One of the saddest things in life is finally realizing what you want to say to someone only to remember that they are gone

We so often put off telling people the most important things only to wish that we had after they are gone.

I never told my favorite Uncle that I loved him, he died without ever having heard that simple yet so important phrase from me, he lived most of his life in a self imposed isolation (we were a lot alike) but through his work in the early days of computer networking he made hundreds of friends on line.

He inspired me to be a musician, a writer as well as starting my love of trivia and he taught me much about helping others although he claimed to be of no use to anyone.

He had often said that they would not be able to get enough people to attend his funeral to carry the casket - he was wrong, there were so many people at the service that it was hard to get into the chapel.

Don't miss your chance, tell people the important things that you want to while they are still here.

I know it is long over due but as I think of him often I will say it here, Ed, I love you!

And that goes for all of you here, you are more important to me than I may let you know and for that I am sorry but know that each of you contributes and without the efforts of all of us here I like so many others would still be sitting alone crying about my life instead of doing anything about it.

Go out into the world today and see just how wonderful a day you can make it.

Love ya,

Sally

Good Grief-It's 108 already and not yet 1 o'clock!! We have 5 more hours of heat building!! This isn't the equator-I live in the mountains-how can it be this hot??

Actual temp is only 97-the 108 is the weather service heat index-it's a trifle humid too you see.

On a different note-to at least one person forever beyond my apology I'd want to say. "I am sorry I treated you when you were old as you treated me when I was young. It was wrong of me and I deeply regret it. Tried hard not to and failed."

Maybe saying that in a public place will help exorcise the regret -regret doesn't change what happened and if it is something you can't improve next time-can't learn from, then it becomes a useless burden.

May all of you be in a cooler place than I am!!

Maybe it will not seem so bad when we are at -30 deg F and shiverring away!

Have tried to send you cooler air, but it never seems to make it that far.....

Hi JJ,

The Northwest is being very protective of it's cold air. This morning I drove to work in the fog. The sun barely broke out as I was going home - it made 73 for a high. Earlier predictions for this week were in the upper 80's, but they've backed down again.

The offer for a cool campsite is still open!

Love, Kat

I just want to say....

Rita.....none of it was your fault...

I was trying to suppress my gender dysphoria those years...

It was hell for me and I let it influence how you were treated...not badly...it's just that I wasn't a husband...

I''m sorry...it wasn't me...

Perhaps imagination is only intelligence having fun

Proudly showing off his new apartment to a friend late one night, the drunk led the way to the bedroom, where there was a big brass gong.

"What's that brass gong for?" asked the friend.

"It's not a gong. It's a talking clock," the drunk replied.

"A talking clock? How's it work?"

"Watch this," said the drunk. He took a hammer, gave the gong an ear-shattering pound and waited. Someone on the other side of the wall screamed: "Hey, you jerk. It's 3:00 in the morning!"

:D

Anything that makes you feel better hon.:)

I was just trying to psych myself up for happy thoughts.

The weather report had just ended and I needed to refocus.

So no reports on the 120 degree heat index forecast. Nope-never heard it. Am ignoring it.

Like in another 2 months it'll be in the 70s all day. For months.

And the bird feeding stone under my tree stays cool for a long time after the cool night so that the gray squirril likes to come splay out flat with her belly to the cold stone and her mouth in the birdseed. My dog resents this even more than her usual behavior for some reason. Sees it as being taunted. Maybe it is a little-squirrils CAN smirk! Which is why the dog managed to pop the sealed screen yesterday.

Love

They just said on the wweather that this was the hottest day here in over 10 years!!

What a time to have the air conditioner broken!!

And it will be hotter on Thursday.

I don't know how much more i can stand-but being in the mountains it does cool into the 70s at night.

2 more days -then cooler and rain on Friday.

Tomorrow's a busy day for me. First I'm going to stop by the speech & hearing clinic on campus because I think I might have a hearing problem (more specifically, auditory processing disorder). Then I'm off to the health & wellness center for an appointment where I'm not sure what I'll talk about (gender I guess, lol). Then off to a nearby grocery store to meet up with a friend. Then we shall hang out for the day. And then I hope to actually remember the androgyne meeting at 9pm. This is more than I've been doing lately which has been staying in the house all day being lazy because I'm not in school right now...

It's going to be especially odd riding different buses to get to all those places, because I've never had to get to those specific places before by myself without a car, and they're quite far away. I hope I can get everywhere on time, especially my the wellness center since I have an appointment.

I hope everything works out.

The weather outside is hot and humid, inside the store is hot and dry, I stand for 9 hours and am bathed in perspiration, I trudge to my car in the sweltering heat, the A/C delivers a much needed treat but as I get out and try to walk home my glasses are fogged and I must climb the stairs without clear vision, then dinner a lovely meal followed by Popsicles - Why did mine melt and drip while Lizzy's did not?

