Thank you, BeckyTG!!!

Folks, a while back, BeckyTG made a thread basically saying to moreorless quit waffling about going fulltime and to get committed, get focused and get going.

That did it. I got made. I let BeckyTG have it on that thread. Guess what?

She was right. I was wrong. I'm sorry, Becky!

Her advice is all you need to know to go fulltime. 'Nuff said. Honestly.

She motivated me to seek professional makeup advice. Clarins makeup counter in Macy's in later April of 2011. Done deal. Thanks, Becky!

She amped me to get a better wig. Going to the best wig shop in our area (been around for 40+ years, so they must be doing something right, right?) for a professional fitting and consultation in later April of 2011.

She psyched me to get rid of this doggone beard. Just today, I went back to the very best laser hair removal medical practice in our region. This place is not an office. It's a boutique. This place is not cheap. It's beyond the means of most of us. This place is not hungry for business. They can and do turn business away inasmuch as their clientele and waiting list is truly international in scope.

Ole Lacey Girl, having no advantages whatsoever going into this deal, went into see her sales counselor (a drop-dead-gorgeous, fiftysomething-genetic, wish-I-had-somebody-like-her woman!!!) for the second time. I had no chance. I was defeated. I should have gone home. I did:

AFTER I CUT THE DOGGONE DEAL, BABY! MY FIRST LASER HAIR REMOVAL SESSION IS IN LATER APRIL OF 2011! HOOHA!

And the moral of our story is, Lacey?

Wanna go fulltime? Make it happen! Just do it!

THANK YOU, BECKYTG!!! I OWE YOU! BIGTIME HUGS, GIRL!

Lacey's Laser Place:

After doing the deal, I wanted to reward myself with CHOCOLATE! Guess what I found? Could you resist chocolate cookies with your name on 'em? Neither could I! Chocolate and Macadamia Nut, honey!

http://www.worldmarket.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3624330

Anybody wanna rock? Leg's are my best feature, so when the warm weather comes, well, watch the vid ... hee hee:

Wanna go fulltime? Then do it! Just get committed!

back when i was in film school, taking scriptwriting classes, I had a teacher who always said "the secret to writing is writing" Seems like that idea applies to a lot of things in life. Congrats for getting a move on!

Lacey,

You just made me cry. I am so happy for you, dear girl.

You are right, all things come to those who wait, but they come a lot faster if you work like crazy while you're waiting...

I'm so excited to hear of these developments as they occur and I'm very happy you finally took that step across the threshold. I hope that you find it's a wonderful place that makes you wonder why in the heck you waited so long. :)

Peace to you, dear Sister. Enjoy the ride, it's a doozie. :welldone:

Everybody:

Thank you very much. I appreciate your kind comments and good encouragement. You people are awesome.

Quick but Important Point:

At the bottom of my initial post, you will see this comment:

This post has been edited by MaryEllen: Today, 08:20 AM

Reason for edit: Inappropriate video and link removed.

Then, several hours after that appeared, I noticed that one of the root administrators suspended YouTube posting privileges for this website. Apparently, they took umbrage to both the link to the laser center I'm using and to ZZ Top's "She's Got Legs" video.

Nothing inappropriate appears in either that website or that video. Of course, "vulgarity" is in the eye of the beholder, right? Folks, this is extreme. However, I understand the protocols of this website.

Recently, I contacted one of the main people here to present an offer to the root administrators to reengage YouTube privileges, for it is not fair that anybody else should suffer here on account of me. If they accept my offer, you'll get YouTube access back ... which is as it should be.

However, I'll be taking my leave. That's the deal. Allow me to thank you all for your encouragement and support. Thanks to all of you, I've got my confidence back. Lifelong, I'll be grateful to you all. You are a very fine and very decent group of people. Alas, the finest I've ever known in many ways. My you all find happiness and peace.

Love & Hugs!

Hi Lacey,

Oh No! You don't get away that easy! You know that we'll come find you, and for that matter, you won't be able to stay away anyhow!

So, you may as well stick around, and be a beacon for the rest of us who can't quite get the message as clearly as you did. Please?

