Hello All,

Please excuse my strange/intrusive post, but there are a few questions that I have to ask and I hope someone can answer them for me. This post is solely for an Female to male Transman whose had phalloplasty bottom surgery. My name is Danny, I am an FTM whose going to start Testerone soon.

Phalloplasty is practically the only bottom surgery that can make the penis average looking, but can one feel sensation at all during intercourse? How painful was the surgery?, I know one has to go back to complete surgeries because of complications, How many times does one have to go? How expensive was the surgery and which surgeon did you use? Would you recommend them? My last question is with phallopasty can one have a natural erection or does one have to use a pump? Hey, I haven't had a phalloplasty but I can answer some of the questions:

1. I have heard of many guys who can feel sensation during intercourse/oral sex

2. generally it's 2-4 stages (it depends on if you get an erectile device/if you have any complications). usually three stages if you get an erectile device + no complications

3. phalloplasties can run upwards of $50k+ in the US (though I don't think most are that high), and generally between $10 - $30k outside of the US

4. with phalloplasties you can't have a natural erection. the most commonly used methods for erectile devices are a semi-rigid rod or a pump.

I have yet to come across a transman here who has had any bottom surgery. Those are all very good questions you have and I hope you can find someone who can answer then for you.

Can't speak for myself because I haven't had it yet but I'll give you the answers as told to me by a friend offline who has. Yes he can feel intercourse but only erotically from the point his natural organ was implanted downwards (ie. not from there to the tip), yes he still orgasms and can orgasm during sex, he had the surgery done more than once but not because of "problems" with the first time; first time there were no subsequent surgeries needed for problems. He CHOSE to have it done the second time (lots of years later and after having a "happy " life with the first version) in order to change sizes - he had complications during that second surgery and the donated tissue died. He also got an infection. As far as I recall, he didn't have to have subsequent surgeries after the third one. Yes, a pump is utilized for erections but doesn't seem to give him any problems during performance.

Did your friend go with the urethal lengthening? Or is that implied with phalloplasty? (I can never seem to remember) ...
