@Ann WThat's cute outfit.

@Heather NicoleCongratulations on the therapist. I think that would be really weird to say under any other circumstances.

Today, I got a whole new appreciation for the term "snail mail".  Back in February, I sent off my application to the federal government to update my citizenship records with my new name and gender.  Today, I got email confirmation that my application has been received.

I probably would have just freaked out, terrified my stuff got forever lost or ended up in the wrong hands.

Thanks @Bri2020

That's great news @Heather Nicole.  It's awesome how you made that happen.  I had an hour long telephone intake session today with the place where I'll be having a weekly appointment.  It went well.

It's strange to answer questions and talk openly about this, but I'm so ready to see where this goes.  And of course, they're cool about it, being an LGBTQ kinda place.

Thanks Elizabeth, that's all girl needs to hear.  I always envied that look, but without bottom surgery I should probably cover up some how.

Well it has been about a week since I came out at work. Nothing said to the negative. Even the boss hasn't said anything. With quite a few things have Kymbrill listed. One in particular is the almost spreadsheet like listing of our sales and goals. Has my name as Kymbrill.

When I first noticed the change. I came out to one of the other managers. No problems, He even has asked me how I came up with the name Kymbrill.

Got a voice mail reminder of my endo appointment on the 20. They mentioned a letter. I am like letter, what letter. So I called back. the letter is from my mental health practitioner about my mental status to start HRT.  With the VA everything is in my records. So I will get with my MH Dr and My GYN about the letter.

Things are going to well. I almost expect something to happen.

LOL ? That's a really good point, I love it!!! Thanks for that, I really needed that right now! ? I love irony :)

For what its worth, my heart goes out to all of you facing difficulties lately. It really seems to be going around right now. I guess I'm right there with you all in my own way right now, too. (Ugh, you all should've heard me IRL just a moment ago... :() I knew election evening stress would get to me, and...sometimes I really hate being right...

OOOMMMMGGGGG!!!!!! On a separate topic, I just now saw a commercial for...what I assume to be a third season of Star Trek Discovery...!!! Holy......!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!! Yesss!!!!!!! ('Course I'm much more "The Orville" at this point, but...still!!! Squeee!!!!!!!)

And thanks so much to so many for all the congrats. I'm not sure how much starting therapy really deserves that, but it's all so very good to hear!!! I really love the support here. ???

Good morning,

I woke up extra early today. Had to watch the news, feels like my future depends on it.

I'm feeling optimistic and am going to wear colors today. I have to think about it otherwise I just default to all black, that includes my jewelry. I would love to wearing leggings to work but I've been doing a lot more field work than usual so I can't. It's either jeans or work issue polyester pants?. We'll see how well I can put a cute yet colorful out together.

I didn't get to see more than the first season of The Orville but really liked it. Haven't had a chance to see any of Discovery.

Woke up this morning horribly disapointed!  I thought Americans would wholesale reject Trump and his enablers.  Instead we're in for days, weeks, or months of recounts and legal challenges, because its fairly close.

At least Sarah McBride became the first Trans State Senator.  Go Sister! Interesting, that the news always says openly trans.  Makes you wonder if there were stealth trans senators in the past, and who they were...   Is Mitch McConnel really a trans man????

Kymmie

I went through the same thing with the VA.

Some letter was needed. But no one had any idea what it was. VA internal procedure is drastically different than the external medical world, so my prescription was held up another month and a half on top of my year long wait.

What a frustrating pain in the behind!

But all I'd good now (until the next hiccup).

I just have my fingers crossed this morning.  I try to not let this insanity bother me but it's there anyway.  Letting go of the anger and fear seems impossible but spending the day in the woods and listening to an audio of Pema Chodron should help!

Hugs,

It's not the fact that you are in therapy but, that you get to work on being a happier you. That is what everyone here wants for each other. It is a beautiful thing to be cherished.:art:

@Shay regardless of how it goes we will all get through it the best we know how. There is no guarantee things will happen any certain way until they do. It's best to let go of the concern of the unknown and save strength for when there is something tangible to deal with.

@Abi thank you Ani. My euphoria is through the roof but yours are wise words. As with the serenity prayer. I did what I could control now I realize this is something I have no control of and find peace inside.

@ShayYou have so much going on lately and I am so sorry for your loss. It is a stressful time, I'm sure. We will get whatever we get after the election and we can deal with that then. You have to remember to focus on what is right in front of you and let the other stuff go. Even if things don't go the way most of us hope they do, we will all survive that. No one person can take us all down unless we allow it.

I feel exactly the same. No HRT, so full testosterone cry-blocking, and yet I'm still in tears right now (Thank goodness no mascara for me yet). And very late for work. Total wreck. I guess it's good that it's not even decided yet here now the next day, compared to last time, but the stress is killing me.

Yeah…

Regime is the right word.  I'm beginning to feel like I have a target on my back.

4 years seems like a long time.

But hey, I'm hoping to go camping this weekend with some of the family.  Gotta make the best of things.

Girl, this is the fourth week for Discovery season 3. Orville while I have started it. is campy funny.

I believe each of us deserve to have a great therapist. I know I do.  I sent a secure message to mine about my letter. Haven't checked yet if she has responded. I just got out of bed and the shower.

