Just Took The Test

Hi,

I just took the COGIATI and scored a 140 in probable transexual. I might have been dishonest on few questions or there were some dealing with a situation i never been in before. There was a question about growing hair and i'm an african american male and i can only grow an afro; it would be good to grow different hair. I think i should've scored somewhere in androgyne. But i shouldn't take this test real seriously, should I?

Hi Deandra,

The Cogati isn't too serious, at least from my POV. It's a bit of fun - you can see what things make up your "girl" side as well as your "male" side. But it's based on many stereotypes, and we know that just doesn't work! Nonetheless, I think my score was about the same as yours - and it's not too far off the mark...

Love, Kat

I agree with Kathleen. I also think that reading the questions seems to tell you more about yourself than the results. I found that when I took the test, just reading, thinking about, and answering the questions told me a lot more about myself than the numbers did.

Although the test is not to be taken seriously as a diagnosis, I have noticed that it seems to give you the result you expect. There was a thread about this and a lot of people who were placed in category five said that they weren't surprised. I scored in the same category as you, Deandra, and it was exactly what I was thinking. The test seems to be pretty good at telling you what you already suspect.

OMG!! i'm not sure what or how high the scores goes but I just

scored a 285 on the "COGIATI" test. WOW!!! I'm going to copy an

paste what it said:

Your COGIATI result value is: 285 Which means that you fall within the following category:

COGIATI classification FOUR, PROBABLE TRANSSEXUAL

What this means is that the Combined Gender Identity And Transsexuality Inventory has classified your internal gender identity to be essentially feminine, but with some masculine or androgynous traits. It is very possible that you are a candidate for a diagnosis of transsexualism. You show a strong degree of gender dysphoria. At the very least, further investigation should be undertaken. Your COGIATI score places you among the majority of those diagnosed as transsexuals, the 'late onset' tanssexual.

All I can say is WOW!! Course I already knew what I am but this test

really helps my confidence :)

Well I just took the test and scored about the same as the previous times - 440 Category Five Transsexual.

I guess it is OK to continue on the Hormones, I wasn't too sure with only my therapist and Two Doctors opinions to go by.

Still the test is sort of fun.

Love ya,

Sally

I played it conservatively by shaving off one degree of "feeling" on questions where it was obvious and got a 225. I hope I have a deeper complexity of identity than "probable transsexual," though.

Well first of all I coulda scored a 1 or a 100, or 500 or 285 an it

doesn't matter to me. I know what I am what I'm suppose to be an

what I feel. I thought it was fun taking the test an it did build

my confidence that a test where people give you scores an not even

know YOU! Only by answers. So I could careless :):harhar:

Taken this a few times over the years, don't put a lot of weight into it as the questions seem rather vague.

My latest result 225 classification four, probable transsexual.

.

Folks....the test is geared with mainly stereotypical type answers....

Take the first time and be honest....look at your score....

Now, knowing how the questions are framed, you can "cheat" and get a very high score in which ever direction you desire the next time you take it!...

Take these tests with a grain of salt...

After I took it the second time, I scored so female, I should be having babies by now!

LOL

That test was the single largest waste of time I have had in forever. I took it a week or so ago and the same question repeated over and over. Do you like math or English? Do you regocnize how someone feels by looking at them?

I scored a 185. Probable transsexual. I could gave scored a -185 if I wanted.

I can tell you without question, I'm transsexual.

Shelly.

Please consider joining us, even if it's just for a few minutes to see what the meetings are like. I've learned so much, had so much fun and gained confidence in myself just by being a part of this amazing group of people. It's a low key, no pressure, non-judgmental chance to just be among people who are supportive, understanding and affirming of each other.    I'm travelling out of state and still planning on dropping in for awhile.    Come see what it's like!!

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷
