OK I'm growing my hair, unfortunately, I have a very curly hard to control hair type that just wants to do a mess fro if anything else.. I keep it under control in guy mode with lots of hair Gel but I'm realizing once its long enough that I can step away from Wigs I'm gonna have a tough time controlling it ... Anyone have any suggestions to tame the wildness. Also I don't want to keep using hair gel if I can find a better way ....

I am attaching a pic of myself so you cna see my hair for yourself. It actually is about 1 1/2 - 2" long right now although it doesn't look like it. I please excuse the horrible guy mode pic .. I was lazy this weekend and didn't shave.

Chrissy,

Sorry, I'm one of those who would love to have unruly hair. You should probably consult a hairdresser, they can suggest something that won't damage it. There's a point where your hair is not long enough to do anything feminine with, but, it's too long to look good in guy mode. I'm about to give up growing my own hair.

Hugs,

Shari

What I got my partner to do with her hair which is now shoulder length is have it layered . Hers has a mind of its own lol :) I took her to the hairdressers and asked them to layer it . It worked with hers . She also straighten s it with a hair straightener :)

Hi Chrissy,

Of course, you'll make many folks jealous with that hair!

Mine is perhaps not as unruly. but because it's baby-fine, it is no more managable than yours. And it is wavy-curly around the sides and straight on top. Even in my guy years, my hair was always a mess.

Thankfully, my hairdresser has the patience of a saint! We waited and waited until it was long enough for big rollers. After it finally got there (took over a year for my slow-growing stuff), she gave it a body-perm. This straightened the side hair and curled the top hair.to where everything reacts the same. The downside is that it needs to be repeated farily often - perhaps every 3 months. Mine is past due...

That in-between time, waiting for hair to grow, was awful! I used a grandmotherly look - I personally named it "Birds-Nest", using mousse to squish it into even curls all over, and then picking it out into a loose Afro afterwards. Of course, there's always wigs, but it's so nice to be able to leave them behind!

Love, Megan

I've seen it suggested to not shampoo every day, maybe just every few days. That seems to be the magic bullet for hair like yours. Lots of conditioner but not always shampoo. Search the forum, I know I've seen the topic elsewhere.

Also google the internet! There's no difference between men's and women's hair chemically. There are tips on women's beauty sites.

I am growing mine out too and it looks kind of like yours. I've never had it long enough where the weight actually takes over. Just grows up and up and up! Looking forward to getting over that hump!

I have that same hair, well on the sides top leaves me something to be desired lately, best thing to do is to go with it rather than fight it. There are products you can get like Frizz ease and such that will make them much more manageable. If keeping the curls isn't the route you want to go then I suggest maybe when it gets long enough to get a Chi(hair straightening iron).

I'd like to hear some ideas on this as well.

This is what my hair looks like in the morning:

No... I'm not kidding. It about the same length and just as curly. I'm happy if I can run my fingers thru it. If I take 30 minutes to flat-iron or blow-dry it, it looks awesome. But otherwise, it's a mess.

The best thing I've had luck with is Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Balm which helps straighten and kill frizz. Bumble and Bumble Concentrate works well too. The flat-iron gives my the best results though.

Curly hair incites jealousy, girls! Some women pay mucho dinero to have curls like ours.

I use conditioner every time I shower, and work it through my hair in parts. I also found out that as a result of using a decent anti-dandruff shampoo, my stylist didn't even have to cut my hair recently if I just wanted it at that length. There were no split ends or anything that had to be trimmed. She said a healthy scalp will do that. :)

The only time I use shampoo is after a couple days to wash all the product out of it.

As for styling, I use a curl-enhancing mousse and some hair spray. Put some on, then bend over and flip my hair over and do a little more that way, then scrunch it some and hit it with a blow dryer on low heat, then flip my hair back over as I stand up. You can also skip a day or two if you don't want to mess with your hair, or it's unbearably hot, and pull it up in a ponytail or a messy bun when it's long enough.

During the growing out phase (took a couple years), I just endured jokes about having an afro. Just tried to take care of it and get semi regular trims.

