Need Advice Against Balding

Hello there!

I have a problem... I'm going bald...

I'm just twenty two, and I'm already losing more hair than I'm comfortable with.

In two years, I've lost a huge amount of hair; I have those little 'ingresses' up the left and right of my forehead; and hair density and thickness has dropped severely...

If I look in the mirror right after taking a shower, I can actually vaguely see my skull

Genetics is not on my side. My father had gone bald by the start of his thirties, and has father was bald long before...

The same goes for my some of my relatives on my mothers side...

I am NOT, I repeat, NOT looking forward to the idea of having to wear a wig!!

Can anyone give me advice, PLEASE? Perhaps something over-the-counter? Or should I speak with my doctor, instead?

Roxanna,

OTCs don't really work for reducing hair loss. All of the drugs that are useful require a prescription from a doctor. I would suggest talking to your regular doctor adn go from there. Two of my sons are being treated for male-patterened-baldness as it runs in my genetics too. They were both referred to a dermatologist by their regular doctor for treatment. They are both contemplating hair transplants sometime in the future but are being treated with medication right now.

Rogaine and Propecia did it for me. Rogaine you can get over the counter and Propecia you need to see doctor for. I saw a dermatologist. I also used Nioxin shampoo and conditioner.

Now all of this can be a hit on your pocket book so be prepared. In reality you probably can get away with just Rogaine or Propecia but each one works a little different so I did all three as a way to cover all my bases. Like you I did not want to wear a wig or get hair transplants if I could help it. For me it was worth the money.

I hope this helps.

I know that there are herbs that will slow the balding process, but as far as stopping it or getting new hair follicles to develope is not likely. I am going through the same problem.
