Would My Face Change Much In Two Years?

Haiii, I'm just a little bit worried about my face, I'm not on HRT or anything, will be in two years time. The thing is, my face look like a real female face (oval/heart shape with a hint of male features) now and that makes me happy since it matches my soul and heart. However, I am 16 years old girl in a male body, I'm just worried if my face would suddenly become real manly, go square or real big by the time I'm 18 years old....

My body is a very fast working body, I'm very skinny, I produce a LOT of acne and my body can develop so fast, once I had nice arms and legs, now they look manly and have muscles even though I NEVER dare try to exercise or anything because my body just love giving me muscles real fast. To others I may be lucky but this is terrible for me!

I know it's IMPOSSIBLE to exactly know if I would develop a manly face in two years time but I would like something to keep calm. Is there anything that could may be possible?

you might want to talk to your dr about anti-androgens, they would minimize or block the effects of testosterone. This would stop any further masculinization of your body.

you might be just fine based on what i've seen

i myself didn't lose my "youthful" looks until my 20's.

---or I looked 18 ( or younger) until i was in my mid-20's.

now i look 21.

maybe you SHOULD look into hormone blockers.

I probably haven't varied much in how I viewed myself since 17 or 18.

There was no internet or resources available. :(

YMMV

You milage may vary. When you get on HRT - if you are already genetically inclined - you may get great results. Look at yourself as a blend of your parents. You will just get something more feminine when the estogen kicks in. BUT I think your question has more to do with what happens if you DON"t get on hormones in the next two years. Your testosterone will masculize you a bit, but it takes six or seven years to fully work, and you may or not already be on that path.

As others have mentioned you may want to see if you can 'halt' puberty until you become of age and can reasonably make a decision where you want to go with your life. Are you in the care of a gender specialist therapist yet? They can help you with that decision.

And my avatar? me after seven months. But I never had a super masculine face - genetics and all.

Hope this helps.

I was Very Masculine in every way, body, and facial features.

I felt before hand there was No Way I could pass without some FFS.

With patience, the magic of HRT, along with genetics, you can and will

be surprised by how much not only your body will change but your

facial features will start taking on the appearance of a woman.

I pass easily, had no surgeries,no Botox or fillers.

Remember ladies,Passing is 95% attitude.Know you pass and you do.

As some one suggested androgen blockers might help you alot. But...going through your teen years with out HRT is not always devestating thing physically.

CorinainHighschool.jpg

There I am...no HRT. I have had zero ffs...and I am passing just fine. At the time I was able to press 1000 lbs with my legs. Relax...miracles do happen. You are young and once you start HRT things will go the way you want. If you cans tart HRT before the beard starts you are way ahead of the game.

If I may ask..what is the hold back on getting on hrt?

I have a picture of me at my biggest most masculine with facial hair.

I was Huge,my youngest's hand barely covered the top of my shoulder.

Now I am a little bitty thing,as my girlfriends call me,teeny tiny woman.

When I have shown my old self to others, they universally say,"There is

no way that man is you." I don't even look like the same person,he looks

like one of my brothers, not me.That is the magic of HRT at it's finest,

allowing others to see the real me,with little left of the old me.As I like

to say;The woman on the inside,is now a woman in the world.(smile)

I think you will be fine. You can look into anti-androgens, but I don't think you really need them. If you still have a feminine face, I don't think it will change much in two years. The shape probably won't change, because the shape is the shape of your skull, and that's probably fully developed.

Thanks sooo much for answering everybody! First of all, I won't like go on anything at all because I'm just not ready to tell my parents who I really want to be, since they are pressuring me into becoming a man and they think allowing me to a "girly boy" in their view would make me become a man o.O I have no idea what they really meant. Anyway, I hope you're right about my face being fully developed and won't change much, or if it goes manly, hopefully HRT will do the magic :)

Once again, thanks for answering!

Ah but anti Androgens will stop testosterone from doing it damage, delaying masculinizing that much

longer.Letting the natural feminine self come more to the surface.Let your parents see the girl you

are meant to be.Why be who you are not?She doesn't and wont go away, she is who you truly are.

Sounds like that testosterone is flowing. Arms and legs becoming muscular and manly, lots of acne..... There's a prescription cream I urge you to check out called Benzaclin, I used to suffer from acne and get breakouts and all about 2 -3 years ago. I HATED it and nothing really worked until I went for a checkup with my pediatrician and he looked at my face and said that it's acne and he didn't want my face to scar so he wrote me a prescription for Benzaclin. This cream worked absolute wonders on me and not only is my acne now gone, I have no scarring left on my face and it feels amazing to have beautiful facial skin :D . Now I only apply a little dab of it if I see a little spot on my face or if I get a small pimple I just put this on and it's gone! I wish I would have known about this stuff years ago.

You said you're 'very skinny', how tall are you and how much do you weigh? That's not healthy for you and you NEED exercise. If you go jogging that's gonna give you your exercise that you're body needs while not making your body and arms all muscular, rather it'll tone out your body. I hope your not starving yourself or refraining from eating the required amount of food?

Your body doesn't love to give you muscles, your body is male (sorry if that offends you)and is currently at a stage where the testosterone is rushing through your veins and helping you bulk up on muscle and all. I'm a 16 year old guy so I know exactly what you mean.

Also, you said that it's IMPOSSIBLE to know how your face is gonna be 2 years from now but it IS possible to know pretty accurately how your gonna look in 2 years time and more. I'm not saying it;s an option for you to find out but their exists special computer software and technology out there that they use that can show you how you will look. I forgot what this process is called but it does exist, just letting you know.

