Gratitude day:

1: I'm so grateful I found the place, you all have been amazing. Reading through everyones posts and searching the forum for insights has truly helped me process this newly discovered me. Hugs to all of you.

2: My circle. I have consciously tried over the last year to make sure I surround myself with the best quality people and distance myself from toxic ones. I knew I needed to for my mental health but wow, the relationships and people I have in my life because of that bore fruit this week as I came out to my family, friends and employees.  I never knew how much I was loved until I came out. (insert tears of joy here)

3: My wife and kids.  Their immediate and enthusiastic support of my decision to come out and transition has me so humbled. Words cannot describe how proud of my kids I am right now and how humbled I am to have won the unconditional love of such a great woman.

4: Good coffee in the morning- it's hard to be worried about things when you have a good cup of java ;)

@KymmieL you have thumbs up about not letting HR manager telling parts manager stand in your way. i was told several times in my career that you have to look out for number one and number one is YOU. I hope you resolve the back issues and get physically better soon.

is something I have said for years.  I made sure my son understood it well.  Its difficult to help or love others if you don't look out for yourself.

Hi everyone!

Officially full swing at my retail job. Everyone now knows me as Tessa! It’s a good feeling! Did my nails 2 different colors. Pink and gold. So far a lot of compliments. End of August we will require all customers to wear masks at the Gap where I work. I’m getting use to the mask.

Been doing a lot of soul searching and working on myself. My mom is becoming much more accepting these days. Just today over the phone a customer said “I bet your drop dead gorgeous!”  He has no idea what I look like but my voice must reflect a very cute girl or he’s teasing me. This isn’t the first time some guy has tried to flirt with me over the phone. I just wish I felt that way. I am very skinny and my best features are my nails, eyes, and legs. I’ll take it as he meant it.

Today went to Village Inn and had pancakes and a coke.

Talk to you all later.

Tess

@Tessa

That is wonderful news, especially the acceptance more and more of your mom - after all she has a  journey to and will have ups and downs - it is reassuring that she is coming around to understand and that is a great ally to have - I do my toes nails and clear on my regular nails - no one other than my health care and you wonderful ladies call me by my new name yet - and your voice - great - I have been working on mine through on-line voice feminization lessons and exercises and slowly but surely it is getting better every day but not ready for the random calls to services like airplanes or walmart.....also slowly changing my appearance and clothes with more androgenous look so by the time I am completely ready to share the world close to me they will be like the frog in water that keeps getting hotter - they won't realize the change happening over time....Your hands are very feminine even if you didn't have polish on....

I made coffee about 8 one granddaughter was up playing Minecraft.  She finally crashed around 10am. Everyone else got up at various times.  Its another really hot day today.  Its not supposed to be as bad starting tomorrow.

My daughter accepts me but doesn’t want to talk about it.  The youngest doesn’t know so for the next week I have to be careful and not be Willow.  Thats ok. My wife doesn’t want me to be full time and I’m not out to very many people, so I’m used to it.

@QuoraQ Just some sinus / nasal surgery. Nothing transition related yet.

Good luck Sara.  I had a septal defect fixed a few years back and asked them to give me cheerleader's nose.  I was disappointed when I woke up and it was my same ol....   lol

They were probably out of stock.

Seriously though, what's a cheerleader's nose? I'm thinking of the prettiest cheerleader from high school and, while gorgeous, she wasn't conventionally attractive if that makes sense.

Hugs!

Thanks Bri, I asked my surgeon something similar, I think the result will be similar to yours. LOL

Just finished the pre-surgery COVID test. Wasn't bad at all. Treated myself to an iced cappuccino. Now 5 days of self isolation until surgery.

Have a wonderful day everyone! Hugs!

Put me in line too. but I'll take a cheerleaders body to match the nose.

Today was great went to Ft Collins and did some shopping for wigs. OMG I never knew they could cost that much. we looked through the catalogs I picked out styles, colors, length, bang style, all kinds of fun stuff. She is going to get with the owner on Monday and put a bid together and submitit to the VA. fingers crossed.

Good luck Kymmie.   I looked at quality wigs once, wow $$. But human hair ones last for over a year if you take care of them, the cheaper ones only a couple months at best.  It also helps if you can find a stylist who works with wigs. They can do a wash and style on it for you and boom-salon quality blow out that if you care for it, it lasts a week or more.

I decided I just need to be patient with my hair growth. I only have a slightly receding hairline and now that it's long enough the curls kinda hide that.  I still have another year's worth of growth before I will be really happy. How long before your bid is decided on?

Bri, don't know the time line for that. but it is the government so who knows.