That does get you the 'starting point' for cup size, but manufacturers, style, breast shape, etc... will effect the results.    Step one is of course finding the proper band fit, then figuring out the approximate cup size with the calculations. Of course you need to try on a few styles after that in different cup sizes close to your measured result until you get the perfect fit.    I have bras in a DD that fit just like my bras in DDD both from Torrid but different styles.    I have some DDD's that fit awesome and some that are a bit loose, but I measure a 46G. It's not wonder that 80% of women are wearing them wrong bra.

I firmly believe I drank entirely to much for about 25 years. Got drunk every day. This was my coping mechanism to keep hiding deep inside that I was a woman. I miss a lot of signs over the years. Now I drink mabye 1 or 2 beers a day don't even get a buzz anymore. totally accept myself and on regret is that I hide that part of my self which  truly makes me happy being violet 💜. I wasted a lot of time before  being self destructive and had no clue I was just hiding th real me

Well it not morning and I haven’t been on her for a while but it’s nice to be back.  Did some catching up on everyone.  I do have a question, how is Toronto Canada for a get away? Is it a safe and friendly area for us to go.  The wife and I are looking for some where to go to allow me to be my true self.     thanks in advance

Hey, everyone. my life is going down the tubes. at least I think. So, today. A customer called about his car, I told him that the oil change was done. The parts to fix the check engine light are ordered. He can come and get it. For the weekend if he wants. Customer says I didn't want an oil change. it was check the engine light and check for an oil leak. Checking the work order says oil change. The boss wrote the vehicle up. checking with the customer on services wanted.   Being that I wrote down the appointment in the book. and clearly states oil leak. She is complaining because she can't read my small ish writing. It seems she read oil and assumed it as an oil change. It seems like she is blaming me.  She wound up going home because she was too upset. She is stressing about an eye problem she has, she has to get eye surgery it seems she has a tear in her eye.    I feel that I am short for this job. because of the BS they are blaming me on. Plus I am still upset about the trust issue. If either one of the bosses start their Shite tomorrow. I am walking out.

"I love you so much,"  Lois said.  They met in the driveway. "I could not live without you." "Neither could I." "What are we going to do?" "Find another counselor?" "No. I think we need to solve this ourselves." "Do you think we can?" "I don't know.  But what I know is that I don't want to go through that again.  I think we have to hope we can find a solution." "Otherwise, despair." "Yeah.   Truce?" "Okay,  truce." And they hugged.   "When we know what we want we can figure out how to get there."   That began six years of angry battles, with Odie insisted he could dress as he pleased and Lois insisting it did not please her at all.  He told her she was not going to control him and she replied that she still had rights as a wife to a husband. Neither was willing to give in, neither was willing to quit, and their heated arguments ended in hugs and more.   They went to a Crossdressers' Club, where they hoped to meet other couples with the same problems, the same conflicts, and the same answers, if anyone had any.  It took them four tries before they settled on a group that they were both willing to participate in.  This was four couples their own age, each with a cross dressing husband and a wife who was dealing with it.  They met monthly.  It was led by a 'mediator' who wanted people to express how they felt about the situation.  Odie and Lois, as newcomers, got the floor, and the meeting was finally dismissed at 1:30 in the morning - it was supposed to be over at 10 - and everyone knew how they felt about the situation.   There was silence in the car on the way home.   "We aren't the only ones dealing with this." Odie finally said.   "Who would have thought that?  You are right."   "Somebody out there has a solution." "I hope you are right."   "I hope in hope, not in despair."   "That's my Odie."

The counseling session was heated, if you could call it a counseling session.  Sometimes Lois felt he was on Odie's side, and sometimes on hers.  When he was on her side, Odie got defensive. She found herself being defensive when it seemed they were ganging up on each other.   "This is not working," Lois said angrily, and walked out.  "Never again. I want my husband back. Dr. Smith you are complicit in this."   "What?" said Odie.   The counselor looked at him.  "You will have to learn some listening skills."   "That is it? Listening skills?  You just destroyed my marriage, and you told me I need to learn listening skills?"   Dr. Smith said calmly,"I think you both need to cool off."   Odie looked at him and walked out, saying "And you call yourself a counselor."   "Wait a minute."   "No."