Hope this helps :)

Are you shaving yet? What about the adam's apple? I didn't start shaving until I was 18, but if I knew then what I know now, possibly I could have spared myself from some painful and costly hair removal. My adam's apple became very prominent and I wasn't able to have it taken care of until a year ago, but it always was a dead giveaway.

Ive been on blockers for a few months now and though I never really got anywhere with male puberty as it was (next to no body hair, voice hardly deepened, no adams apple etc etc) it certainly helps mentally. Theres something safe feeling about nowing that nothing is going to change and not freaking out about seeing a hair on your face in the mirror or whatever. Psychiatrists and the like are also a lot more willing to hand out blockers than hormones and its easier to get past the family as well, they see it as "giving yourself time to think" (as if its a decision to agonise over for me  ). There are also financial considerations as regards the future, blockers are both cheaper and a lot less painful than electrolysis 3 years later or however long down the line.

At the end of the day its about stopping physical changes but in my mind it also promotes mental changes, not giving myself time to question my feelings but giving myself time to develop them.

I want to hold back on this one until more solid information comes out.  The defendant is claiming it was accidental, but the Trans side is demanding a hate crime scenario which an accident would preclude.  Pardon the phrase, but as I read this folks are jumping the gun here.

Well, here's the big questions:  What does it mean to be masculine?  What does it mean to be a woman?    I've been around a lot of rule-bending in those areas.  There's all sorts of "traditional" views about what men and women do.  Men work on mechanical things, defend/protect, earn a living, play rough sports, etc.  Women cook and clean, are gentle and nurturing, value aesthetics over function, etc.   Yet, my very "masculine" industrial-manager husband cooks just as well as any Betty Crocker wannabe, and tells the bedtime stories that are most in-demand by the kids.  My GF, who is surely "ALL Girl" is a highly skilled mechanic, a street racer, was busily laying concrete while 6 months pregnant, and practices kenjutsu (Japanese sword fighting skills).  And me?  I'm AFAB but I'm infertile and I feel like I should have had a male body...yet I possess very little in the way of "manly" skills or desire to acquire them.  I'm in my boy form these days, but pretty much useless for accomplishing "boy stuff."     I think my family blew those definitions out of the water.  Yet, somehow our family structure is also religiously patriarchal....and happily so!  It'll bend your brain to try to figure that one out.    I'd say its just important to be you, do what you do best, and stick your tongue out at anybody who doesn't like it.

Welcome to the board gizgizgizzie! I sure can understand what dysphoria feels like. I found it stayed in my head during nearly all waking hours. Although, sometimes held in a little deeper. But it was triggered easily. I hope you can find that place you feel comfortable with yourself. This is a good place to find help as you traverse your journey.   Jennifer

hi everyone, my name is giz (or gizzie), i use all prns but i prefer they/it and i just found out abt this place pretty recently !! im really excited to find community among other trans people from so many walks of life !! in my personal life, i do have trans/queer friends but its not easy to navigate that without coming out all willy nilly (and i can't come out to my family, pretty much ever) so this is a pretty good place for me to get to know people and make new friends !!   i also have this weird dysphoria issue that i feel like everyone (and society at large lol) is attaching me to categories and boxes that don't really fit me (obviously this is to do with my agab) so being here without that presentation is also really helpful !!   i also hope to be able to start and share my transitions goals and things like that (just getting my body to a more androgynous look) !!   thanks for reading, and i hope to see more of y'all soon !!

Well, my friends are out publicly. Openly transgender, and on HRT.  I agree that the survival of all of us is at stake.  But I think there are threats greater and more dangerous than those faced exclusively by LGBTQ folks.   Rising prices. Unaffordable food.  EPA strangling transportation and energy.  Needless foreign wars that put us at risk of literal nuclear annihilation.  A government that wants to tax us, track us, and control every aspect of our lives...including using us as guinea pigs for their medical experiments.     Trump is no savior.  Neither is the Republican party.  But I believe that a vote for Democrats in the federal government is for sure a vote for globalism and what follows it.  War, famine, plague, slavery, and death don't care if we're trans or cis.

People who are out publicly, and openly transgender, maybe on HRT, having changed names and gender, have a lot to lose if anti-trans politicians take power.  They have openly called for our eradication, and promise to do everything they can to accomplish this.  (again, 2025) For someone in this position the election is about our survival.  It's foolish to delude ourselves into thinking "Oh, they don't really mean that.  It's all for show," or, "There's other more important things to concern ourselves with." Maybe for some people the other things take priority.  But if you have skin in the game, things look different.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
If that happens, a lot of things I don't want to see might also be codified into law.  And some things that shouldn't be law might not get repealed.  To me, progress in one area isn't worth the price we'd have to pay in several other areas.     For me, voting on LGBTQ issues always ends up as an "out of the frying pan, but into the fire" sort of event.

Thea, your post made me think of a comic named Chloe Petts whom I saw recently on Hannah Gadsby's Gender Agenda comedy special on Netflix. She is a cisgender masculine lesbian. She is brilliant and so funny. I was intrigued by her identification - specifically masculine, not butch. And it seems to me there is a difference.

Today I had a dr appt. When I checked in, I was asked my surname, which I gave. Apparently there were two patients with appointments at that time with that same surname. The receptionist asked, "Are you (my legal name which is feminine) or Paul?" I got such a kick out of it not being assumed I had the feminine name.
