How Much Of The New Gender For Rlt?

Guest Nelly

Recommended Posts

Hi,

every time I am thinking about RLT I get the picture of me wearing realy female clothing. But how female you must be for RLT? I mean, the overlap of male and female is realy big. There are some natural womens outside looking more masculin than I am. I can also go out in RL without short skirt and high heels or the perfect makeup. Womans also do not wear this things all time.

So how much is best to pass? I think not to much.

Greetings

Nelly

REAL LIFE TEST : (RLT or Life Test) A period of time required of individuals seeking reassignment surgery during which they must live full-time expressing and presenting the gender in and of which they identify as. Many doctors require a Real Life Test of two or more years before advancement to SRS (surgery). This Real Life Test period is necessary to be sure that an individual can capably adapt to the sought after gender role. Also known as RLE or Real Life Experience. Check with your surgeon for RLE time requirements as there are variations between them.

Presumably RLT is just what it says.. a REAL LIFE TEST.. LIVING in your preferred gender FULL TIME. Hope this helps.

Yes I know what you want to say to me. I try to say it in different way to make it more clear what I mean.

To be treaded like a woman you must pass. If you allways do not pas because you do not look like a woman, than it can never be a realistic real life test. It is more a test of your staying power of handling to be exposed as a man. So how much female is best to pass best to make the real life test not a test of staying power?

I think a style of dressing that keep you out of the center of attention is best. If you are the grey mouse in the corner you will not get so much attention as the paradise bird with a lot of colors. But if you are allways the grey mouse, is it possible that the teraphist says that this make the test to easy for you?

Or another point. I was traveling arround a lot. Sometimes in countries were I could not speak the language. So I spent some weeks there doing shopping without saying anything to the people. Saying nothing make it more easy to pass because they can not be iritated from your voice.

I know that this will be a process over time. At the beginning maybe gey mouse is better. Later on the paradise bird is coming from alone.

I also hope that my self-confidence increase with HRT. No it is very low.

Greetings

Nelly

Hey Nelly.

I get what you mean about passing making RLT more difficult. That is something that can be discussed with your therapist. It is possible to receive a letter for HRT in order to complete RLT. The RLT is simply the standard for surgeries.

I think the RLT is more interacting with the world (job, formalities, legal entities) from the position of being whatever gender you are as opposed to "looking and dressing" though that of course is a part of it no one is going to say "longer skirts" or "shorter skirts". As long as the "total presentation" is female and your interactions are from the position of female you should be fine. I would be more concerned with being sure of the requirements to satisfy your therapist or the persons overseeing your srs requirements.

Unless you have to wear skirt and heels for work reasons, most women dont wear them all the time. For me it was not a question of how far to go for my RLE/RLT I had to do it, and I was going to do it right. I have mainly casual clothes, a few skirts and some nice white blouses to wear with them. As to makeup, just the basics, concealer, foundation, some powder and lipstick, ocasionally I will wear eyshadow and mascara, but usually only if its dinner at a nice restauant. The day I was told I had to do RLE before my HRT, was the day I had the only panic attack i can remember. OMG, how the heck can I do this? Well the GF and I went shopping the next day and started buying me gender appropriate clothing I put that on for the first time and never looked back.  By now I have taken one load of mens out of my closet and am thinking its time to pull another one out; as far as undies go Ive not worn mens in nearly 6 months.

I started padding my bras with just socks but that didnt really help be get gendered properly so I dug out the old C-Cup breast forms i used when cross dressing boy was that a turnaround, all of a sudden most ppl are gettinng it right.

Isn't the legal name change and drawing a pay check under the new name a big part of it?

Ashley, its part of it but for those of us who dont immediately have the nearly 200 it costs in this state then working as your target gender is a big part of it. I am dressed and act female 24/7 (yes including my nighties). Name change is the next on my list but i have to put the money away for it. I only make 8$/hr so its going to take a bit of time.

I wonder about this sometimes.  If it were so, they would be in their 50's by now. It's not impossible.   Guess I'm a girl with a past.

Just a casserole with macaroni and leftover hamburger.  It will last me a couple of days or more. I frequently use my wok, but in the kitchen.

I must be missing something here. Coins and pentangles do interchange.  And Bird is the word.  But all I know about coders is the socks.

Funny thing.  When I went to school I was writing with my right hand (I'm right handed) but holding the pencil like a left handed person.  They made me change that, and to be sure it was better for me.  Of course my handwriting is still barely legible.  It's just a curious thing. I'm a kinda mixed up person.

Bathroom usage law based on chromosomes is quite irrational. Just within the intersex community there are quite a few problems with it with those that have full or partial androgen insensitivity. For instance, I have XY chromosomes but also have a uterus and fallopian tubes. My breasts are real and I have had them since puberty. I was also born without a penis to speak of, but I do have testes.    I don't look like the average guy, and much less now that I don't hide my DDD's behind baggy layered clothes.    Physically I am much more female than male, but my birth certificate and chromosomes say something else.    I most definitely don't fit in the men's room. Last time I tried everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me until I left. I have used the family restroom in public ever since (all gender). The Texas law basically leaves only one choice for intersex individuals. Family restroom or pee your pants. 🙄

I had a similar experience.  My father, doing geneological research, googled the name of the tiny hamlet in Scotland where his family came from.  He was surprised to find a request from someone in Australia wanting to find his birth mother.  The mother was named as my father's sister, from that same tiny hamlet.  There was no possibility of mistaken identity: there could not be two people of that name in such a small place.   The family knew that my aunt had had a child out of wedlock, but no one had kept track of the child.  And of course, the times being what they were, knowledge of the event was kept on a need-to-know basis.    My father contacted the person in Australia.  He gained a nephew and I gained a cousin that I never knew I had.  We kept in touch until my cousin passed away a few years ago.  I am still in occasional contact with his widow.

I can relate to that, I started my oral estrogen back in 2017.. less than 6 months I was wearing jeans size 40, then afterward my hips started to curve so I can fit a jeans size 12 or 14.. my treating doctors suggested for me to take before and after pictures and show it to them during my next doctor's appointment.

Good morning from the backyard patio,   Parker and I are outside enjoying the morning sounds of the day. It’s was filled with the beautiful sounds of birds, bugs and kids off at a distant playground. My coffee was hot, strong and black. This came crashing down as the Monday morning trash truck came into the neighborhood. We’re the first neighborhood for the trash route since a city ordinance keeps all commercial workers limited to a 07:00 start time. It was Parker’s first time experiencing this noise and physical vibrations as the operator slammed the articulated arm around picking up individual trash bins. Parker ran from the fence back to the patio swing looking back at the monstrous truck causing such a commotion. His head tilted, ears perked, and body language indicating curiosity.    My second cup of coffee is settling down as the birds return to singing their calls, and Parker ravages his toy rabbit.    Hugs and best wishes as you take on the week. Happy Monday!   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good morning @Adrianna Danielle   I’m glad you agreed to the paternity test.    My Uncle found himself in a similar situation and after the test he was faced with explaining his infidelity and one night stand to his wife and family. Not only did the test come back; “YOU ARE THE FATHER” she looked like a sister to the other children in his family. This was a “23 & Me” moment confirmed by an independent test. The most important reason for the young lady to search for her father, was medical history and peace of mind. The blessing of the test was her understanding and willingness to disappear into obscurity. That was not what my Uncle or his family wanted to happen. She was family and they wanted to know her and eventually love her as a family member. The next 4th of July family gathering, she was introduced to the rest of her extended family and I gained a cousin. My prayers for you as you navigate all the possibilities, and I hope it works out for everyone involved.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
