A Positive Agricultural zoom conference

    Yesterday bi was somewhat honored to be part of a Zoom conference about Silvo Pasture (the grazing of livestock in conjunction with trees).

It was done by the USDA.  While filling out the agricultural  census we mentioned grazing small ruminants in our sugar bush to control invasive plants, especially wild rose.  Well we were then asked if they could film our animals at work to help others.

    Several years have past since that film was made and it has been out in the agricultural community for some time now, along with 8 other films showing other silvo practices.

    I was amazed when ,i had a chance to look at the names of the participants who were posting questions and listening to us speak, at how many showed chosen pronouns after their names.  So many out and open about it.  I felt a bit ashamed as I don't do that any more on Zoom.  I figure i'm a woman and my pronoun battle has passed (most of the time).  

     Times are definitely changing and for the best, despite efforts to stand against the tide.

I agree that posting of pronouns, even among cis-folk, is a growing trend.  I like it, because it engenders respect and acknowledges that not everyone is the same.  Respect ought to be a given, unless someone proves they don't deserve it.
