OMG

Kill Dozer

That was such a corny made for TV movie, somewhere back in the 70's. You are the only one I have ever heard ever mention that movie Sally. Welcome to the "I have experienced Kill Dozer" club. I think there were others that were made in that series, and they were aired on ABC as I recall.

Hey!

I never miss a Clint Walker movie, although in this case I should have made an exception.

Did you notice that Robert Urich didn't last long enough to make the credits?

I just stopped by to check the pulse on this thread but i realized that zombies have no pulse.

I see that it is still dead and doing well in the new year.

Love ya,

Sally

Sally is being modest. You'd be hard pressed to come up with any movie or tv series for that matter that Sally didn't know more about than the movie database.

She has a world class knowledge. So next time your can't remember exactly what movie Haley Mills was in with her father, or which Twilight Zones Bill Mumy was in ask Momma Sally. It's awesome!

Love you Sally.

The Truth About Spring (also starred James MacArthur (Danny Williams in the original Hawaii Five-0 series - not the pilot) and Billy was the central character in the one where he sent people to the corn field "It's A Good Life." he was in two less than memorable ones in later seasons but this was Billy at his BEST!

Love you Sally.

What other dreams have we had? tuff that was such a delight to think about, yet faded like the morning mist?

...............

I wanted to be a cartoonist for Walt Disney.

I wanted to learn to fly.

I wanted to move to my own private island and live my life as I am.

...............

Pixel animated cartoons, never had the time or money to take flying lesson, all the private islands turned out to NOT have electrcity or running water.

..............

Sigh... but I DO get to transition, and be my true self, YEAAAAAAA

I wanted to be a wildlife biologist. At the time women were discouraged from entering the field period and never allowed to do the in the field research I wanted to do.

And I wanted to illustrate children's books. I've written and illustrated a couple but never submitted for publication. Just used them to read to the children in my life for a couple of generations. An eye problem made work as an illistraor impossible. Not a visible problem but causes eye strain

And I wanted to become a macro economist working at the UN in NYC. Another field that I was strongly discouraged from entering. Needed a doctorate and only 1 woman in the US held a doctorate in economics at the time.

I wanted to immigrate to Scotland. That was a long fight that called in everyone I knew from senators to ambassadors but in the end I didn't manage it. You needed a work visa but to get a work visa you needed a job. To get a job you needed a work visa. And if you went on a regular tourist visa and found a job your work visa would be denied and your tourist visa revoked because it was against the rules. You get the picture. There was a shortage of jobs in Scotland.

And of course I always dreamed of being a man but that one was secret and I never knew it was really possible for me to change my body or that it didn't define me.

I wish I had fought harder, not given up on some of these dreams when it looked hopeless. I fought hard but did give up. However I did good things with my life and probably did more good in the world than I would have otherwise.

Thank you Lizzy-I just realized I have also given up on a much smaller but important dream when I should be giving it the fight of my life. I want to actually be mobile and able to do the things I love again.

Hugs

John

.

I wanted to go to the Air Force Academy and become a pilot.....

I did end up flying in the Air Force as a crew member..

Afterwards I privately became a pilot and then walked away from it...

I just wanted to prove that I could....

Oh, and transition.....did that, too......

See what happens when you neglect a thread that's trying to die? Takes on a life of it's own. Life is everywhere, for everything. Not to be taken for granted, meaning is everywhere.

Dreams, I have so many, but only while I'm awake. I'ma draw, I'ma drum, I'ma write, and I'ma gonna make music the entire time. I may never make money off'a it, but money is for those who don't have it. Should be anyways, senseless CEO's and politicians.

So for now, all I'ma do is continue to love, cuz "lovin. . . it's what I got."

I had a number of dreams, from being a professional musician, action movie star, astronaut to a novelist, but most well really all of my dreams I started but never finished, it would be so easy to blame my GID for it but in fact the fault was mine alone - I failed to follow through - I have a tendency to start things and then never finish when it gets hard - I get out.

Transitioning has been a lifetime dream and now that I have started I have stayed with this so much longer than anything else that I just know that i will complete this journey - I have to there is no other choice for me.

Love ya,

Sally

WOW - that was a bummer - poor thread it had a long life until I got hold of it.

Sally I've given up on my share of dreams when things got hard.

But I think you are underestimating the part GID can play in that. Not that it excuses it, it just means we have to be a little tougher to get through when things get hard. But I know that so much of my energy and willpower went into trying to be what I could not that I let go earlier than I would have otherwise. I am by nature a fighter and if I had known that the battle to be a woman among women was lost before it began it would have made a huge difference. I would have been able to fight longer and harder for what I wanted and I would have had more faith in myself

A new day and a new time with awareness of the possibilities will hopefully mean that the kids who are just emerging from childhood will not waste so much of their potential. Will not suffer the limitations our ignorance placed on us. We just didn't know or understand.

But you are a fantastic role model in going ahead and realizing your true self and finding a fun, fulfilling life at last. We may not have done or been all we could but we did gain knowledge and compassion and a willingness to help. Those are accomplishments to be proud of. It would have been too easy to become bitter, angry people who in the end drowned in our own despair. Be proud of who you became. I am

Thanks, Johnny,

I needed that this morning - a gray day and a bit down - the aftermath of getting the divorce papers a new freedom but the realization of yet another unfinished dream.

I am working to make my life better - no one should ever just give up, there is always hope.

I'm a masculine woman. It's not about masculinity though. It's about expanding what it means to be a woman.

It never rains but it pours.  We had a dry spring, but now my garden is a swamp and my yard is a pond.  Get off the gravel road, and you'd need a hovercraft.    With nothing better to do, I'm going on a short trip with my husband tomorrow.  Since he's in management he usually doesn't do this sort of work, but whenever he does I usually go along.  And he already knows not to try staying in a hotel, because I want to sleep in the bunk in the truck.  So much more cozy.    And for a couple of days, GF can actually take care of her own kids instead of leaving them to me....

I have played clarinet, but without talent.  And while I *can* sing, I think listening to it would be an acquired taste.

Something that would help is reducing salt intake which causes the body to hold water and causes inflammation, another thing would be to add cardio to your exercise routine. Lowering your overall body fat will affect your face appearance. Hope this helps :)

Hi Sally, okay I'll head on over to your post and check out your makeup techniques.
    • Sally Stone
Hey all,   It's been a while, but I blogged a whole series on makeup.  It's an eight-part series where I talk about my techniques.   Here is the link to Part 1:       Hopefully the blog series is helpful.

Oh, I can relate to that one Vicky, leaving lipstick in hot weather  I've lost count how many times I had to purchase new purses.

Thanks for the replies, as an admin from my own group I understand the same rules, agreed.

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?
    • Ladypcnj
Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.