I am tired of always being hot.

Love ya,

I always remember the meetings. Usually I remember the day after. ;) I'll try an log on too, but being at work tends to make things difficult.

Hope things work out for you too! ^_^

I'll count my blessings in this heat. Both air conditioners broke-one can't be repaired in Hot Springs at the county jail. The heat index there is already 102 degrees at 10 AM. They are in a concrete building. Think being locked in an oven with a bunch of very cranky criminals.

And the whole city of Van Buren had their water off. It's back on but has to be boiled. Yeah-imagine cooling down with a nice glass of boiling water. Or how much fun it is to actually boil water in this heat. Lots of people in Arkansas don't have air conditioning.

Actually we didn't use our central air that much before it went out. But I sure would now!!

Sounds like a more effective deterrent than the death penalty.

I had fun doing this a few weeks ago.  This is how I got rid of -money:     This music player code of mine is really working out nice.  My music collection is all mp3 files.  I put them on my server and then code things like that to play them and loop them.  And then I coded an app while I was in the mental hospital in 2009 that I use to transcribe my music with.  It's a Windows app and you can browse to an mp3 or use a URL to an mp3.  Once it is in the program, it looks like a normal music software timeline and there are sliders to slow it down and speed it up by octaves, semitones and cents, so you have complete control over what key the music is in.  And you can create loops in it and I added a feature a few years ago where it remembers all the settings so when you open it again, you still have the same loop set with the pitch settings.  I've been putting my favorite recordings in it lately, setting the funkiest loop I can find and then slow it down an octave or more.  Then I play drums to it and piano stuff, or pennywhistle.  I like playing drums on the floor.  Even though I got rid of money and well, I should have done that decades ago, I had a good time the other day hitting my bin of GO stones with my drumstick.   I don't know if I'll get flagged for self promotion here or not.  You know, I'm a musician and I'm just sharing ideas for how to listen to and enjoy learning to play music.  I'm not the only one who has made tools like this.  I'm really geeking out on my roommates drumset.  I learned to play in the 90's, but I haven't had a set since then.  I've been playing 5 gallon plastic water bottles as hand drums for 30 years.  They are relatively inexpensive and common and they sound great.  Very fun to play along to your favorite music.  And if you can slow the music down, it can make it easier to play to for some songs.  As advanced as I get as musician, I still enjoy just meditating on playing some simple pattern over and over.  Lately I've been playing an Emin7 chord going to an Fmaj7 chord on the piano.  It's all white keys.  You just play an E and then skip a key etc...  Every other key for 4 notes and then just move that all up one key for the Fmaj7 chord.  I just like the droning quality of it.

During COVID lockdowns without any place to go, some neighborhood buddies and I would play Life for hours (imagine a bunch of middle aged men playing that game, it was a hoot - all sorts of 'house rules')... anyways, as much as I could get away with it, I would choose a pink peg to represent myself... sometimes even had a female name to go with it... this was before I even really pondered whether or not I was trans ...   I was very determined to do this ... so interesting to look back and see all the threads pointing me to where I am now, though it has come as such a surprise as well...   Easy

Thank you all for the helpful responses... I realize some of HRT is for mental health -- like I said above I really am enjoying the ride so far in that regard!   Guess there is a part of me that wants to have my cake and eat it too. I want to have a nice feminine shape within reason for my age (fat distribution - you can kick in whenever you want!!). Yet, I am still not out to family, so I want it to be subtle enough as I go along that I can cover tracks when necessary ... Not the ideal situation but it is what it is ... maybe when family realizes that this is not making me into a monster, they will come around to some of it. I can hope, right?   More and more, I just want to look in the mirror and see a female body staring back at me ... I want female clothing that I put on to look like it fits me to a T... (and by T, I don't mean testosterone, lol)...    EasyE

Good afternoon M.A.   Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums, I think you'll find that there are a lot of us who had their first therapist reconsidering our story and recommended us to gender or LGBTQIA specific therapist. I made my first therapist cry after asking me what was my worst experience or memory. She was not prepared for the can of worms I brought to the couch. My second therapist is a gem, she's my age and knows how to work with my thoughts.    My two kids were also involved in the arts programs in school one in theater, the other combined art and modern music.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

That's very common in internet forums and it is hard not to take it personally sometimes.   You might post "bump" with a smiley face to bring it to the top of the stack, or you might use the @ feature if there are certain people you would really like to have comment on it, and say something like Dear Abby, I would really like your input on this.  Please take a minute and respond.  Thanks!!!
