While I have seen others in real life . There is no way I would ever approach one as that would be about as mean as outing one in my opinion. Except for online I have yet to speak face to face with another transwomen ever. This does make me feel very alone in all this for sure.

I have to say there are some TG people right here in the heart of Todd Akin country (of which I'm one.) I'm not going to start a public conversations though, that's why one goes to meetings and organizations.

As it turns out the first TS woman I ever talked to is a forum moderator ( see my thread on my visit to the ST Louis gender foundation, me and Kathryn went together.) In fairness I have talked to other TG people before, but not TS(that I have read), and of course the subject was ordinary, not TG related, I think there was a cashier not too long ago.

In the current Lush Times (a soap sales catalog) there are TG people(Nicole Pg 44, sumer 2012 issue), listed as staff at Lush. I am a customer there, go figure. Nicole is very cute, but has tells, I really want her hair!

Megan? Do they date? I will be there shortly... I'M JUST KIDDING! MaryEllen is gonna grab her ruler and crack me on the knuckles for this one. Plez, I'm just playing...

There is an abundance of trans people in my area too. I found many more when I started going to support groups too. I was only alone until I stepped out the door full time. I think that is why for the most part, my whole community is relatively accepting. That is good for us. Stealth's that I can clock, but never out, steer very clear of me and I understand why. I'm glad that I don't have to do that. I want to be trans-parent. To each their own and God bless them all. Ever buy a new car and suddenly there are hundreds more like it that you see on the road???

BTW, I was bored and reading stuff on the wall today and looking at the fair labor law poster, I noticed we are in there too. Way cool!

I hope some of my stuff people can take with a grain of salt. Hug ya all. Jody

It's a scary thing but in order to meet another Trans person you have to be vulnerable and put yourself out there. Most won't come to you, you have to initiate contact. its awkward yes but it's worth it.

But, in daily life these days, I seem to be tripping over T-girls - they're everywhere!

What Meg says is certainly true, visibility is not an issue around these parts. One drive into Seattle I saw 4 transwomen in just a few miles of driving on a sunny day. I sometimes ask myself, are my perceptions better tuned, or has visibility increased, or both ?

You will meet someone when the circumstances permit, agree with others support meetings are safe and open places for meeting others of like mind. It's certainly awkward to engage someone that appears gender variant on the street at random just for their apperance, I would not do it myself. I have been approached and engaged by people I don't know for what seemed like the oddest reasons, in hindsight these people just want to talk to you, to hear your voice. I try to always smile and be friendly, and then I leave scratching my head, what was that all about ??

I live i Hawaii and I have seen a lot of different girls, even a few guys.

I am currently in Texas, taking care of my mother after her surgery. I have seen three girls here in my home town in the last month. I am not talking about going to clubs or anything like that, just everyday running around and shopping.\\

I do not approach nor do I talk to any girl or guy I see while out in public. If we notice each other, I just smile and nod my head at them. Kinda like wishing them good luck.

In the support group I am part of in Hawaii, we have close to 50 members. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at our GT's house. This is the only time that I talk to the girls or the few guys we have. Will, except for my bff that works at a resturant that I go to alot.

/Love

more and more each day i seem to be noticing, but there are times that i really am not even sure.So to approach someone could be very bad for each of you. I keep my distance and if someone wants to talk to me have at it.

I`m lucky :) at my faculty there are two other trans-people. One genderqueer heterosexual and a FtM.

It is wonderful, that there are some other trans/queer/ non-stereotypes around me. In my opinion there is an invisible connection between us.

Yesterday I had a great encounter. I have met a(n) (unfamiliar) MtF in a public women's bathroom and we looked at each other and smiled. Just smiled at each other.

I met my first other transguys on a fluke at school. I'd seen them before, but them being new to the school, I hadn't talked to them. I made unexpected friends with his girlfriend on a trip, and am now best friends with her, her trans boyfriend, their other transguy friend and his genderqueer partner. I honestly don't know what I'd do without them now, and we talk about everything, and get advice from each other. They've been a vital part in my transition, and it's great to have transbrothers you can see everyday that are experiencing the same thing as you instead of just online.

I feel like I'll never find one. This forum has been a great help, just having others to talk to, but what I wouldn't give to meet just one trans person outside the internet. I have seen people who make me suspect, but how do I know I'm right? And even if I am, I cannot possibly think of any polite way to make contact. Wouldn't I just make them feel like they aren't blending in?

We don't have any groups in my town, and I don't have the ability to start one.

For one: I'm still in the closet. For two: I don't have sufficient leadership ability.

