My Analogy

Last night I had a thought. What is the difference between CD/Andros and MTF's/

Well here is my thoughts a bit Freudian true..but that can't be helped.

A CD/Andro is born as a hot dog..and dressed in a hamburger bun....this gives them the ability to see and feel the feminine condition and is not a voluntary decision. They are true hot dogs but unlike the general male population they are given this gift of gender dysphoria and although at times it may be confusing the "bun' syndrome once accepted is a joy for us all.

The MTF's are born as true "burgers' but are given this hot dog bun as outerwear, a true mistake and although they feel all the emotions of womanhood from the time they are four or five yrs. old they have this darn hot dog outer look that confuses, and frustrates them..and of course they will eventually shed that bun and proudly be true "burgers inside and out.

Obviously this is the same for FTM's..and even more ...........obvious I want to go on a picnic..

See you all soon Love Mia ............. B)

Ah, it all becomes clear.

There are so many different viewpoints here, and I admit I accept them all at face value - I don't understand some of them at all, and since my understanding has absolutely no bearing at all on their validity, I have to take them at face value. But I do get the hot dog and hamburger thing... Very clever, and very clear.

I have never thought of myself as a hamburger before, but I certainly can relate to shedding the hot dog bun at my very earliest opportunity!

Bad news for the guys, do you know what hot dogs are really made of? :o

And actually oncw the hamburger has shed that hot dog bun aren't we really just beef patties?

Not to be confused with Perrpermint Patties which are either cartoon girls who like playing baseball and Charlie Brown or it is a wonderful candy by York that is a giant mint covered with dark chocolate - I'll be back after a short raid on the kitchen. :D

Love ya,

Oh, Evan!

Don't be such a weiner!

Very interesting.

Another difference, I think would be that gender expression is a preference. Men who prefer to wear women's clothing, women who prefer to wear men's. Whereas gender identity is a state of being, a need.

Well, for me, I wouldn't agree. I don't feel that my cross-dressing is a choice as much as an...urge, maybe, at least. Or, at times, a compulsion. There are times when I would definitely choose not to have this complication in my life (and my wife definitely would). And my cross-dressing includes a wig, makeup and breastforms, so it goes beyond just a wardrobe choice, just not as far as a need for a permanent gender change. I think maybe the difference for me is that I want to be able to go back and forth--best of both worlds! (I won't even hazard a food analogy here!)

It's probably inaccurate to try to generalize any of this, since we're all such different people, and constantly changing even at that.

True, true, I kind of forgot about that. :P Thinking now of the counterpart, too, a butch woman wearing a dress, (world of no!) that's, yeah, that's a bit more than a preference, eh?

What would be a better word... Demand? Psychological demand?

In my personal experience from the other end of the pond, my need is not a demand, compulsion, nothing like that. It's just... me. The need is that when I wasn't calling myself he and wearing boys clothes I would cry myself to sleep every night. I have some OCD so I know what compulsions are like, this isn't as immediate as that, it's just a chronic, constant nagging need that gets worse over time, like hunger.

And Joanna, ha ha, I would ask you to go into more detail... but I won't. :P

No there is no choice and there is no compulsion it is simply who we are like throwing a ball left handed or right..this is who we are and you can't fight it, wife(which we all seem to have)or not..how we have it is a mystery but we do and we live this dual gender existence..and that is our gender code we didn't choose it..we may have tried to stop it..but it "ain't gonna happen"..we are the same as the transgendered in our own way..just less painful( SRS) and less expensive(HRT) but we are part of our dear sisters and brothers....

We just have to accept it.....and embrace its mystery.....Mia

Picnic and grilling foods aside, I think it interesting that a number of us here that have selected 'Crossdresser' for our profile, have selected feminine names for our online presence. (I put down 'Transgender' for this exact reason.)

I would think a 'plain' crossdresser would be like some of the members here who are going by male names.

