So I just talked with my mental health worker and she gave me inspiration to move forward. I found out that I pretty much have to do all the footwork and so here my journey begins and I will try not to rush things this time. So I was wondering if anyone here knows of any surgeons and gender specialist here in British Columbia and I was hoping to find a GS [gender specialist] that might be able to do an apt. on Skype for free.

Any information will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'm hoping to find these "doctors" in either Prince George BC or Vancouver BC if at all possible. :0)

AJ -- glad to hear you had some positive encouragement from your healthcare worker. I hope you can find the specialists you need. It is so very frustrating when you are starting out and there's so little information.

I live in a small town and had a hard time finding people who could work with me. As it is, I'll have to travel about 4 hours to get to an endocrinologist who works with transgender people.

It's tough now, but you'll be amazed at how much you're about to get accomplished. You're pushing open the door.

One other thing that gave me a little push was something my mom once told me [she just recently passed away 2010] "If you want something done right, then you have to do it yourself".

In my mind I have already given myself a timeline when I'd like to see things completely done and I came up with the age 55, so that's 7 years from now, so I have plenty of time to get things going and get things done.

So once again, I'm on my computer until 3-5 am every night trying to get as much information as I can.
