Hi, All,

I do not have the courage to ask my doctor for hormones. She knows I am a transgender person, and that some day I would love to transition. Does any of the over the counter estrogen-like herbs work? If so whcih ones and at what does.

Thanks for the help!!!!

Honey......

Herbals are a no-no....

Lookie here...

q. Users may not discuss how to obtain hormones without a prescription or their specific dosages of hormones nor encourage the taking of non-prescription drugs. ie. herbal hormones

The taking of hormones without being under a doctors supervision is a very dangerous thing to do.

Herbal hormones are VERY dangerous!

There are no good ways to know about dosages and the quality varies....

Laura herself is in a wheelchair due to a stroke from taking herbal hormones....

Please ask your doctor about some sort of regemin for you that they could prescribe....

Please don't mess with herbals......OK?

HUGGS!

Sorry

I have to agree with Donna Jean on this one.

The best thing you could do is muster the courage to ask your doctor for hormones, even if you have to write what you want to say and read it to your doctor when you're there. ;)

The risks of doing anything without your doctor's supervision are just way too dangerous and the benifits (if any) are too few.

Thank you all for the good advice, will work on the "courage" part

So, how is the courage going?

Are you going to talk to your doctor - that is the best and only safe way.

Aside from risking your health you can spend a small fortune on these things that don't really do that much for you.

Love ya,

Sally

Think about it this way, even if herbals worked, which they don't you would still need the courage to tell your doctor and other people. If you have breasts and so on you would have to hide it and never see a doctor or undress in front of people if you were to scared to tell anyone.

Don't use herbal or medicine that you buy over the internet. The places that sell them operate outside of the country and have zero liability if something goes wrong. You could end up with estrogen that is not as strong as it is labeled or the wrong stuff entirely. Also it costs just about as much if not more to self medicate as it does to go through a doctor but is so much more dangerous. Specially regarding herbal, they won't do a thing but deplete you of money.

When you say your doctor do you mean your therapist?

Why are you too scared to ask your doctor to start hrt? If you started hrt on your own (not condoning this at all) how would you handle the situation when it becomes visibly apparent that you are transitioning?

You don't need to be afraid to bring the topic of your desire to start hrt up to your therapist. The worst that would happen is they don't have any experience in the area themselves and they recommend you to someone that does have the experience that yu need. But your therapist is not going to freak out on you. I know it's scary coming out but you need to take the first step, if only emotionally. There are no short cuts in. transitioning.

We're here for you though. Please talk to your doctor.

Good morning all,

I want to thank you all for all the good advice, guidance, and encouragment. I guess I am afraid to set in motion something from which there may be no return, and much to lose (my children). I guess I am also afraid of asking becaouse some how I feel I do not deseve it. I am not asking for pity but just sharing how I trully feel.

Thanks again!!!

I will tell you what Donna jean always tells me - Don't be like that!

You do deserve it!

You are transgender and as such if you need to transition to feel comfortable in your own body, you have every right to do so.

Ask for the Hormones - they are not going to ask for you!

As far as losing your children - there are no guarantees either way but think about your relationship with them now - they do not even know you - they no a character that you are playing.

As Lizzy so often says, "Being Trans ain't for sissies."

Be strong and you will be able to be yourself.

Love ya,

Sally

If this goes on, I am conceding the real possibility of being stopped in WM or somewhere by a concerned citizen who tells me, "Lady, God made you female.  I don't think you should be trying to look like a man. You need to return to your true gender and be comfortable living your life out as a woman."   Begin odd and awkward conversation.  I have been thinking about this this morning.

There are many MAGA GOP types who are not transphobes, of course. Some MAGA GOP types are transgender.

I'm hoping to read the next section today.  Many of the reforms they are calling for are good, such as expediting the military procurement process, and have nothing to do with transgender issues.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

In this case the MAGA GOP transphobes Just my opinion of course

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.

      Who, precisely, are "they"?

Wife of mine pointed out that not getting a haircut for a month looks hideous - weird bald patches.  So back to super- short buzz cut.  This morning I braced, looking in the mirror.  I look like a woman trying to pass as a a guy, maybe  a small-breasted woman with enough T treatment to grow a mustache.    I would not believe me if I read what I write about me.  This is nuts.   White t-shirt: that they sell in the back of WM so you can tie-dye them or otherwise decorate them. They are thick and long lasting and slightly fitted, so that they could be a man's.  I like them.   Jeans, flip flops.   I will no longer point out these are women's.  What else would I wear?

That is all that is necessary. I did the same thing. I must have gotten something wrong.
