Inertial dampeners (generally found in spaceships ) counteract rapid accelerations i.e. prevent people being thrown from their seats in an undignified manner (unless required for cinematic/comic effect) and materials breaking apart (unless that looks cool).

Aso ave a mug I like-actuually have 2 i switch epending on mood to use but pics don't show it too well

it's a plasma mug-looks like lightening in the glass part-well you know what plasma stuff does
