What's Your Favorite Brand Of Makeup?

I know many of us use different brands for different things; one for foundation, a different one for eyeliner, a third for mascara.

But, overall, what is your favorite brand, and why?

I'll start off by saying that I like most of the Sephora (J.C. Penney) products, but I don't have a lot of experience yet with other brands. I do like my Cover Girl eyeliner.

I like Sephora because the staff have been really nice, the prices are reasonable, and they have good color selection.

How about the rest of you ladies and girls?

Carolyn.....

Since I have a limited experience in this area...

First off, over the years, my wife has pretty much stopped wearing makeup while I've started to wear it....lol

So, she has all types of quality things that I've been trying.

But, my very favorite is Este Lauder!

And both Lizzy and Becky gave me very nice makeup bags from Este Lauder and I find their quality to be outstanding!

But, as a rule I wear inexpensive makeup day to day and save my Este Lauder for special!

I'm only familiar with most drug store brand products so I'll have to say... Maybelline? No, Max Factor! I swear by their Pan Stick foundation. It's been keeping me concealed for years now. Cover Girl and Revlon also have some good items. I've never tried department store makeup such as Estee Lauder, Clinique or MAC.

MAC - when I can afford it - especially the foundations. Clinique as second choice - skin cleansers are super! I had been using Maybelline lipsticks but I just switched to MAC on that also. Then Este Lauder - especially the skin conditioners, good lipsticks too - which is an excellant middle to high in brand - I buy from the counters in the Department Stores, because you can have a make over and try on products - also get advice. In the Walgreens stores, Max Factor - and the Sally Hausen nail products. I don't like Revlon usually - but they have great sales - I buy mineral eyeshadows then - which are not too important as they are just color. The best nail product manufacturer is OPI! Cover Girl is fine - I just avoid the inexpensive brands because they don't hold up and the pigments are not as strong.

Best? mineral types if you can afford them. Also in the South, mineral base won't melt in your purse in the heat.

Sephora is a favotite source because the staff helps you. Now that I am full time I can get better service there - they gyrate toward the women customers assuming men are with someone. Sephora alo has perfumes and you can sample - no big pressuring like in the Department Stores. I mentioned Walgreens as a very good place to shop - and they always seem to have a sale going on. Just be prepared to have the clerks watching for shop lifters there . CVS tries to be like Walgreens. I DO NOT like shopping Wallymart - too much cheap stuff! And Bed, Bath and Beyond has products but strange brands sometimes. Grocery stores? High prices.

Hope this helps.

Okies...I haven't messed much with makeup over the years. few tubes of lipstick here and there.

But my mom sells Avon and we get anything in the catalog for free. My ever changing master plan. I tell my wife, we stock up on stuff from there from a few campaigns and then I let my mom know in case she cuts me off of the free stuff.

Depending on how this all works out, it may or may not be Avon :)

I am a make-up princess! I <3 make-up. Micabella is probably my all time favorite. Its a dust that can be eye-shadow, bronzer, lip gloss, nail polish, ect. It's amazing. Google it (Jewel it lol) It's fairly cheap and has the most amazing selection of colors.

Well I just had yet another friend recommend MAC. She said if I don't get the makeup, at least get some of their brushes. A little expensive but worth it. So when my brushes need replacing I guess I'll head down to MAC. Maybe I can find an awesome tube of lipstick as well.

Any suggestions on a moisturiser for facial dandruff? Had it for quite a while now? The doctor said it's common and can go down all along the hair line as far down as the belly. Thank god it hasn't gotten that far down.

Well I'm wearing a little right now, and I have to say it tastes as good as it smells, there must be some secret formula they use, cause other brands don't seem to change my mood like this.

Ooo la la, singing away.... Susan Vega on in background. 99.9 f degree album 11th track....

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.

While the Soviet Union did not end up being the source of all evil, I believe that history has shown that Joe McCarthy generally was right. There ARE all kinds of Marxists slithering around. And if that had been dealt with firmly 75 years ago (or more) the nation wouldn't be in the shape that it's in now.    And while I generally oppose the idea of intervening in foreign affairs, the world probably would have been better off if we had taken care of issues in Russia and defeated the Bolshevik Menace back in 1919. God bless the memory of Admiral Kolchak.   Getting back to project 2025, my belief is that Republican efforts are inappropriately focused on trans folks. A minority of a minority does not wreck a nation. But it is easier to focus on trans folks because they can look like they're doing something. They don't have to address the real problems, and really they don't want to address them because they would have to address themselves.  They would also need to admit that the 50 State version of the USA cannot be saved.

@Willow things went pretty well on Monday. I have been working on the project all week long. I've been hanging out with my husband a lot, since he said that nobody would mind because I'm working on company stuff. My work is going slowly, but it is going. Rather better than I had hoped.   I ended up waking up late this morning. After 18 months of only working on house chores, not really used to doing anything else. Actually a little bit tired

Getting back to this… I've seen objections to Critical Race Theory, but simply "critical theory" is a new one on me.  I think we need to be "critical" about a lot of things, or at least examine why we believe what we do about them.  If they stand up under scrutiny, great.  If not perhaps we need to look at something else.   Not all socialists are Soviet Russian Communists. I have read very little Marx myself.  That kind of writing bores me quickly.  But I think there are legitimate concerns about unfettered capitalism.  There are countries that seem to do well on a mixture of capitalism and socialism.  But I am no Tankie.   The Red Scare kinda morphed into the Lavender Scare, and now we have this Transgender Scare.   The thing is, most people are scared to get to know any of the people they are scared of. I'm not scared of evangelical christians.  But I am a little scared of what they seem ready to do to me, because they are scared of me. I am not a scary person - don't want to be.  I'm just an old trans woman trying to mind my own business, and get with what's left of my life. And the 2025 project seems to be designed to make that difficult.