Up early the Monday morning of mine. three opening shifts then 2 closing. Its a living.

news on my back front. It is getting better. somewhat. Should be getting my meds today. Something to help with the inflammation.

Now for the big decision? Still don't know what the hell I am going to do. Time is ticking away on my own timeline to make a decision. Things are so hard when you need to decide something  especially when it is your heart that is being torn in two. just realized that my granddaughter will be 2 first part of Sept. First girl in the family since my generation. She is my oldests. so once I transition I will probably loose contact with her. I am going crazy over everything. yet no one to discuss it with.

@KymmieL I understand the feeling about no one to talk to.  You have all of us but it’s not exactly the same.  Trying to find someone that isn’t biased one way or the other is difficult.  Sometimes you just have to decide on your own and that’s not really what you want.  Just remember, though, no one can decide for you.

i don’t have a human hair wig.  I went to a real wig store and looked once.  What I wanted and what I ended up with based on my budget are very different.  Still I’m satisfied with the one I have.  The color is really good for me.  Mostly it’s just shorter than I really I wanted.  I also bought one from one of the better online stores.  It’s a longer Style which I also like but I know it won’t hold up long term.

Loving having my family here.

Willow, Yeah, I realize that the ultimate decisions is mine and mine alone. But I don't know why I am holding on. Maybe the chance that my wife decides to accept me. Yeah, And I am the queen of England. Well I could be. I am related to King  Henry the V. So that analogy is out the door. LOL.

Well took my second dose of steroids this morning. The back is better than yesterday. Only spasmed once today where it did it 7 times at work. not fun.

Coffee's on!! thank the Java godess!  I've been living full time as a woman for about 5 days now and it's been pretty much great. Shopping with family, working etc have all been pretty good. Told my best friend and the first guy to learn of my transitioning and he was supportive. So basically was living high. Then I went grocery shopping by myself. Nothing "bad" happened but every interaction I had with people was concluded with a "thank you sir" "have a great day sir" etc.  It sank me so low, so quick.  Now I know I don't pass.  I just came out for goddess' sake and I've no make up or boobs but clearly dressed as a woman.    I know this is going to continue as the norm for quite some time but I need to figure out how to control my moods better.  Sorry for the vent.

But to be positive again- Woo Hoo! Best friend cool with me transitioning and even wanted to get together with his wife and mine for drinks to hear all about it!

Hey girls and guys!

Today is Monday. I want to get this day started off right! To do that I need to put tomorrow’s worries aside and focus what’s good for today. Even in the small things I need to see that they can bring me joy and happiness.

So I choose to be happy and think myself as beautiful regardless how I look or feel. I accept my flaws and insecurities but I won’t let them rule me. I don’t have time to worry because I’m to excited about the possibilities that are right in front of me.

Put that in your coffee.

Love to all

I had this happen a lot until I found different places to shop. I don't think it was always intentional but that they were overly familiar with who I was and it was more of an automatic response. Regardless, I don't frequent those places anymore.

I'm also looking for ideas for handling social media pages. I tried to search but couldn't find anything useful. Specifically, pictures of the old me. I feel the need to delete them all and purge that person from my life so they won't be used against me later. If there's already a thread on this I will be happy to go there but I can't find one.

I firmly believe I drank entirely to much for about 25 years. Got drunk every day. This was my coping mechanism to keep hiding deep inside that I was a woman. I miss a lot of signs over the years. Now I drink mabye 1 or 2 beers a day don't even get a buzz anymore. totally accept myself and on regret is that I hide that part of my self which  truly makes me happy being violet 💜. I wasted a lot of time before  being self destructive and had no clue I was just hiding th real me

Well it not morning and I haven’t been on her for a while but it’s nice to be back.  Did some catching up on everyone.  I do have a question, how is Toronto Canada for a get away? Is it a safe and friendly area for us to go.  The wife and I are looking for some where to go to allow me to be my true self.     thanks in advance

Hey, everyone. my life is going down the tubes. at least I think. So, today. A customer called about his car, I told him that the oil change was done. The parts to fix the check engine light are ordered. He can come and get it. For the weekend if he wants. Customer says I didn't want an oil change. it was check the engine light and check for an oil leak. Checking the work order says oil change. The boss wrote the vehicle up. checking with the customer on services wanted.   Being that I wrote down the appointment in the book. and clearly states oil leak. She is complaining because she can't read my small ish writing. It seems she read oil and assumed it as an oil change. It seems like she is blaming me.  She wound up going home because she was too upset. She is stressing about an eye problem she has, she has to get eye surgery it seems she has a tear in her eye.    I feel that I am short for this job. because of the BS they are blaming me on. Plus I am still upset about the trust issue. If either one of the bosses start their Shite tomorrow. I am walking out.

