Where Would You Vacation?

So, just throwing a random question out there,

You have all the money you could ever want, a suitcase full of endless clothes, toiletries, etc, and instead of flying you are transported to your dream holiday destination anywhere in the world.

Where would you go? What do you want to do? How long would you go for?

I'd personally go to New Zealand for a week, go on nature walks almost everyday, bird watching, and experience the local culture.

If I'm lucky enough, I might shed a few sizes before I go home ^.~

Love, Hilda.

P.S - Real destinations ^^ You can't go aboard the Starship enterprise or go live with Spongebob for a week :)

I should probably pick someplace that I haven't been already - but I am having a hard time finding any!

At the moment I am thinking that I might want to go back to Stockholm, Sweden - it was very nice.

But then again so was Rome and I really loved Villefrance-Sur-Mer, a small town on the French Riviera halfway between Monte Carlo and Nice, so quite compared to the surrounding big cities but an easy fifteen minute train ride to either destination.

So many place to choose from.

Love ya,

Sally

I would go to Australia. When there I would of course visit the outback. I would pretty much just travel the whole country. I would probably go for a month if I could afford it so that I could see everything including the ocean around there.

Australia is a beautiful country, I must admit. The outback - even in the desolate - is absolutely gorgeous. The Great Barrier Reef is a must see if you're into the ocean. Uluru is breahtaking, Hanging rock is a great days out (and go exercise too!) and you'll have fun meeting all the 'strange' animals ^^

I remember when my Dad's Pakistani friend first saw a Kangaroo. Ha, good times.

Of course I say this with a Bias, naturally. :)

But, I would recommend it!

Love, Hilda.

I don't think that is biased of you. I agree with your statements. You are a very lucky girl to grow up there and be able to experience this at anytime you want to. I would love to see a Kangaroo and a Koala Bear. I would just want to hug it and take it home with me.

Id go to Australia too. I've been all over this country and every time I run into Aussies they're really nice outgoing people. My wife has a penpal from Australia that she's had for about 20 years and now it's moved on from letters to sending big boxes of candy and treats from each country back and forth. I love a lot of Australia chocolate but then they have stuff like musk flavored candy wasn't really my thing.

I also find koalas adorable and would love to go to Philip Island nature park to see the Penguin parade.

.

I've been to Oz and I loved it, but, my vacation spot would be Thailand and Bangkok, Udorn and Kurat...

I've been to Thailand about 6 times before and fell in love with it...

And of course, being right there, I'd just pop in for my SRS!

Well Spongebob would be incredibly annoying so barring that I would say Australia. I would love to go there just once and see all it has to offer. Even the ocean, tho I would go nowhere near it lol, I have a massive massive fear of being around large bodies of water. I freak out when we drive on a bridge that's over a lake so it's land for me :3

If you're going to Thailand, I always suggest staying just outside of Phuket, you still get nice accommodations but are out of the incredibly busy center. Shooting ranges, 'Big Girl' Go Karts, a shopping plaza that needs 4 foodcourts, atleast a week to fully scrawl, and incredibly friendly people, with a massive amount of variation in the cuisine, from American, to Mongolian.

I'd go on a round the world trip, but with no planes. Gotta cross land? Take a train. Water? Take a boat. That way, you get to see places and scenery that you'd miss via plane. Not to mention that having to take an actual journey (that could sometimes take days) gives you a whole new appreciation for your destination (and plenty of time for your anticipation to build).

I have a massive fear of being in a boat, and break down and cry if I have to get on one ^^ Ask anyone in my leadership camp, and those were just Canoes :P

As far as train goes? Omg yes! Trains! Love them to pieces.

American cuisine?

Isn't that an oxymoron?

I was on a cruise ship halfway between L.A. and Hawaii and it broke down. That wasn't that bad and then the AC went out and it was worse than Chinese water torture.

Iwould want a tour that started with a month at Disney World-I know it sounds like a long time but I never get enough Disney-I might need two months -then I'd go to Scotland and spend weeks roaming castles, museums and countryside My ancestors came from Scotland and England. I want to see the ancestral lands and I have always been drawn to Scotland. (Tried to emigrate there in 1969. but I had to have a job to get a visa-had to have a visa to get a job and if I went as a tourist and got a job then I would be in violation of the rules and not allowed in. Basically was nearly impossible to emigrate to Scotland-and I spent months trying!). Then I'd do the same in England. After that I'd like to see te rest of the world but Scotland and England are my first priority.

