Putting the feelers out...

I've told three people I know irl about me being trans and countless thousands online.

 

I've had a lot of battling and confusing and weirdness in my brain about how trans I am so I didn't really ever wish to tell my family in case I was wrong.

I'm not wrong.

I'm very transgender.

 

So I've started to put some feelers out on the old Facebook to see how people react.

Not "I'm transgender get over it" stuff, but mainly some positive trans and gay messages and changing my hometown to rainbowville etc 

 

The people I KNOW are pro trans and gay have been positive as I expected but sadly there are others who have made a joke of it. Like I myself am making a joke.

 

I don't want to lose friends but I will if need be, but with most of my family already dead, I don't want to lose my sister and her family.

 

I guess I'm just scared.

 

How did people react to you?

Hello JustKatie.

It's a scary thing. But (for me) not as scary as trying to hide myself all the time.

Living in a conservative part of the USA I still don't broadcast my status, but I am determined to just be myself. The result has been a lessening of anxiety and an overall calm in my life.

You just have to pick and choose your direction.
