Lipstick

Hi

I was putting on my lipstick this morning as usual and just wondered how many people do as I do?

Almost 100% of the time when using lipstick (usually every day) I do not use a single colour. I find that after putting on a colour I don't really like it and tend to mix with another colour on my lips. Apart from a few times when I have found this being done on craft sites for specific effects, I am not aware of any woman (or man) doing this but I know few people who would be likely to (not many female friends and most of them use little or no makeup most of the time).

I usually mix a brown with bright red or a purple (or lilac) with the bright red. The bright red would be too overpowering on its own (although it is my favourite) as would brown if very dark, but mixed it goes well. I have other colours which I use less often. It has the advantage of giving a unique shade not easily obtained in the shops and different every day!

I think a lot of it comes from my art (I like painting) and also, as I was not brought up to use lipstick, I am learning myself so do more as I feel. You mix / blend eyeshdow so why not lipstick!

It would be interesting to know whether others do, and if not it may be something to try.

Yes, I know of many woman mixing lipstick colors like this.

I enjoy watching some women apply some of their cosmetics. Lipstick application is one of them.

No, I don't do it. I don't wear lipstick.

However, I do find the right shades of lipsticks/combos quite nice when worn by the ladies.

Actually, I don't do this. For some unknown reason I've been able to find shades of lipstick that look great on me on their own so I don't mix colors.

However, my mom, after being frustrated with not being able to find the perfect shade of lipstick for her, took a few of her lipsticks that weren't quite right, mashed them all together, stirred it around and blended them all together and voila! She found a great shade for her.

My lips are so thin that one shade barely has room... I use 4 colors, primarily: pink, mauve, purple, and orange (brownish) - dependent on what I'm wearing. If I feel whimsical, I'll use a brilliant gloss on top of the lipstick.

I am lazy around the lips. I keep a lipstick in my purse and will quickly add some color as i run out the door or approach a meeting or commitment. It seem s to make me feel done but i don't spend much time there anymore.