American cuisine is not an oxymoron...

we have ruined ethnic foods from around the world with our special touch...

Who else even comes close to such culinary brutality?

Americans - ruining one good recipe after another...**sniff** I'm so proud of us...

New Zealand and Australia both sound wonderful to me. Some of the people who live around here work at McMurdo base in Antarctica. They fly to Christchurch by commercial airlines, then depart from there to the base. Have heard very positive things about both New Zealand and Australia.

Hugs,

Opal

Hmmm thinking about this more in depth, I have always been a fan of the paranormal. I would love to visit those "supposedly" haunted places. Or see if I can get a glimpse of Ogopogo. Granted it's all probably not real but I hold out hope for a more interesting world. Would love to someday see Leap Castle. Not by myself O.o I'll drag my bro along :3 he always wanted to see that stuff with me.

The only true American cuisine is buffalo burgers, corn, squash, and berries for desert. Oh, and maybe some trout and salmon. :)

I would go on an endless around-the-world cruise.

The only part of cruising that sucks is disembarkation, so if its endless, I never have to hassle with that again. :D

Did anyone see my drink; it had a pink umbrellla in it?

@April Marie Yes, it's something to shop for at least for 6-8 weeks.

Definitely points to learn and keep in mind.  A bunch of stuff I had put in mental "cold storage" thawed out a bit there and ready again to run through my mill.  As said, a bit long and as usual from her a tad bit challenging.  Overall I see it and can use it as a working hypothesis.

Yeah.  I like Nebula, that was where I watched it.   I posted the YouTube cause I figured more people could see it.

We agree on most of this... and the church/state thing is kind of a tangent anyways. Oops. LOL   I think it has long been established that all different kinds of groups have access to public funds. In my opinion, either everybody has access or nobody does. I would prefer "nobody."   Relying on public funds gives the government the power to take it away, and puts that power in the hands of whatever group controls the government at the moment... the news article that is the topic of this thread shows a clear example of that happening.  Organizations trust government at their peril.

More info on Abigail Thorne here: https://go.nebula.tv/philosophytube and, Dracula's ex-girlfriend, on Philosophy tube.   "The reason why Nebula is so cheap for what it is, is because there's no upper hierarchical group looking yo skim off the top. Imagine how much cheaper EVERYTHING could be if it was like that for every other service or product; if the money went straight to workers, not up a chain of command until it reached someone who did exactly "jack" to produce what's being sold.

I'm aware that the young US ended up fighting a war with these people, and that phrase was not meant to address Church & state.  But somebody was willing to include it at the time.   I am also aware that your family arrangements would not go over well with most christian nationalists.  But that is kinda where I'm coming from on this.  I believe you and others of us with an unconventional lifestyle should be free to live as we desire - as long as we are not hurting anyone else.  And by "hurting" I don't mean only their feelings.   Using christianity to justify oppression is just wrong.  As is forced conversion, or forced conversion therapy.   Regarding public funds, LGBTQetc people have as much right to them as straight-cis folks.  I'm not arguing that queer people have more rights, just equal rights.

Even better news:  It turns out for my sister it was cardio not stroke. She’s put on new blood thinner and sent home. False alarm! Yay.

Things have changed since I've been on HRT for about 15 years. The consequence is I am not so concerned about how I present all the time.  I wear t-shirts a lot. I am pragmatic in how I shop. No, I don't want to look male, but will buy some male clothing because it fits. I am tall and built like a football linebacker, so buying women's clothes that fit can be difficult. For one I have no problem buying men's sneakers if they can pass as unisex. I wear size 12-13 women's shoes. And that can be hard to find. And, I don't like wearing slacks without pockets. I use pockets for work.    I've learned to be pragmatic. I dress up when I want to go out in public, and not so much at work. I do have a favorite blouse that accentuates the girls. And one blue striped blouse where I wear a cami top.

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/danthropology/2016/05/secularists-please-stop-quoting-the-treaty-of-tripoli/   ^^^ an interesting piece about the treaty, written by an atheist.   I totally understand why the Christian nationalist stuff makes people uncomfortable. For me, it is uncomfortable in a different way, as modern Christian nationalism is not nearly as "generic" as the views of the Founders.  Its specifically Evangelical.  I'm in a plural marriage, so definitely not approved of.    I believe the intent of the Founders was to uhold generic Christian ideas... "in God we trust" and "there's a God who created the world and He wrote ten commandments for us" sort of stuff.  Nothing beyond that, nothing specific enough to use against folks.
