All my friends seemed to be able to just... pick it up! Without lessons or anything.

It is really annoying when others seem to be just good at it straight away. *jealous*

I know!! I took some lessons.... took me an awfully long time to pick up guitar and I worked pretty hard at it.... harder than most it seems.

Inertial dampeners (generally found in spaceships ) counteract rapid accelerations i.e. prevent people being thrown from their seats in an undignified manner (unless required for cinematic/comic effect) and materials breaking apart (unless that looks cool).