"I love you so much,"  Lois said.  They met in the driveway. "I could not live without you." "Neither could I." "What are we going to do?" "Find another counselor?" "No. I think we need to solve this ourselves." "Do you think we can?" "I don't know.  But what I know is that I don't want to go through that again.  I think we have to hope we can find a solution." "Otherwise, despair." "Yeah.   Truce?" "Okay,  truce." And they hugged.   "When we know what we want we can figure out how to get there."   That began six years of angry battles, with Odie insisted he could dress as he pleased and Lois insisting it did not please her at all.  He told her she was not going to control him and she replied that she still had rights as a wife to a husband. Neither was willing to give in, neither was willing to quit, and their heated arguments ended in hugs and more.   They went to a Crossdressers' Club, where they hoped to meet other couples with the same problems, the same conflicts, and the same answers, if anyone had any.  It took them four tries before they settled on a group that they were both willing to participate in.  This was four couples their own age, each with a cross dressing husband and a wife who was dealing with it.  They met monthly.  It was led by a 'mediator' who wanted people to express how they felt about the situation.  Odie and Lois, as newcomers, got the floor, and the meeting was finally dismissed at 1:30 in the morning - it was supposed to be over at 10 - and everyone knew how they felt about the situation.   There was silence in the car on the way home.   "We aren't the only ones dealing with this." Odie finally said.   "Who would have thought that?  You are right."   "Somebody out there has a solution." "I hope you are right."   "I hope in hope, not in despair."   "That's my Odie."
    • Abigail Genevieve
The counseling session was heated, if you could call it a counseling session.  Sometimes Lois felt he was on Odie's side, and sometimes on hers.  When he was on her side, Odie got defensive. She found herself being defensive when it seemed they were ganging up on each other.   "This is not working," Lois said angrily, and walked out.  "Never again. I want my husband back. Dr. Smith you are complicit in this."   "What?" said Odie.   The counselor looked at him.  "You will have to learn some listening skills."   "That is it? Listening skills?  You just destroyed my marriage, and you told me I need to learn listening skills?"   Dr. Smith said calmly,"I think you both need to cool off."   Odie looked at him and walked out, saying "And you call yourself a counselor."   "Wait a minute."   "No."

I have read some of it, mostly in areas specifically targeted at the LGBTQ+ peoples.   You also have to take into account what and who is behind the words, not just the words themselves. Together that creates context, right? Let's take some examples, under the Department of Health & Human Services section:   "Radical actors inside and outside government are promoting harmful identity politics that replaces biological sex with subjective notions of “gender identity” and bases a person’s worth on his or her race, sex, or other identities. This destructive dogma, under the guise of “equity,” threatens American’s fundamental liberties as well as the health and well-being of children and adults alike."   or   "Families comprised of a married mother, father, and their children are the foundation of a well-ordered nation and healthy society. Unfortunately, family policies and programs under President Biden’s HHS are fraught with agenda items focusing on “LGBTQ+ equity,” subsidizing single-motherhood, disincentivizing work, and penalizing marriage. These policies should be repealed and replaced by policies that support the formation of stable, married, nuclear families."   From a wording perspective, who doesn't want to protect the health and well-being of Americans or think that families aren't good for America? But let's take a look at the author, Roger Severino. He's well-quoted to be against LGBTQ+ anything, has standard christian nationalist views, supports conversion therapy, etc.   So when he uses words like "threatens the health and well-being of children and adults alike" it's not about actual health, it's about enforcing cis-gendered ideology because he (and the rest of the Heritage Foundation) believe LGBTQ+ people and communities are harmful. Or when he invokes the family through the lens of, let's just say dog whistles including the "penalization of marriage" (how and where?!), he idealizes families involving marriage of a "biological male to a biological female" and associates LGBTQ+ family equity as something unhealthy.   Who are the radical actors? Who is telling people to be trans, gay, or queer in general? No one. The idea that there can be any sort of equity between LGBTQ+ people and "normal" cis people is abhorrent to the author, so the loaded language of radical/destructive/guise/threaten are used. Families that he believes are "good" are stable/well-ordered/healthy, specifically married/nuclear ones.   Start looking into intersectionality of oppression of non-privileged groups and how that affects the concept of the family and you will understand that these platitudes are thinly veiled wrappers for christian nationalist ideology.   What's wrong with equity for queer families, to allow them full rights as parents, who are bringing up smart and able children? Or single mothers who are working three jobs to get food on plates?

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.
