I've started playing Rune Scape, I've been staying up all night, and dreaming about the game... some very cool dreams I admit. I think, since on rune scape you can be what ever and whoever you want to be, that the reason I like playing it so much is because I don't notice my body, I socially interact without my body holding me back. But again, it's kind of unhealthy. I'm staying up all night, sleeping most the day, and just not getting out and having normal social interaction... I feel like I have to play rune scape because I don't know were to go to get that normal daily interaction... I can't get a job... I'd really like to though... and Boy Scouts is only once a week. I quit fencing because financially we just can't afford it, and I felt kind of awkward there, and I was afraid of getting outed too. Like there was a comment about how I had small hands...

I'm no good with Martial arts... High level activity is hard for me anyway just because of my binder. It rolls up, and it constricts my breathing a bit, and is really uncomfortable. (I can sorta HANDLE it but it just takes the fun out of it.) I can't join the fire company right now because of my gender problems... I REALLY want to try EMT work, I wouldn't mind being an EMT with the others knowing I'm trans, but you have to be 16 to even take the EMT class. I'm just not really sure what to do........

I used to be online game addicted and for the same reasons ultimately you sound like you're gettin into it allowed me to "live" without being that body. Play hoooooours at a time (like 18 hours, eat while playing, sleep, half the time think of something to do with it while sleeping, then game some more......) . Basically you're trying to replace the physical life with the game life in a sense cuz the game life is better. (Esp if you can be male in character and accepted by any and all as that 100% which I definately was. It was as close to "the life I always dreamed of" as I thought I could get). I thin k a LOT of trans peeps will relate.

BUT you do need something real. All the "you" you're giving to the game could be used somewhere real. I know, pretty hard with no dough. Stick around though, maybe some peeps your age will have some "free" suggestions.

I became a gamer at the start for that exact reason; to be able to be myself and be treated that way. I couldn't do in in real life at all back before I started HRT. Now I just enjoy my games.

If you feel the need for human interaction you could go volunteer somewhere, like at the SPCA. I know it might sound lame but it will be good for school(in canada our students need a certain amount of 'donated hours' towards somewhere to graduate) and it gets you out there doing something good.

Yeah, getting addicted to games is one of my things too. Halo 3 is one of my crazes. I'm still addicted to it but I think I can relate to the Runescape thing.

I was addicted to runescape and gaiaonline for quite along time. It is cool that you can go on and immediately everyone sees a male. I guess I stopped playing it because my friends stopped playing and started to come over and hang out. I guess you could try and step away from it. I do that every now and then with Halo when I realize I've been playing from 12 pm and it is now 1 am. Sorry that I couldn't help much.

Do it! Not right now, but when you can. Cause it's totally awesome. And I don't know about where you are, but in my area you can't be in fire without your EMT anyway.

As for gaming... never really tried it, to be honest. Flash games are fun though.

Well, to be a paid fire fighter you need your EMT here I think for most places. thanks for the responses. I could probably volunteer at the hospital...

definite yay for volunteer work! The possibilities are endless - animals, kids, LGBTQ centers, junkies, etc. The only thing that might be an issue is your transportation, but you could always try the bus.

If you're looking for activities on the cheap, check out a park nearby your house. Most offer classes and lessons in everything from painting to martial arts for as low as $40 for the summer.

If you're also looking to make money, think about offering services to neighbors for cash - you could walk dogs, mow lawns, wash cars, etc - all you have to do is make up a flier with all of your services and fees with your contact info, and distribute it in every mailbox.

Well there's busses were I live, it's a bigger town, so if I get a bus schedule I suppose I could. Especially if I volunteer at the hospital because it's right down the road...

Hello there :)

well As for gaming...I know how it can consume your time up and make you wanna play...makes you wish you could be sucked into the game be who you are in the game...but you see you can be who you are in the game because you are the one who created them..games can be fun...but if you start thinking only of games then sadly...your real life will slowly fall apart...it may seem childish but say you are a melee dealer with rune armour :) well you can always make your own rune armour in real life...you could always Role play with your friends..heh I still role play...you can even do it by yourself..make a story as you go along...write down your story you made up.. you can always play games...but after awhile doing something real feels so much better then a game. also..some games have blocks that parents can set up to let their children play only during what times seem fix so u won't be up all night playing it thats another option or make goals for yourself like I will take the dog for an hour walk before going online...then you get used to doing that so u get fresh air and can play online. as for jobs since your still 15 i am assuming that you are still in highschool well if you are in grade 11( o.o normally would means u skipped a few grades..also it might be different where u live) you can apply for CO-OP which means u can go into a work place and earn ur school credits so say you wanted to be a dogcaretaker well you would go in and be taught how to be one and be graded on how u do at your placement u can change placesments to find one that sticks with u that way u can test any job that you well interested in also if you do a good job or you talked to the employer you maybe able to get CO-OP over the top which means u go to a workplace you earn credits but you also get payed for being there by the employer. ^__^ also with volunteer work try to get into a place that will teach you 1st aid or other plus because employers like to see that someone in their staff knows 1st aid,CPR, ex. ^^ wow i sure can type alot for one post...sorry

