Partially Came Out

Hi

Almost a week ago, my mom was cleaning my room and i was kinda worried she find out my hidden underwear. After she got done cleaning i went back there and looked in my closet (that's where i keep them). Luckily they were still there in the box where i keep them, but later that day i checked on them again and they were gone. I was so shocked then again there was another time this happened a two months back, but i thought she forgot. After that i tried hinting if she threw anything away that day and she said she didn't. But i don't believe her so the next day i showed her the box where i kept them and i told her where she put them then she told me she misplaced them in my room. Surprisingly, she didn't have a bad attitude about it. I searched my room and couldn't find them so she obviously threw them out She actually thought that somebody at school was telling me to wear them and i said nobody's telling me anything and that's that. I am really hoping she might forget all this. Things feel a little weird now. Does she think i'm some freak or drug user? So u can say that i partially came out to her, but who knows when will i tell her the whole truth, probably this summer when school is over. But god i am so worried how her and my family will react. Man my life is kinda at a downward spiral right now...

Well, it's probable that whatever she is thinking is actually worse than the truth. And you have to hope that she doesn't start looking things up on her own and stumble across some of the twisted negative sights out there or consult some fundamentalist with a "they're all going to burn in hell" attitude.

Only you can decide but given that this is the second time this has happened I'd say it is time to come out. The longer she has to stew and speculate the more misinformed or biased she may become. You need to put and end to speculation with truth. Her reaction indicates that she may not be totally rejecting,

But as I said that is just my take on it and this is something only you can decide for yourself

Deandra, John's response was right on target.

Hiding the truth can work for a while, and sometimes its necessary to avoid a greater evil. But if your mother already knows something is up with you, waiting too long probably won't benefit you.

You've heard the saying, "A little knowledge can be dangerous?" Your mother now has a little knowledge.

Thanks JJ and Carolyn for your replies. Well i guess what i'm going to do is come out to her with a letter. Seems like the best option for me. Hopefully she will be respectful and supportive.
