So i return to the forum, after a whole lot of real life drama..

Anyways onto the question! Earlier i was having a somwhat silly convorsation with a friend of mine, about birth control, and the idea popped up to me, "what if someone who is biologically male started taking women's birth control?"

an odd thing to talk about with a friend i suppose, but yeah. any input?

Honey.....

That wouldn't be a very good thing at all!

Women's birth control is Estrogens and female hormones of sorts and can have a VERY bad effect on someone taking them without a prescription!

They are prescribed on a per case basis and a woman will receive what is correct for her system.....

Otherwise it is illegal and dangerous!

How about that?

Do not arbitrarily take those.....very dangerous!

There ya go!

I don't think birth control pills have enough "power" to change you, unless you pop in like more than a dozen per day?

I don't know though, that's based on my readings of the contents in the pills and in concentrate pills used in HRT.

Modern birth control have doses of estrogen that are waaayyy to low for our purposes. In fact some BCP's have no estrogen in them at all! It's true.

In regards to HRT: The only pratical path for transition is with a therapist and an endocrinologist with experience treating transsexual people.

Nooooo hun, unless u hav NO other option...?

Birth control is ethynol estrogen (excuse spelling, summer brain ^.^)

testosterone kicks estrogens (rear end) and really wont feminize u w/out prolonged high dosages!

It'll b dangerous to ur liver in the "looooooooong" term so investigate other options^^ (cuz if u damage that liver now, u'll end up paying 40$ a week for transdermal estrogen when u start real hrt)

If u hav an anti-androgen then birth control if fine tho!

I say if ur abuv 16, wait it out cuz most of puberty is done

under 16? try and get your doctor behind u, *ask for confidentiality* but red lights are eye yellowing, dark purple patches of skin, ect!

If ur 18+, see a doctor!

I have been taking the "pill" for about a year now.

The reaosn i started is because i wanted to feel more femminine and more in touch with my female side.

I kinda cheated by having my friend get double perscritions and then having me take one off her.

So far all i have noticed is that i'm slightly more moody and have a really down patch when i stop taking them, i guess a bit like a period.

I dont know about thde health implications or anything like that, and i have never felt ill as a result of taking them once a day?

Cassie,

I don't know about the laws in the UK but here if you give someone a prescrition drug without a prescription it is viewed as dealing drugs and that is what your friend is doing and whoever is filling double prescriptions or wrting them is also viewed as a dealer of controled substances, so the risks aren't all just health.

Taking birth control pills without a prescription and a doctor to monitor is dangerous for women!

It will not feminize you enough, if at all, to be worth the risks.

Read up on the side effects, blood clots, heart attacks and strokes to name a few - get a doctor and do HRT the right and safer way!

Love ya,

Sally

I heard somthing called chemical somthing if you use a specific type of birth control and it lowers testosterone levels, they actually inject BC into pedophiles beacause the testosterone make them act the way they do, and its more humane than cutting off their testicles. If a trans person used it, it would have the same effect.

Your wasting your time, results will be minimal to nil.

HRT does not make you feel "more feminine" or "more in touch with my female side". Those are myths. Myths repeated endlessly by misguided cross-dressers.

Sorry to be blunt, but: Were you born transsexual or are you are cross-dresser? Your info on screen says "transsexual".

You have been told by several people here about the outright stupidity of what you did. If you are transsexual it is time to find a good gender counselor and get on a supervised HRT regimen, doing what you did can lead to many serious medical complications from liver damage and failure to death. Out of pure frustration I considered internet hormones but my counselor and shrink finaly got their butts in gear and I start HRT next month; however I was looking at 2mg Estradiol not BCP's.

If the risk of serious medical conditions doesnt scare you then consider this 30 x 2mg of Estradiol from walmart is 4$, liver failure, DVT or the like will cause you to have to use the patch witch is 40$ per month, that is if you can even continue with the transition. I dont know how old you are but it is always too young to risk the kind of medical problems you are risking by doing what you are doing.

Don't ruin the future

Well - good responses. Bith Control Pills are useless for feminization because of the dosage AND because if you use the ones designed for full 30/31 days, they have progesterone which actually impedes estorogen to an extent.

And if Birth Control Pills worked, doctor's would prescribe them instead of Primarin or Estadoil. And remember, it is the T-blockers as much as the estrogen that works with HRT.

So taking BC pills exposes you to risks, but provides little benefit.

Woke up early to prepare Mexican food for lunch as I had a friend coming over, but he forgot today is mother's day and cancelled.    Looks like I'll be eating Mexican food for dinner tonight.

My condolences to the people of WA.  A huge warning about that type of politician though, those who broadcast the Anti-Trans message rarely if ever attend to any important legislative issues to benefit their constituency.  They are mostly single trick dogs, whose trick is to empty their food bowl and whine for more food.

This stuff seems to be the major talking point for "conservatives" these days.  Just shows that they don't know what they're talking about, and don't particularly care.

Mother's Day, so I thought I'd do the right thing and cook. So, we got Chinese takeaway! 😆   Actually, we planned it days ago, just thinking that tonight we would treat ourselves. Complete with a lovely bottle of Cab Sav.

Exactly.   A plain old "Good morning" should always suffice, for example, whether the recipient expects a gender specific greeting or not.

Hi awkward yet sweet, yeah, I tried dumping her but my current health insurance keeps directing me back to her as my primary, yet there are other doctors to choose from, but they are far away.

Hi Birdie, I can relate to that.

This sort of stuff makes my blood boil. A prospective state politician has gained approval from his party's state council to run in their state election next year.   He once stated that the + part of LGBTQIA+ is where pedophiles are categorized.   For clarity, in Australia the Liberal party is our main conservative party. They have lurched further to the right over the past 10 years or so. Our main progressive, union backed party is Labor.   WA Liberal party approves Dr Thomas Brough, candidate who linked LGBTQIA+ community with paedophiles - ABC News

Happy Mother’s Day    I have to be at church earlier than normal for a mic check.  I have been going over what I am to say, both silently reading and reading it aloud.  My concern is that my voice will freeze as it sometimes does.     I felt I was honored very highly yesterday by my minister and supporter on my journey.  He and another minister are Standing together to become the next co-moderators of the Presbyterian Church (USA).  They included me to receive an advance copy of their initial submission.  I was one of only 6 people listed on the email to receive this.  Later this week it will go out to all the voting commissioners that will be in Salt Lake City for the meeting.  I have asked to be allowed to attend the meeting to support him and Rev CeeCee Armstrong, whom he is standing with.    We’ll time to get ready .   Willow

Nup. Not an option. You need to keep going and keep us all in the loop, and we need to keep seeing your beautiful smile!   Party, schmarty. I'm 61 and haven't had a birthday party since I was 30. Even that was just a crummy meal at the pub with a few friends who we have since lost contact with. Don't sweat it.

On behalf of everyone reading your entries here @Sally Stone, THANK YOU for creating such an informative thread. But there is one thing you might have neglected to say at the end, and that is, "And they all lived happily ever after!" ❤️   Reno sounds like a pretty good place to call home. I understand the attraction of living in a place that is not too big but not too small.   I look forward to reading your subsequent posts about specific aspects of your journey.