Now, the music vid's were lost on me - being amongst the hearing disabled, I can only imagine - others would miss them alot more than I. It wasn't for the music that I read your posts, you know!

Seriously, you've made friends here, and, you'll be missed. I hope you do reconsider...

Love, Kat

Lacey,

I fully support the admins here. You may not realize the tremendous amount of time it takes to read and approve each post. Having to sit through a 5 minute video is just too much too ask of the mods. Imagine as the numbers grow, the time it would take.

The beauty of this site is the love, the cooperation, the support and the warmth of the group and I'm convinced that this is greatly due to moderation of all posts. Every group I've been a part of has had at least one troller and many grouches. This is a refreshing change.

You and I and everyone else will be better off if you stay. If you truly believe, after taking my comments into account that you must leave, then you must follow your own heart, but I believe you will be the one that suffers the greatest loss if you do.

I understand that music is your life, how about simply a reference to the song?

BTW, I loved the video and it made me tear up a bit. I'll miss the videos, but I understand the logistics behind the decision. This site is run by people who really know what they're doing and they will always have my complete support.

I'm just a regular member, I'm not a moderator. I do support and appreciate the hard work they all do for us. They are really working.

Best to you,

Becky

Oh, my!

What can I say? Of course, some folks may thing that this is some gambit for attention or respect of something like that. No way. For whatever reason, I'm just hardwired to be "over the top" as many people perceive it. Again, what can I say? All I can be is who I am, and how true that is for any of us, right?

Well, I'll "put a lid on myself" and "reign myself in" and "not rock the boat" and maintain proper demeanor, comport myself well and adhere to protocol. No problem. However, rest assured that I'm still rocking out anyway ... just to myself!

Guess I'll end up by myself, but I suppose I deserve it. That's life. You may assume the Frank Sinatra YouTube video "That's Life" appearing right here right at this point. The Chairman of the Board could so nail a song!

Okay, okay ... I'll reign myself in. I'll post much less often. I'll kind of lurk.

Thanks so much! You are wonderful! Hugs & Peace!

Lacey,

You know you are loved and supported by many here, including me. But you also know I am honest. You brought something up in a public post so that is why I am responding publicly. I like Laura's because of it's rules and these rules protect us and they make Laura's the place what it is--and the logistics behind this decision are necessary.

The rules are upfront, people are asked to read them as a new member. There are other sites unlike Laura's and I would not post there or feel safe there.

The mods spend a lot of time and there are many posts, hourly ;daily. Besides volunteering their time; they have lives; they also face challenges that we all do. Except for a few hours during night, the time it takes for most posts to appear is very impressive. I commend them. Having volunteered previously as a moderator, I know the time it takes.

If you were working out something with the administration, you should not be publicly discussing that , because it creates a situation like this where we discuss something that it is not uplifting and distracting from the energy people need to devote to getting through the next day.

For many this is the only place they can come to talk, get support. Saying I will leave, or I will only lurk, or reign myself is your decision. Many positive things are happening in your life. Was it really necessary to air this publicly?

I debated before writing this because then I am adding to a post that I don't think is productive. I think you need to take a step back and take a look at how this is affecting you and people that I know you care and support.

I leave it to the mods to approve this post or not. I will ask that until you can be more objective and think of how your decisions about rules affects others, that you refrain from contacting me other than responding to this post here in a public forum.

Please take care of yourself.

John

It's not just you. There are others involved as well. Yesterday a member posted a music video of a naked woman strolling down a crowded sidewalk We have specific rules that prohibit that sort of things yet people are choosing to ignore them.

3). Users should remember this board is aimed at a general audience so postings should be directed at a G or PG rating level.

Posting pornographic, indecent or offensive text, images, links or other content will not be tolerated. This includes nudity or "underwear" imagery. These will be removed as soon as a Moderator is (made) aware of them! This includes both the Blog and Gallery sections of the Forums.

26). Embedded videos placed in posts shall not exceed 10 minutes in length. Externally linked videos should not exceed 20 minutes in length. Videos of longer lengths may be held up until a moderator has had a chance to review them to verify that they meet our PG-13 standards. All videos and external links will be reviewed. All videos must be transgender related. Any that that are not transgendered themed and do not meet our PG standards will be rejected.