To meet other Trans Folk, go where they go, I posted this link in another topic a few minutes ago. There is nothing like a convention to find out you are no where near alonge. The travel to them is fun too, Some have scholarships for at least the convention fee. http://www.transcentralpa.org/resources_conferences.htm

I on the other hand seem to bump into one almost every time i am out . victoria secret, my tanning salon, walmart , hell even at my job . there was one several months back . an ftm now works there , and i am not sure but i have my suspicions our safty supervisor is as well. the signs are there , she is prety but has obviously had a ton of plastic surgery , broad shoulders narrow wasit , very large hands and feet compared to her petite build and her voice...... while it is not manly by any stretch of the imagination , something is just not quite right about it either , even my hubby has noticed her offness

of course i would never openly try and talk to them. it would just be rude of me. and i am not about to out my self for any one . but it does do my heart good to see them out there doing it :)

They were sitting on the love seat, looking west out over Kansas.  Below them the busy city ran to and fro.   "They called.  My surgery has been rescheduled for May 8.  I need to be there at 5 AM for pre-op.  I start prescriptions and diet change on May 1."   "Okay."  Bob did his not-thinking-about anything look.  Taylor was always amazed that he could  actually be thinking about absolutely nothing. She was always thinking of at least six things.   "How can they be like that?" "What?"  He startled a little.  Contact with reality was reestablished. "Where does the hate come from?  Mrs. McArthur?  She was always polite, but I think she wasn't really.  Somehow she hated me even though there were no indications whatsoever." "Yeah, well, you know they are starting up that plant.  And my company is going ahead with their work there, down n Milliville.   I will have to go down there sometimes." "Oh, Bob." "Maybe I will stop by and ask her." "No." "No.  Cabaret is closed, I have been told.  Your transgender support group has scattered to other places." "What is wrong with those people?" "Same thing as Roosevelt, I guess.  You know all the racial comments against Blacks?  Like that game where our cheerleaders started this insulting cheer, an the opposite team was mostly Black? Teachers stopped it." "I didn't know.  I was staying away from that, remember?" "Yes." "You know all those kids at our church, the ones you called freaks the other day?" "I shouldn't have called them that." "Pastor tells me they are all from all over the Midwest.  These are kids who have been thrown out of their homes and were found on the street.  Other shelters would not take them, so they wound up here." "Not surprising." "I think we could do some good here." "What do you have in mind?" And she told him.

You are spot on here ... but also it seems like such a rigged game for the average person that it's hard to invest energy into the political arena -- too much big money controlling too many people/organizations/narratives for the common person to fee; heard...   In general, why we in America accept either candidate is baffling... for all our innovation as a nation, we can't do better than these two bozos?    The problem is, the political arena is such a sham -- again with large money controlling all aspects of the system -- that a common-sense, love-your-neighbor, make-reasonable-compromises, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-to-work candidate will never make it anywhere above the local level (if even there)...    Everything is a reality show, and boring ol' decision makers that try to benefit the most people don't generate enough clicks, views and retweets...  I am not sure it is so much about celebrity as it is about party politics at all costs - "my side must always be viewed as right and your side must always be viewed as wrong!" kind of thinking... there is no consensus building anymore because that will get used against you in campaign ads... When Obama took office and then Hilary ran again, it was like all Republicans want to do was to find someone loud enough to put them in their place. Forget issues, forget character, just win a debate and rally the base.    To get back to your original point, not enough of us care about politics ... and in some ways we've become fat, happy and entitled as a nation. The yearning to achieve the "American dream", which drove my parents and their parents before them to work their tails off and sacrifice and save, is now just "give me the American dream for free while I sit here on my phone and watch tiktok..."

I am about 5 weeks ahead of you ... best wishes to you! For me it has been subtle changes at most so far (if any) ... but I am also on the "beginner's" level of patch, lol ...    Easy

Oh, another comment.   I am a conservative evangelical with strong Republican leanings. So is my wife, my friends, my family. I disagree with a good amount of what the Republicans are doing, but there it is.  I understand the mindset, I think, a lot better than those who are outside it do.   When you insult Republicans you insult me, my friends, my family.   People like me can struggle with trans issues.   Please consider that in posting.

I found this as well. No playacting, they just appear: the finger waggle wave; bracing my elbow on my other arm that's folded across my chest, wrist in the air half-cocked; walking a bit more fiercely... All that. My wife thought I was mocking her at one point!

I find my lack of time to read the thing frustrating, and I will not really comment until I have read it.  This is a wholly inadequate response.   1.  I think there are some legitimate concern.   2. Thoroughly discussing this will consume many threads.   3. I disagree partially with @MaeBe but there is partial agreement.   4. The context includes what is happening in society that the authors are observing.  It is not an isolated document.   5. Trump, if elected, is as likely to spend his energies going after political opponents as he is to implementing something like this.    6. I reject critical theory, which is based on Marxism.  Marxism has never worked and never will.  Critical theory has problems which would need time to go into, which I do not have.   7. There are groups who have declared war on the nuclear family as problematically patriarchal, and a lot of other terms. They are easy to find on the internet.  This document is reacting to that (see #4 above).   8.  Much of this would have to be legislated, and this is a policy documented.  Implementation would  be most likely different, but that does not mean criticism is unwarranted.

Sort of bracing myself for flipping, because I am wearing f and of course I wear f and it is natural to wear f and what else would I wear?  The  novelty is long gone out on this.  I wore a bra most of yesterday but we had a Zoom call and I took the bra off because I was concerned about the straps showing.  I missed it.    My body is saying "I am female!  Treat me that way!"   In the past it has screamed about this activity that  I have done to it.

Finally I  am back online   I had to use the help of the contact form (not proud  of that, I always feel embarrassed and shy about contacting people), but here I am   missed all of you
    • atlantis63
I'm not happy to admit this, but I usually scream or break things.   Breaking things became a bit of a no no, because It was always a cd or something I liked and it got very expensive to replace stuff

Probably amusement parks. I've never been to one sadly, but I think I could talk for an hour about them without any problem
