Came Out To A Straight Male.

So my parents decided today to have this mini bonfire even though it is like 90 degrees outside. But anyhows my moms best friend came over with her son, who goes to my school.

-Knowledge to keep in mind, her son was one of my best friends up till 7th grade, and we are still friends just not as close as we used to do to lack of classes together.

So I was sitting in my room freaking out like omg what if he tells the whole school, what if he thinks it is wierd, ya know the whole run down. Then his mom (who already knows about me) was like "I know this is awkward for you, but don't worry my son will be okay with it, do you want me to tell him so you can just come outside or would u rather just go outside" I asked her to tell him. He was completely cool with it, and he was like "Honestly I am scared that I will say he, instead of she". So then I talked to him privately. Then we went outside, and he was like "are you gonna join us in the pool" So I put on my bikini and then went into the pool with them. He didn't act any different really. I was really comfortable with him, and he seemed really cool with everything. We played a mini game of baseball with the younger kids, and he was like " Don't worry, I always knew something was up but couldn't put my finger on it, but it makes sense now, and don't worry I support you and you are still one of my best friends." Then sadly he had to leave.

Nerve racking, but feeling good now.

That was great to hear his Mom being positive and asking you if she should tell him about you. It's nice when someone let's you make the decision about your life about who and when to tell. good to hear he was accepting of you too. Very mature.

That is great news Ariel. Now you have someone to confide in at school if you are feeling down. Now I must ask, did you ask him to keep this to himself at school? If you didn't then he might not think anything of it and let it slip. He won't be trying to hurt you by outing you but news like that is hard to keep to ones self.

Anyway, Congrats again on your friend being open about you.

@ Sarah F : I don't know his mom said he wouldn't tell anyone so I feel safe, and if so there is legit 10 days of school left so. You never know. A lot of my friends know, and he sis the first straight male, so it is nice to have an opinion from him, and see how he takes it, and idk. I just feel relieved I was always scared that guys would freak out and be like that is so weird but he is completely cool with it. I think like i am at what about 20 or so kids at my school know. Everyone has been accepting so far. So I'm feelin' good.
