenous progesterone and estrogen working in concert with one another, so there is that.

Yes, I was wondering about progesterone, @KatieSC. I've heard mixed opinions.

I wonder if breast massage and/or exercise would help to "loosen" things up/get blood flowing?

That will not likely be any help. You could get reach out to s plastic surgeon who has experience with transgender female breast augmentation and see what can be done. Progesterone makes sense, but there are some questions about benefit vs risk that have never been adequately addressed, and that includes the cisgender females as well. The micronized versions have had some better acceptance, but again, there is limited information from few studies.

Just for perspective, they're pretty common for cis females too.  Its only movies, magazines, and porn that make us think of the "ideal" breast form.  There's all shapes and sizes.  Back in my "trying to be female" days I went to an all-female gym.  And being all-female (and having a pool), shirts/bras were optional.  Actually, it made me feel better about myself even in my girl form seeing a variety.

If the form really bothers you, there are medical professionals who can help.  Since it is common for cis women to feel insecure about this, even a Google search for "tuberous breast correction surgery" will pull up listings in your area.  You can then speak with somebody in the office and ask if they are familiar with transgender patients, and check reviews to see if they are LGBTQ+ friendly.