Hope this helps...

runescape is fun...i played it for a short while but just kinda lost interest...now cuz of you i wanna start playing it again, lol

Ive been thinking about getting into WoW for the same reasons. I already stay up all night and sleep during the day which makes me apprehensive about getting into these games, though :P

it's funny, at one point i wanted to play rpg games in a sort of "cybersex" way, like create my character and....yeah. i decided against it cuz it just seemed way weird  i dunno if thats a trans thing too but it was the same logic as what you were saying..

I have been a gamer for many years now. Studying in the game graphics field (concept art and compositing).

I started out with FFXI online, played that for about 4 years then moved onto WoW. I've been there for 2 years now.

Gaming is very time consuming and i think you tend to want to more in the game than you do real life simply because you can be who you feel you really are. I think my game playing was probably leaning toward addiction. 10-16 hours a day was good. I do remember a 56 hour stretch on a holiday weekend...

While online gaming can teach you alot of valuable lessons (delayed gratification and working for what you get), it can be so much more. FFXI was the catalyst for my transitioning decsion. I began questioning why I chose the characters I did and why I presented myself the way I did/do. All my online friends thought I was male and I found that I was so very comfortable with that. Even that brought up more questions for me.

At the end of it all, I have ended up with some very good friends (yes, I have met a few of them IRL), learned some valuable money saving lessons, learned more about myself and am comfortable with my decisions and am in a long term relationship with my original linkshell leader >.>

If you're having a hard time coping with life and RS, STAY THE intercourse AWAY FROM WARCRAFT. I used to play WoW 75+ hours a week, to the point where it was ALL I did.

NEVER buy WoW. It WILL steal your life. I see you know the feeling already.

This other game wouldn't happen to be second life would it? I got really into it at one point especially when I finally figured how to make outfits for the people that where not just textures. I have no clue how to make cloths in real life so it was a huge creative outlet.

I've played wow too and while I enjoyed the instances with friends I despise pvp and the quality of people that I came across while playing was questionable. Like for instance this one guy who in the middle of a instance took his chest armor off and started dancing and singing he was too sexy for his shirt in voice. >.< we all wiped because of that and I just wanted to kick him. The moral of the story, pugs suck; that and the sims is better. :P

Oh games, tell me about it! I don't play them as much nowadays, but when I was a teen (15 years ago erhm) I got addicted as well. But so were my friends! everyone I knew was addicted. I don't know 1 person who played games who wasn't addicted! :D not fully go with the idea that it's due to escaping reality, it's just plain fun and you get into it and forget time and everything around you, AKA: fun. But you must know your own limits also, I always say no play before work, but after it. The reward must come after the work. That kinda works for me.

I play World of Warcraft like its my job. I used to play runescape in high school. But WoW is so much better. Anyway coming from a semi-addicted gamer. Its okay to use it to escape sometimes as long as your not lost in it. And it sounds like you are involved in other things, so thats good. If it starts taking away from that, then worry. But for now, use it to learn how to express yourself. Its an amazing thing to be able to socialize without the presence of your body. Anyway. Have fun man! Thats what is most important

Well they can't just change sex once they are made. Think of character creation as the pregnancy phase and time just fast forwards to where the game starts for them.

Mr. Awsome.

I'm about to turn thirty. I used to play video games too much too. One day, somewhere in my twenties I really felt sad about all the time in my life I'd spent playing video games. Time I had nothing to show for. So I listed my PS2 on Amazon for ten bucks less than anyone else and some kid got a new system as well as five of my coolest games thrown in (I didn't even advertise that part) and a couple of cool controllers for Christmas.

I also lived for a long time at my house without the internet. I had a computer, but it was strictly for creative work. No games, no toys. They sucked my time.

Then everyone started to think I had all kinds of discipline because I got really far in my kung fu practice, I invented some things, I started a business, and I was constantly doing experiments and prototyping new cool stuff. No, I'm not Ms. Discipline. . . . I just cut the stuff out of my life that was holding me back.