I am not physically out at work, I am out to the company right now that is all that matters to me. My coworker asked me if I wanted him to use the female pronouns. I told him male is fine for now. I am waiting till I have my shirts saying Kymbrill for that time.

@TommieAnne I guess I take my journey with the VA for granted. Once I came out, I started seeing a Gender therapist. about 3 months later my evaluation for being trans. I was scared that they wouldn't see that I was trans. Now I am seeing a voice therapist, and a GYN along with my gender therapist.

@KymmieL congratulations on the progress you’ve made at work.

I am getting better at my makeup. I’ve switched from pencil to liquid eyeliner.  That takes a steady hand and a good mirror but today I got it with no erasures.  Foundation mascara eye shadow all good and didn’t take all that long.

ive got to go fire up my computer.  (This is my iPad) I have my video appointment with my endocrinologist at 10.

hugs

Well I finally convinced my endocrinologist that progesterone without estrogen wasn’t doing anything for me. He is adding estrogen but indicated it may take time for the pharmacy to get it.  It’s not something normally stocked, and I’ll have to notify them in advance of needing more.

Really? My pharmacy has rafts of the stuff. Are there no post-menopausal women in your area that need hormonal supplements? It just seems like a weird statement to me.

Good morning everyone,

My business partner and I are looking at ways to wind down our business, and go separate ways. We've been in business together since 1999 and worked together in the safety department for a major tank truck company (CLTL) before that. I joined CLTL in 1979 and he came to the company in 1993. This coming Sunday is my 64th birthday leaving me one more year before singing up for Medicare/Medicaid. We don't want to just dissolve the company, we hope to sell our catalog of products to a safety company of some sort. He's four years younger than me, and is looking at retirement as well. I'm tired, and just don't want to run my portion of the business any more. It keeps me in the closet for many reasons.

The coffee was Hot, Black, and Strong. Thanks for letting me vent.

Hugs for everyone,

Mindy???

That's not a vent at all @Mmindy.  Actually it sounds like good news.  As we get older some things do come into clearer focus.  Nearing 65 is certainly a good inflection point.  Best of luck in selling your business!

Hugs, Jani

It was stupid of me, the cop was in front of me in a u-turn cut in a spot I know about. I was running a little late because of the slow truck, and the cop happened to be there today. It is like one of only three places for a speed trap on my commute. I usually don’t speed as I try to leave enough of a time buffer in the morning.

The worst possible scenario is 4 points on my license, which a defensive driving course will negate it. I had considered getting a lawyer, but it is probably not worth the expense.
    • Ivy
Yeah, I was puzzling on that too…

Good luck maam 😊 I’ve experienced that they’ll lower the points , if you show up in court and pay the ticket.

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums Mealaini,   Like you I knew in my preteen years that I was meant to be a girl, but didn't have any way to bring it up in the early 1960s. It was the expanding news outlets on the telly that allowed me to understand that I may not be the only person who felt this way. Wow was my mind expanded once the internet became a reasonable research tool in the 1990s.   My grown daughter (42) is nonbinary and atheist with pagan leanings. So when I came out to her she was thrilled and wanted to dress me up and show me the world. Well I think she wanted to show me to the world. My son (45) is evangelical christian and very upset with his sister for many reasons. However he's a reluctant supporter of me as transgender. I'm out to my wife and we've been married for 48 years this June, so I'm in a very late in life transition.   The other thing that has me going down an internet rabbit hole is your location. It clearly states United Kingdom with a sub flag of Illinois. I've searched the web and can't seem to locate Illinois, UK. Am I missing something?    Best wishes,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Thank you for sharing, @Mealaini, and welcome.    I appreciate your description of IFS and your book recommendation. I have a few close friends who are very enthusiastic about IFS and my therapist is incorporating some of those elements into my therapy.    -Timi

Leg hair.  Shaving it was a surprisingly big decision.  (Not as big as the beard tho)  After I did it a few times, it's never really grown back.  Haven't shaved them in a couple of years and you'd never know it.  A daughter living with me doesn't shave hers, and she is much furrier than I ever was.     I don't exactly hate my living as a guy in the past.  TBH, I was never quite there anyway.  But I just dropped it.  I live full time fem, and it would bother me a lot to go back to being a guy.  But I don't have to appease family or an employer.

@Loreleiit always sucks getting a ticket for passing a slower vehicle. I'm guessing the police officer was some distance behind you until you performed your passing maneuver. My most costly ticket was from a similar situation, however we were heading out of town and the last straight stretch of road to pass the two slower vehicles ahead of me was still in a 35mph zone. I didn't see the officer behind me and as soon as I pulled out to pass he turned on his lights and siren. Since I was in the process of passing, I figured the next safe place to pull over was at the upcoming roadside park. He didn't accept that and wrote me up for passing two gaps, speed in excess of 15mph over, and failure to stop. He did not care to hear about any fellowship in public safety, and no professional curiosities would be honored.  I did go to court plead my case and the judge, and he did see my point of continuing to pass with the intentions of pulling over safely at the roadside park. He was very familiar with the location. This allowed him to drop the failure to stop charges, but I did have to pay the full 15mph over speeding ticket. So my lesson learned was to never pass when entering or leaving a small town or village.   Hugs, and good luck in court.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
