Tucking And Hernias

Hi Honey,

I'm not at all sure how this could occur.

I have read an enormous amount about this over the years, and have never come across anything like risks involving hernias.

The only risk I know of is that it can have an effect on fertility (which really isn't an issue for me, or let's face it, most of us here).

Most everything fits very neatly inside my body, and I find it much more comfortable that way.

Thank you, Paula. I wasn't sure if it could actually cause a hernia, but I saw somewhere that is may not be possible if you've had hernia surgery.

I too find tucking to be more comfortable. It's not just for appearances, it makes me feel more feminine with those unsightly parts out of the way.

I had hernia surgery when I was younger and tucking seems to work well enough. I never attempted it before the surgery so I can't compare, but it seems I can sucessfully tuck. The first time I tried it it was actually very easy for me to do, so I was surprsied when I read the same thing on a site online.

If I remember correctly, I was 11 or 12 when I had the surgery, so it is possible that since my body was still developing that it countered whatever it is about hernia surgery that could block it from being possible.

I had a hernia op when young.Been tucking continuously for years.

It can and probably will get uncomfortable at times until the anti androgens

do their work and you the lose the girth(size)of your testes. Then it becomes

much easier.

I just had hernia surgery about two weeks ago. I'm actually not sure how I got it. Might have been from tucking, but I don't think so. I really didn't bring that discussion up to the DR. I don't think it was because I never really did tucking much other than a few times, depending on what I was wearing.

I would like to get into it a little more, but need to heal up first. I won't be able to wear anything too tight for awhile, unfortunately. However,I'm interested in some type of hormone treatment that would maybe shrink the size of testes and that whole area like you mentioned. I want to have more comfort wearing denim short shorts or tight girl jeans. Seems like it would probably help a lot

I was told by my doctors that there's only two main ways to aquire a hernia.

One is to over exert yourself by lifting things that are way too heavy and this usually has to be done on a fairly regular basis.

And second is to be born with a hernia. I had a friend that her son was born with one.

I just got home from a consult with my surgeon about my hernia. Although there is only a visible buldge above my pubis on one side, I actually have a double indirect inguinal hernia. I asked him if the repair could affect tucking. He told me that my hernia is part of the reason it is so easy for me to tuck. That the mesh he would use to repair the hernia would be inserted into the inguinal canal, where my testicles go when I tuck, which would most definitely make it difficult or impossble for me to tuck.

My doctor told me that given that I have had my hernias for quite some time, they are stable and not threatening, in light of my need to tuck, he recommended against surgery to correct them.

I was born with a hernia. I was a 10-pound baby and my mother was only 115 lbs when she was pregnant. The stress of her pushing on my body coupled with the doctor's hand digging into me while trying to pry me out caused me to have hernia surgery within an hour of being born. I've been tucking (granted, not everyday) for about 20 years now and I have never encountered any distress nor has it ever been uncomfortable. I don't know if having the surgery so early in life makes it easier or not, or if it has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's always been easy for me even during my first attempts way back when.

As far as fertility goes, my wife had ovarian cancer when she was a teenager. One ovary was completely removed and the other had a cyst that was removed. When we were married, I had been tucking for well over a decade and she became pregnant on the first try with both of my kids. So, we are either extremely lucky, I've got lots of good swimmers :P , or the whole fertility issue is heavily overrated as well.

I think that as long as it doesn't cause you any pain while tucked, I just can't see how it could cause problems. However, I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV!

I just thought I'd share my experiences!

I bet the difference is in the way they repair hernias today. Surgeons implant a screen over the area instead of actually suturing it closed the way you probably had it done. The chance of re-injury is less, the healing process is quicker and since most people getting the repair don't tuck, it's not a problem.

I agree. This law is impractical and impossible to evenly enforce without such ridiculous measures in place. What it will do is stigmatize the trans community in Oklahoma and nothing more but ofc, that’s the only point of it.   If I was in that state and needed a restroom, there’s no chance I’d ever step foot in the men’s restroom because of some law. I know I’m not alone in that thinking. This law won’t stand the test of time.

I asked AI to create an image of myself 30 years younger based off my avatar on another site and this was the result:     Wow! I am amazed how close it got my 30 year old face!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.

OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Ngl, probably Sonic the Hedgehog, the Beatles, or the Monkees. Those are the three subjects I know the most about so I could drop hours of info on them.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

Congratulations Sam,   The common saying her once someone starts HRT is: “Enjoy the ride.”   Best wishes, stay positive and motivated    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
