Songs That Seem To Capture What You Feel Or Have Felt

For example, "Bad Habit" by the Dresden Dolls was an amazing capture of my attitude when I was living as a girl in puberty and self injuring. It talks about anger and frustration that no one is catching you when it is obvious as well as people's obliviousness to suffering because they are too obsessed with unimportant things. It also says how it's so hard to quit and it feels like everything you tried fails. Luckily I managed to quit, but at the time it seemed impossible. "Labyrinth" by Oomph seems to be a perfect photograph of what I felt when I was going through psychosis, especially the music video. Well, the subtitled music video is the only way I knew what the lyrics actually are so I guess I wouldn't know how well it captures psychosis if it were not for the video but the video is definitely very much like how I felt too. "Girl Anachronism" by the Dresden Dolls is a good description of how I felt when I was a young child, except I was a boy, people just didn't know. However, I felt more like an anachronism from the future than the past. I felt like that I was supposed to be born a hundred years later in a time when people would understand me. Asperger's Sydrome was already discovered, people didn't know about it so they just said I was a brat when I screamed when people touched me. When I eventually was diagnosed it seemed at first a relief and then an insult that they would say who I am is nothing more than a disorder. Who are they to tell me that my personality, my intellect and my entire mind set is a disease? Hopefully it won't be a hundred years to have people accept Asperger's as a different way of being and not a disease. I still sort of consider myself an anachronism to an extent so I guess the song still captures who I am. I have to say "Until the Day You Die" by Abney Park seems to capture how I am now, which is carrying on despite what people think. However, obviously I am not a laser sling air pirate, though it would be awesome if I was. Yeah, anyway, what songs capture what you feel?

A modified Beatle song. "Hey Jude"

"Don't be afraid - you were made to go out and 'be' her."

"The minute you let her under your skin - they you begin to make it better."

Silly I know.

Praised be! I would marry you! (another post!) BUT I looked at your profile. I am 3.5 times your age! BUt I think in most ways you are older than me... and I have an old soul... so know that some of us see much more in you than you see in yourself. Cryptic huh, sorry? GRIN... better go get my coffee fix!

When i was young, i liked Supertramp The Logical Song:

There are times when all the world's asleep, The questions run too deep, For such a simple man, Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned, I know it sounds absurd, But please tell me who I am

When i was upset i liked Pearl Jam's Why Go

she scratches a letter, into a wall made of stone, maybe someday, another child, won't feel as alone as she does

it's been two years, and counting, since they put her in this place, she's been diagnosed, by some stupid *****, and mommy agrees, why go home?, why go home?,why go home...

she seems to be stronger, but what they want her to be is weak, she could just pretend, she could join the game, she could be another clone

why go home?

what you taught me, put me here, don't come visit, mommy dear

When i'm with my lover i like Billy Joel's You May Be Right

The refrain goes:

You may be right, I may be crazy, But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for, Turn out the light, Don't try to save me, You may be wrong for all I know, But you may be right

I like the part where he says:

You were lonely for a man, I said take me as I am, 'Cause you might enjoy some madness for a while

I think one that relates to us all, because although we are all going in the same direction no two trails are the same, would be that old Sinatra classic My Way. When the chips are down the only way to do transition is your way.

There was an old song in the late 70s, Andy Williams recorded called "The Other Side Of Me" - there are two new songs by that title now but the old one is more to the point for us.

And this has got to be our Anthem - all rise and face the world with your hands over your hearts as you listen.

I've Gotta Be Me

You may now be seated.

Love ya,

Sally

What I don’t like about the dealer working on my car, yes the put the paper mats on the floor, but why don’t they remove them when they bring my car to me?  And why do they always mess with my radio settings and my electronic dashboard settings?  I get them the way I want them and they seem to want them at factory default.  Leave things like you find them!  Why is that so difficult?  And don’t tell me it’s because the updated the computer! Every time!.  And no I haven’t figured out everything yet on the new car.  I can’t even get my key programmed to move my seat when I get in and out.  It’s supposed to move the seat, the mirrors, the steering wheel and several other things.  My old Eddie Bauer was easy to program but then it only programmed seat location and pedal location.   ok now that we’ve had our rousing knock on cars and dealer mechanics.  What else shall we talk about?  Bras?  Seems like an appropriate subject for most of us.  I have several different types. Two are famous store push-up padded to are more common everyday lightly padded ant one is a no padding no strap slip and the last one is a front close longline no padding.  Now that one supports the theory that I am now a B cup on my own. I’d prefer a C but then I’m not so sure my blouses would still fit without pulling.  Ah the problem we have as women.  And sizes are never ever the same.  Oh I’m a size ??  But men I need a large shirt and 36-30 pants and they always fit.   we can’t buy anything off the rack with confidence it will fit and I hate having to take it home to try one and return what doesn’t fit.   we’ll time to do my hair and leave.   love ya   Willow

Hello we are The lake. So called because This One has not determined a name for oneself but has in a way created an environment to try out multiple names as different people. Currently Some of us use she/her pronouns and one uses he/him. We hope to learn more about being transgender and the intricacies involved. Once again it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance and we hope to be of further help in the future.

https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-politics-and-policy/18-states-sue-biden-administration-transgender-worker-protections-rcna152239     When the R's are in power they love having the EEOC promulgate rules favoring employers.  But when the D's are in power, they just hate it when the EEOC makes or enforces rules that favor employee rights; most especially trans employee rights.  Then it becomes "government overreach."  Funny how that works out.    Carolyn Marie