That we have chosen our female persona to appear here seems to suggest that there's a lot more going on for some of us then the basic definition of crossdresser or it other names (like tv, etc) provides. I find I don't feel comfortable with any of the definitions I've seen, feeling that they don't really apply to me. Yet, I also have some need to belong to something, some group, some label, I suppose.

But, I am glad I came to Laura's because I'm finding enough others who do seem to have a similar 'need' or 'urge' or whatever we may call it to dress beyond a basic item of clothing. And let me tell you, for me, it is definitely a desire to go beyond that. Yet, at the same time, I have to admit I have had an active life as a male, being married (twice) for a total of over 30 years, having grown successful children (and more), and an active private life.

Yet, I'm not particularly attached to any part of me. They could go tomorrow - if they were replaced by other appropriate parts - and I would be a little sad for a moment, but not devestated like a lot of guys I know. I have sort of wished for being different on and off throughout my life, but the choices I have made are the ones that have led me to where I am now. Which means that SRS is definitely not a choice. Maybe once a dream.

I'm just not sure where I do belong, tho, so far, many of the threads here in this forum, I definitely have a feeling for. So, maybe I belong here regardless of the name or description of the title.

For me it's more an itch that needs to be scratched. You can ignore it for a while, but then it just gets worse. And Oh! the wonderful relief when it IS finally scratched...........

Don't forget TJ Maxx for purses.  I have purchased several from there.  They offer a great variety with good prices.  You can even find high-end bags at affordable prices.   @Ladypcnj purses are one of my weaknesses as well.

When I get stuck in androgynous mode for an extended period I have to admit that I salve the dysphoria at times through retail therapy.    And, I've been busy. I search for bargains a lot of eBay, put items on my watchlist, wait for an offer and then typically make a lower counter-offer. Most of the items I buy are new. The strategy has gotten me some amazing deals on brand name clothes.   I will also admi to being a Talbot's Girl and all these are Talbot's items. Their clothes just seem ti fit me well. New in my closet are:

We have even had them here from time to time I am afraid.   The rights of Free Speech actually carry a weighty responsibility to take the consequences of making that speech and it is that responsibility where the persons making the FREE hateful statements break down.  They insist that the Right shields them from the consequences, but it makes them all the more liable for them in reality.

When and if a post is removed here, there is always a PM to the poster to explain the action and offer them an opportunity to amend the post to align with T&C's (if possible).     Certainly!  There are always those who will flaunt the rules.

Actually, Memorial Day is the day where we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.   Veteran's Day, November 11th, is the day where we honor all who served.   Here is something I found that distinguishes among Memorial, Veteran's and Armed Forces day.

Welcome to TGP, Amy! You'll find many like-minded people here as well as tons of information. Don't worry about trying to describe yourself. Relax, ask questions, and join in where you feel comfortable.    I started out like you, crossdressing in private, even hiding it from my wife, before coming to the realization that it was much more. I'm still only out to my wife, therapist and priest.....and, of course, everyone here. We all understand how difficult it can be to find oneself amid the emotions and challenges.    We are each unique yet share many commonalities.    We're glad you found us!

I was doing my best to get past the fear and shame i felt whenever i went out in public so when i went to therapy and later to my doctor i presented as the woman i felt myself to be.  There was a policy that one had to live as their chosen gender for a year prior to starting HRT.  In some ways that seemed almost right to me as one of the hardest things we do is the entry into society as ourselves.     Of course the way you dress is up to you but be assured that your doctor is there to support not denigrate your decision.   Hugs,   Charlize

You are right, there are no actual 'roos in Tassie, just their smaller cousins like wallabies and pademelons. Devils are really cute. If you got to see the adults in full noise, you can easily understand why they got portrayed that way in the Looney Tunes cartoons! Emus, or 'bush chooks', have a habit of sneaking up on you and stealing food. I was at an open range zoo a few years ago and was holding a bag of pellets behind me to hide it from the emus in front of me, when one snuck up behind me and stole it. I've never jumped so high in my life! I almost needed to change my undies! 😆