We have children here as young as 13 WITH THEIR PARENTS WATCHING OVER THEIR SHOULDER. We are not about to risk a law suit from some irate parent for corrupting the morals of their child

@ John Chiv:

Brother, I will honor your request, and I understand your reasoning. Sorry if I've upset you, for I did not mean to. However, I beg to differ on one point. This is a forum. Forums, by their nature and design, foster discourse. Should you ever change your mind, I'm here. However, I will honor your request. Peace, Bro. :friends:

@ BeckyTG:

Hon, yes! I fully agree with you. Moreover, I'm on board with what you say here. The mods do a difficult and awesome job. They surely keep The Playground warm and wonderful by design and intent. Kudos to them.

@ Mary Ellen:

Hon, I appreciate and understand all you say here. Truly, I agree with you about keeping The Playground upbeat and inoffensive. To me, this microdrama is a good thing, because it clarifies the tone and tenor of the site. Inasmuch as you are a Root Administrator, you have the aegis to delete this entire thread. Feel free to do so in the event that you decide it would be right and proper to do so.

Thank you for keeping me here. We all appreciate all that the adminstrators and moderators do here and what Laura Amato hath wrought in order to provide peace, information and friendship to erstwhile woebegone like us of the gender-variant community.

Should you ultimately decide to delete this thread, then let it be so.

Hugs & Love

Discussions even to the point of disagreement are a good thing. In fact, we even encourage it. We only ask that discussions be kept civil and to stay within the guidelines of the site Terms and Conditions. I believe our rules are very clear as to what is allowed and what is not. If these conditions are met, there will be no problem.

My Brother:

Man, take ALL the time and space you need. Remember, I'm here for you ... whenever YOU want me to be.

Know what? I'm gonna let the general membership in on some of what we talked about. Know why? I'm gonna put myself publicly on the spot. In a while, I won't be posting that much, because I'll be both working fulltime at my medical transcribing job (to pay the bills) and then in the afterhours starting my private equity firm (intellectual rather than financial capital) and hustle after a buck for the first time in my life.

Guess what? I'll DO it too. Sure, many folks will see this and think I'm full of bollocks, as your British friends say. No problem. I jade myself and gainsay their nay-saying. Entrepreneuring requires much the same "guts and gonads" as transitioning does. Same skill set; different application.

What you and I have been talking about, bro? When you're ready, contact me and I'll make good on it, okay? Hourly fees? Bad deal. Project fees? Better deal ... but still woefully lacking and inordinately unfair. Take a cue from the I-bankers and VC's, man. Think about what that means.

You DA MAN, John. You ARE gonna rise to exactly the position in life you want to be at. Here for ya when yer ready, mate.

Peace & Hugs ... Your Far-Out Sis

Sis Lacey,

20 years as a journalist and yet today was special.

My first news article as John Chiv got published and people were talking about it all day. They were thrilled to see a real journalist and a local news in their daily paper and I already have 9 other articles lined up. I will write them even if I don't get paid. I appreciate the offers of the books but you need to save every penny for yourself. Motivation isn't the issue. I have the connections and drive. Just need the cash flow. With our economy, particularly in a rural area, getting from where I am to where I should be will be challenging but it will happen. With sheer determination.

I have written in another post why my financial situation is what it is and why I am there. It isn't as much as about being transsexual for me. I don't let people control me and I am outspoken and I advocate for those who cannot and there has been a financial price. I have no regrets.

I am the happiest I have been finally being me and though the challenges are painful and devastating at times; I know behind these posts others are going through their own journey just as heartbreaking and yet each one of us is full of strength.

It has been a day full of many emotions; many positive ; and I am just exhausted. Writing is the gift I have and I am doing my part to make this world a better and safer place. Economics are one thing that we all have in common. I don't know anyone who has transitioned and not paid a price financially. That is where change needs to happen first.

Even though I didn't get paid, seeing the joy and hope in the eyes of my community and seeing my name on the front page of the business section is a reward that money can't buy.

You will succeed. I will succeed. And so will others here.

John
