I'm new to this and yet at the same time I'm not new to this. I'm 25. I have been dealing with gender identy problems ever since I can remember. I recently had an incident where I spent a day in the ER and then 9 days in the phsyc ward. During my stay there I wound up having to confront my family and opening up to them about mu issues. Now I just started seeing a gender identity specialist to hopefully start my transition. I live in the Oklahoma City area and was wondering if anyone here is around the same area as I am?

Hey, Josephine,

How long have you been sitting here in the members lounge?

I was at a rehearsal and just got home so let me go into the kitchen and get you some cocoa and I'll whip up a batch of fresh baked cookies - the smell of cookies baking is the sign to everyone that we have a new member.

They will all start coming by to greet you because we are very friendly but it wouldn't be a bad idea to hold on to an extra cookie or two.

We are heree to support each other ask and answer questions and have a little fun as well.

Welcome to the family.

Love ya,

Sally

Cookies, cookies? I smell cookies! Sally, you're in the kitchen again!

Hey, Josephine, welcome to Laura's hon. Its great to have you with us. You will find this an

amazing place full of wonderful (if sometimes eccentric) people. We are one big family, and

we look after one another and especially the young'uns.

There are forums for every interest, chat rooms for the fleet of finger, and resource pages

for the knowledge hungry. So please look around, make yourself at home, and when

you feel ready, let us learn more about you.

Welcome aboard.

I first started seeing counselors in the 2nd grade when I wore my sisters panties and bra to school and the teacher found out. That was the first time and when everything started. A few years later I was given the option of SRS but I declined. Then I turned out to be a closet crossdresser over the years and thenin the last about 10 years have accepted the fact that I am bisexual. After that I started thinking, dream, fantasizing or whatever you want to call it, about becoming a transsexual. And now I am starting to go through the process.

Thanks for the replies and the warm welcomes.

By the way - josephine denice is a name that my mother and sister picked out for my "other half" while I was in the ward.

Hello Josephine,

Welcome to the playground! We're always happy to have new members. Oklahoma huh?...I'm pretty sure there's some people from that area.

Just wander around the forums and post! Everyone's extremely nice here. I'm sure other OKC area people will start showing up soon :)

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

USA doctors denounce Cass Report, support trans folks.  The Endocrine Society And American Academy Of Pediatrics Respond To Cass, Reject Bans. In recent weeks, the Cass Review out of the United Kingdom has been used to argue for bans on care. I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.

Second warning, this has gotten far and apart from the NEWS item that it started out with and is becoming a flat out battleground over political leanings and terminology.
