I've seen A Soldier's girl, To Wong Foo:..., and several others. I am going to be seeing Normal soon so don't spoil it for me! I liked Transamerica, but I thought they could have done more than simply touch on many topics. They explored the family reactions some and that was good. But the rest was simply glanced off and they moved on their merry way. I wanted more!

One people miss (because it isn't in English) is En Soap (a soap) which is an interesting story filmed in a confined environment.. which makes it all very close and personal.

It's a love story really, and a voyage of discovery for a straight woman who has to work out her mixed emotions on becoming attracted to a transwoman. It should be in the bargain bins somewhere. That's where you tend to find these types of films.

nope none ^^ but I liked Ma Vie en Rose and XXY was a beautiful film

My first date with Ryan was spent watching Ma Vie en Rose with her! It's a fantastic film. We actually decided to name our firstborn Ludovic thanks to that movie. (And for the kid's own benefit I really hope s/he ends up being a boy! I can't imagine a girl enjoying being named Ludovic until she's in her teens. >_<)

I also like Hedwig and the Angry Inch because in a way it portrays a cisgender man experiencing what many FTMs go through every day, having ended up living as a woman when he didn't identify as one in a desperate attempt to escape from his birthplace. In fact, it has a HUGE "from one prison to another" dyamic that I'm sure just about any transgender person feels they experience at some point.