On the other hand, playing the game may contribute something to your life. Look at it as a balance. You need to have some fun, right? You need cool outlets to socialize? Maybe there's some other ones. What functions can you find other, more healthy ways to serve?

Just my two cents. I probably won't have the net at my next apt. either, since having it here is sucking too much of my time.

I started estrogen (oral) a little before age 50 and not the maximum dose either and also no blockers. It almost immediately accentuated the feminine features I already had, and expanded my already soft areas of skin, widened my hips and distributed more fat to my thighs and increased my breast size. There seem to be some subtle changes to my face too though I doubt I am any more passable than I was a decade ago, it’s just nice to not use breast forms anymore. I haven’t switched to injections as planned and there really hasn’t been much change after the first 6 months and my body fights back; my E levels dropped and T increased even on the same dose so it has not really done much for me. It sounds like injections are the far better way to go, plus progesterone after a while if the doctor will prescribe that.    As is often said, everyone is unique and one’s mileage may vary, and what works for one person may not for another.

This is so sad. The violence in general in Washington State seems to have ramped up a lot, and gender-based violence and hate crimes seem to be worse as well. My parents once lived in Renton but I don’t care for that city and never go there. I don’t think it really matters though as crimes like this can happen anywhere and often are perpetrated by a male who was in a prior relationship with the victim.

I’ve never been in therapy specifically labeled as such, butI think IFS therapy evolved from treatment of dissociative identity disorder in which one’s various alters or parts are treated as an internal family, and each part is like a separate individual who can be spoken to individually or have dialogue with other parts. In a person with full DID, doing that supposedly helps to break down the dissociative barriers that cause that person to not be able to remember what they did for parts of a day or longer. This was the case with me.   Anyone’s mind, though, can be thought of as being compartmentalized to some extent and we all can have an inner child and various aspects of our selves, yet the dissociation is never to a degree that it causes problems like with DID. But the same aspects of working with an internal family or different aspects of self, like the inner child, the rebellious teen, the persecutor parental type, etc, can help heal trauma nonetheless. I think many of us do have sides of us that we don’t like, or others don’t like, and it can be useful to examine how they came about and what purpose they serve as they are often a means of self-protection or coping with anxiety.

We had soup and steamed rice for dinner tonight.  Simple, basic, feed-a-ton-of-people kind of food.  With strawberries for dessert!  We have a huge strawberry patch, so I spent a couple of hours this afternoon picking.  And there's some left over, which I put in the downstairs kitchenette.  Time for a late night snack!     Outside of meals, I mostly live by nibbling on fruit and a few green things.

Well, it is officially summer.  85 degrees outside the last two days, and GF is sick and irritable.  I have to curl up under heavy blankets in my nest, because she's got the AC turned down to the point I expect to see icicles growing on the ceiling.  This is what life is like when your partner is an arctic creature. I should be used to it by now, but just when I think its nice and warm, she has to freeze me.

Been using the wok on the back deck a lot the last few months.  Just got another stock of udon noodles from Amazon and we are using those in the stir fry with onions, peppers and a spicy peanut sauce.  I did this often in the 90's too, but back then I was just using a standard Coleman camp stove instead of this high BTU wok burner.  I've had the burner for a couple years, but haven't been using it regularly until recently.

Tangent, adjacent, opposite...  It's still rock n' roll to me.  I don't know about the "in god we trust" part of the money, but I like the lady with the scale.  And then I look left at the Indian statue on my mantel of Guanyin feeding a drop of liquid to the dragon at her feet.  In god we trust?  The lady with the scale?  Maybe this is too binary.  And then on the other side of Guanyin is that kind of pelican wood bird that sits two feet tall that I hauled back from South America through the Panama canal.  The beak broke in 1998 and I carefully saved the pieces (as I usually do) and attached them back about a decade ago.  I used a drill to make a small hole and then put a finish nail in there.  Then a hole on those two pieces that needed to be attached.  Upper and Lower beak.  There is still a seam showing.  I could cover that up, but the beak is a bright yellow and well, it's better with all the pieces in place and I don't mind seeing the crack.  I guess that is the tangent and the other two are the opposite and adjacent. -money  Why don't coders always code the "-" action in their search fields?  It's not that difficult!

Definitely points to learn and keep in mind.  A bunch of stuff I had put in mental "cold storage" thawed out a bit there and ready again to run through my mill.  As said, a bit long and as usual from her a tad bit challenging.  Overall I see it and can use it as a working hypothesis.
