How important are clothes for your self image and does make up or clothes actually improve you mood?
By awkward-yet-sweet · Posted
For me, its the absence of clothes that improves my mood. If I had a choice, I would wear only my ribbon choker collar and grass sandals. Clothes are restrictive and overrated most of the time. If I have to wear something, I prefer shorts and a t-shirt. Uncomplicated and mostly gender-neutral. I -

Welcome back, @Sora-Solar. Thanks for all the information, and best wishes on your journey of self-discovery! It is never too early, or too late, to embark on such a journey, as I have found myself. HUGS Carolyn Marie -

A few months back, I filled out an online form to get a binder, and today it finally arrived! It's a full-length one and a nice tan color that is only a few shades lighter than my skin. When I put it on, I couldn't stop running my hands over my chest, thinking, "Wow... this feels really different, I love it." Honestly, when I first wore it, I ended up crying because I realized I haven't felt comfortable in my own skin for so long. But when I put on the binder, I finally felt like I was being myself. I haven't come out to my family yet, so I had to sneak the package into the house under my sweater. This binder means everything to me, and I’m excited to really embrace who I am. And yes I know the rules to a binder: 1. **Limit Wear Time**: Do not wear the binder for more than 8 hours a day. 2. **Take Breaks**: Regularly take breaks to allow your body to rest and breathe. 3. **Weekly Limit**: Wear the binder no more than 5 days a week. 4. **Avoid Exercise**: Try not to exercise in the binder; if necessary, opt for a larger size. 5. **Keep It Dry**: Avoid getting the binder wet and do not sleep in it. 6. **Listen to Your Body**: Take breaks when needed and stop using the binder if you experience any pain. 7. **Stretch Often**: Make sure to stretch regularly to avoid any discomfort or stiffness. -

Hi! You might recognize me by previous names like Kyle or Kai, but I have now chosen to go by Sora or Solar. Over the past few months, I've taken a step back from being active while I chosen to go on a personal journey of self-discovery. During this time, I researched various gender identities and created a detailed chart online to help clarify my feelings. Although I understand that my identity may continue to change, I currently feel safe and comfortable identifying as I do now. I identify as FTM (Female to Male), Non-Binary, and Demiboy. This means that while I was assigned female at birth, I resonate with the identity of a male, but I also embrace a non-binary aspect of myself. My pronouns are He/They/Xe/Ze/Fae. Here are examples that illustrate how to use each set of pronouns properly, in case you're unfamiliar with them: - **He/Him**: "His backpack is cool; maybe he is friendly—just look at him." - **They/Them**: "Their backpack is cool; maybe they are friendly—just look at them." - **Xe/Xem**: "Xyr backpack is cool; maybe xe is friendly—just look at xem." - **Ze/Zir**: "Zir backpack is cool; maybe ze is friendly—just look at zir." - **Fae/Faer**: "Faer backpack is cool; maybe fae is friendly—just look at faer." I am currently 13 years old, and my birthday falls on August 23. Writing is one of my greatest passions, especially composing poetry and fanfiction. I often engage myself in various fandoms, and I particularly enjoy anime series such as My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, and Spy x Family. These interests fuel my creativity and inspire many of the stories I write. If you know how to change display names please let me know! Thanks! -

The answer at least in the US is Don VonShitsInPants, the president. As of 2025 he claims we no longer exist and there's just 2 genders, while using the definition of biological sex instead of gender. Well, and I'm also several years too young for surgery. Boy bits have got to go some day. -

Well when we moved to Cali I just met up with my cousins for the first time in years as a girl. I explained to them that I didn't feel like I belonged in my body as male and that male clothes made it feel so much worse. It took a few hours for them to adjust to it, but 0 issues came up. After a few months they now just think of me as their female cousin. I have gotten some uncomfortable questions from them, but I get that they just want to understand. Most of the uncomfortable questions involve describing body dysphoria. -

With time and on-the-bricks life, things change on this one. I have been out and full time for 14 years by now, and I am wearing a pair of shorts from the old male pile and a T-shirt with a Breast Cancer Awareness logo on it. No make-up, but I am seeing where my hair color needs a touch up although I just got done with a good brushing and will leave it long even though I am looking at a 96F (31C) weather day. This is just day to day life by now, how I look is not as important to me as the smiles of people I know just greeting me as I pass by them or chat with them. -

For me it's important. I'll wear jeans if I'm doing something that would otherwise having me flashing underwear, but the rest of the time it's a dress or skirt. Of course I was lucky enough to get blockers and hrt early enough that I easily pass. Ty California! -

Michael got me a pride themed build a bear Friday afternoon after school before we had dinner, and he made homemade pizza for my family this time (yes I've taught him how to cook, which his mom loves lol). Then we shot pool and bowled until 9pm before heading back to his parents place for hulu streaming and mario kart on switch. I fell asleep leaning on him again by the time mom came to pick me up. The first time it happened I thought he'd be offended thinking I was bored, but he knows I'm just so relaxed with him that if it's 10pm or later I'll start snoring eventually if his arms around me. Nobody's ever made a pillow as comfortable as him, or at least that's how I see it. That's 1 way to get past feeling uncomfortable being touched by a guy - use a guy as a pillow! You'll get past that issue real quick. And I don't mean anything sexual when I say touched by a guy. It'll be years before there's more than kissing involved. -

Oh, yes. Clothes can improve my mood. Sometime I just want to come home and slip into a nice skirt. and relax. Kymmie
